A Tail Waggin Place
339 Reber Ave, LancasterFrom the first call to get a same day quote on a groom package for our poodle, Gram, we knew we were in good hands. We never had a dog that needed groomed and even though we tried to brush him we didn’t know what we were doing. We brought Gram in to our house to save him from going to the pound. He is a special dog who has found his place within my ever growing family. Gram was matted looking like bear. We knew he would have to be shaved after looking up how to care for poodles. We were okay with it. We asked if there was a way to not shave him completely bald. The employee at the front desk said they would try their best to leave some. They quoted us a couple of hours. Then they called us and let us know it would be a couple more hours because he was so matted that they had been working on him since he came in. They quoted us another price for their troubles and their time. We agreed to it. When I went into pick up Gram, he looked like a completely different dog. They were able to keep some hair on him and not shave him bald and keep his hair on his ears. We are so thankful of the groomers that handled Gram. He will now be able to see which way his ball goes after the kids throw it.

They are sensitive when it comes time to say goodbye, too. They make it a little easier and are extremely professional and give you time to say goodbye and allow you to hold them until the end. It's heartbreaking, but they handled our boy so nicely. They aren't super expensive like some places can be. They are reasonably priced and top notch care, it's a win win man.

Canine Academy Columbus
332 Mt Zion Rd NW, LancasterCanine Academy is simply AMAZING! We have a 200lb English Mastiff (Wally) who is a big doofus. Wonderful beastie, but really (unintentionally) intimidates other dogs and people with his size and his excitedness. Our other BIG problem (with such a big dog) is that when our dude wanted to go somewhere or do something he set his mind to, we simply couldnt hold him back.
We had tried a different boarder that is closer to us, but they completely percieved Wallys nervousness and confusion as aggression. We were told within a few hrs to "come collect your dog".
Canine Academy was highly recomended online, but 1.5hrs away. We werent sure, but took the chance. Canine Academy was INCREDIBLE! They did a thorough intake assessment, to see exactly what we needed and gave us a full tour of the facilities (something the other place refused to do). The campus was very impressive and extremely clean (very well maintained and kept). We had a 12 day boarding, while on a vacation, and had Alex assigned as a trainer for the 10day training. Wally is doing magnificently well! We had regular updates and pics of his progress. Dude was playing with other dogs, had one-on-one playtime with staff, "sniff-walks", regular walks... all of which we got details on from various staff and caretakers. Today, we picked up Wally and had extensive training (for us) from Alex, who showed off some phenomenal progress. Alex showed how their method was simply opening clear communication with our beastie. Wally is doing SO well, even on the first day. Responding to simple commands, no pulling, no bullheaded ignoring us. Dude is still very much the same goofy, giant doofus... but really more fun, less nervous and easier to care for. Looking forward to future lessons and more classes and better days ahead. 2521 E Main St, LancasterI have an Old English Sheepdog, and Jessica Bigham does amazing with him!! Jessica pays a great deal of attention my dog. She even discovered Charlie had a skin condition that was caused by the diet he was on. Without her showing me, and giving me tips and suggestions, I wouldn’t have known! She even advised me what to do when he was sprayed by a skunk! Charlie loves going to Paw and Order. He gets so excited when we pull into the parking lot!Jessica can bond with ALL animals. My mind is at great ease knowing Charlie is safe and in amazing hands while being groomed.

Wine was good, had a flight so was able to sample a few , before making a choice to buy a bottle which is definitely nice. Service was good very knowledgeable and nice. Definitely recommend a stop and sip if you’re in the area.
