Had a great experience at this location. We only rented for one day, because we ended up needing a rental car. But the service was Impeccable. There was a blonde woman that assisted us at the counter (I can't remember her name) She was so polite and made the process very smooth!

Kettering is AWESOME!! Now Dayton Mall is HORRIBLE!!! Our last 2 rental reservations were for the Dayton Mall location since it was the closest to our son's home in Miamisburg, only 1.5 miles. BOTH times we arrived at the Dayton Mall location for our PREPAID RENTAL and was told they had no car. The 1st time the lady said she forgot to call me and giggled about it. No offer to help find another location or put us in something different or later in the day. So I contacted the Kettering location on Stroop Rd. They didn't have anything BUT did some swapping and arranging to pick up another car for someone who had a later reservation and got us in one!!! This last time? Again was prepaid close to $600 and was told no car. The supposed "Manager" said if you make a reservation online in the evening (was made at 5-6p evening before as was an emergency trip) NO ONE is getting a car because HE isn't going to do it!!! Again, no offer to help find another location or go get one from another location so we would have what we paid for already!! Was absolutely rude and nasty to my husband!! Then when we contact customer service the representative was rude and nasty about it!!! Even hung up on me when I told her it was ridiculous to pay 100's of dollars upfront and to be treated so horrible!!! She.had the audacity to tell me that WE had NO RIGHT to be upset since it was made the evening before!!! Again, contacted Kettering and they were absolutely WONDERFUL, did some swapping, found another car for a later reservation someone had, and had us on our way!! Too bad they are part of Avis!! From now on all of our rentals will be through the Kettering location. Isn't worth the hassle for the Dayton Mall location. They need shutdown!!

Update: I emailed customer service like the representative below advised. 10 back and forth emails to even find my reservation and I got a "sorry, we're disappointed in the customer service you received too" email and they're closing the case. Even less impressed at this point.I booked a rental 45 days ago. Arrived today to pick it up and had to wait 30 minutes. The clerk wanted to give me a red car and I asked for any other vehicle because I really didn't want red. She said I had to take it, she had rented all the available cars this morning. She marked no dings or marks and said it was clean. Not true at all. There are scuffs and paint missing in multiple areas, the vehicle had not been cleaned and there was still trash in the front and back. I went back inside and told the clerk I wanted a different vehicle and she said no, I'd have to wait for them to just clean this one. I've now been here 90 minutes, missed my next appointment and am still waiting for the car to be done. I'm so disappointed and frustrated.

I had to rent a car from AVIS, my car was in the body shop for repairs. I initially rented on 6/19/23 - 06/21/23. I used the national number to rent the vehicle, and the rude gentleman asked me for my credit card. They charged me $250.00 for the three days, and I was told to ask if I needed to extend the rental to call back.He neglected to tell me if I prepaid that, I would be charged the total amount even if I didn't need the car for three days. I was also informed that I shouldn't have prepaid and that they could refund me. The repairs were finished on 06/20/23. When I went on the site to modify my rental, I had no clue I wouldn't be refunded the 85.00 owed because I turned it in early.Who runs their business like this? I will not ever rent from AVIS again and would advise people in the future to stay away from AVIS. The agent at the counter said she was sorry; it was company policy and added you have to read the fine print. Right? When you call the 800 number, they must tell you about their scam.

Rented a brand new 2023 Chrysler van and we got a flat and went to change it and there was no jack or spare in the vehicle anywhere at all!

Just returned my rental to Stroop Road location. Was informed because of dog hair they are charging me 125. My dogs hair less but when I told Vickie Johnson this she responds with you should have read the entire contract. She then said I could leave go vacuum and return but I only had 5 minutes. She also informed me I was lucky it used to cost 400. I have never been so disrespected. Beverly Galloway 478412480

My sister returned a vehicle today and was treated so poorly I cannot believe a company can employ a customer service rep that’s idols that horrible to customers.As a person in the customer service industry for over 40 years I would just close up shop if my employees acted that way.Please know everyone I come in contact with will hear this experience, and let me just say that’s going to be extensive I promise.

The worst customer service I have ever experienced in my life. They kept our deposit over 1 piece of dog hair that didn’t even belong to us… never using them again!

It was great to have a rental location right in our neighborhood and they did a great job. They even upgraded our vehicle. I would definitely rent from them again.

Currently broke down over 900 miles from home and pretty much told good luck finding a way home. Not how we want to spend our time away dealing with ridiculous issues like this.

Make sure you take lots of photos, every inch, possibly even video… and don’t let them get away with not going out and documenting with you. I informed them of damage when I picked up the vehicle and upon return they seemed unaware of that. i had to insist that I’d a) taken photos and b) that the clerk had kept a separate copy of the damage ( but didn’t give me a copy) … then they finally looked for another set of documents. Car smelled like majijuana upon pickup —didn’t offer to give me a different car either. Terrible experience.

they charged my credit card before the rental but also made it impossible for me to cancel the reservation. i will never rent another car with avis. worst customer service ever.

I have rented from this office many times over the past 5 years. I went to pick up the car on Friday after Thanksgiving. I was told they gave the car to someone else. My credit card was debited on Thanksgiving day. So I had already paid for the rental. I had to make another reservation 20 miles away. This process took an extra 3 hours of my day. In town to visit relatives. I am a preferred customer. So much for customer service.
