Been Shopping At this location for Decades
I was in Line Placed All My Items on
Counter
Cashier with Brown or red hair with glasses
Bent over got very close to
Me and was starring at my Cart
At end of ringing my items up
I explained to him Everything is out
He continued to state
They double check everything
Ok But don't you know how to look
Without accusing me of stealing indirectly
Very insulting
Maybe Just people in Handcuffs
And Have workers select your items?
Btw He must not be that intelligent
I don't need to bend over the counter
With my back too see if someone stole
We have eyes to see
Maybe just glance while I am leaving in
His site!

I've been going to Marc's my whole life. I go there because my mom does. It's nostalgic. There are not many groceries in lakewood. They recently removed self checkout and the pharmacy while understaffed the registers. Are they closing? Every reason I had to come here is gone. I went there last night for bananas and the lines were 10-12 people and they had no back up. I can see where this is going and it makes me so sad! How is this happening with all the need for good groceries in lakewood? What's left giant eagle?

I vote they close it down and make it a Trader Joe's! This place is honestly a bit of a mystery to me. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but something about the overall atmosphere and the staff interactions just feels… off. It’s not that people don’t care — they do — but the way they engage with customers can be uncomfortable and, at times, frustrating.
There used to be someone at customer service who was downright combative. I once pointed out a batch of expired produce, and instead of checking into it, she loudly told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. When I showed her the dates, she doubled down and started lecturing me about “best by” versus expiration dates. I haven’t seen her in a while, which is probably for the best.
More recently, the checkout experience has been painfully slow. The cashier was pleasant enough, but there was a long line and it took almost 20 minutes to ring up about 15–20 items — not an exaggeration. There didn’t seem to be any sense of urgency. On top of that, I was told I couldn’t stand near my cart at the end of the bagging area “because it’s the rules.” When I asked whose rules, the only answer I got was “just the rules,” which summed up the whole experience pretty well.
Overall, I leave this store more confused than anything. It’s not terrible, but it consistently feels like something is just a little off here.

Getting rid of self checkouts was incredibly inconvenient and inefficient. I am now having to wait in incredibly long lines to purchase maybe one or two items on my lunch break. My Marc’s runs that used to take me 5 minutes now take me about 20.

Rude manager when their pharmacy wasn’t open during posted hours she acted like I was the idiot when I asked how I was supposed to get my prescription.

The only positive thing I can say about this store is that it has a better selection than most. Other than that, the store is dirty, products are found outdated all the time, and now they've taken out the self checkout lines. Arguably the worst thing they could have done. Last time I went, they only had 2 cashiers, and I got stuck behind an elderly woman who tried using a gift card but then her credit card didn't go through. This caused their computer system to get stuck because they couldn't remove the gift card. Unreal. I feel bad for the employees that have to deal with such an outdated, cheap system. Now their pharmacy is going to be shut down? Most of their customers will be driven away! I knew Marc Glassman was a cheapskate but this is beyond unacceptable to cause such inconvenience for customers to save a few dollars. I don't think I want to support this store or company at all anymore.

In general this store is awful and I can’t complain enough about how they took away the self service registers and now only keep 1-2 registers open… But regardless they have a couple *really* amazing employees. Lisa is such a sweetheart, honest, and relatable. I can’t give her enough praise. It’s obvious the management/higher ups is the problem here and not the employees at all.

Marc's used to be great but now the prices are insane, making it totally not worth the cluttered, cramp environment (which used to be tolerable when the prices were at least reasonable). Going back to Meijer and Aldi unfortunately.

I've been shopping at this location for over 30 years . They have the best closeouts at this store. Great customer service up front and a very nice pharmacy staff. There are always registers open and I don't usually have a problem shopping and checking out pretty quickly. They have long term employees here.The shopping carts are always in the corral. They're pretty good about bringing them back into the store. The deli is always staffed.
Produce is plentiful. Shelves are stocked with groceries. Large dairy and frozen sections.I can always find what I need. Plenty of parking available near the store. It's in a great location that's centrally located and accessible to public transportation. Thanks Marc's!

Used to go here all the same for groceries, good selection including some cool local brands, removed self checkout and had to wait in a line for no reason, will not be going here anymore

Used to pop in here all the time when I needed one or two things. Not anymore! Stopped in today to find the self checkout machines gone, resulting in enormous lines at the only two registers they had open. Either staff the store with enough cashiers or bring back the self checkout.

My biggest gripe about Lakewood Marc’s was the lines and slow checkout. They installed self checkouts…problem solved. Today I visited and they removed the self checkouts. Marc’s management decides long checkout lines and slow service is a good idea. I’ll pass.

This store is filthy. All of the dairy tubs (yogurt, sour cream, etc.) had a dirty film on them. I bought a tub of cottage cheese, figuring i could just rinse the tub, only to discover it had already been unsealed and opened. I couldn't return it because the guy checking me out told me to swipe my card then quickly walked away and never returned to provide the receipt.
