It's a welcome break area. Restrooms were reasonably clean. The building itself is in severe need of updating! It screams 1970! The truly and unimaginable mystery is the new entry areas constructed not long ago. Whoever designed it did an extremely poor job. I know the state was attempting to make it accessible to both lanes. But.... This design makes NO sense. It will forever be a mystery in my mind. Beware of entering and especially exiting this place.

This ODOT rest area is a decent option for a quick break if you're traveling on I-35 and miss the main entrance. Here's a breakdown of the good and not-so-good:
Easy access for missed exits: Great if you zoom past the main entrance. Take exit 213, turn right into the truck parking area, and follow the loop around to the car parking area.
Cleanliness: The restrooms were generally clean and well-maintained during my visit.
Basic amenities: It offers the essentials – clean restrooms, , and picnic tables outside.
