Our aunt passed away in another state and we had to use a local funeral hone to arrange embalming and getting her back to ohio and arranged a graveside service. Most of the arrangements went fine and the service was very nice and we returned home - a 16 hour drive. I had to go back to deal with property a month after the funeral and went by the grave. I was shocked and disappointed to see that the headstone my aunt bought for her and her husband was not on their grave but sitting askew across someone else’s grave - set aside when they buried her- and not engraved with her date of death. When the service was arranged I assumed - and expected - the funeral home in Ohio would have made arrangements locally for whatever was needed for the stone. We paid for their services and would have gladly paid for this as well. I called TBM funeral home and all they would say was “there was nothing in the paperwork about the stone” and that I needed to call the monument company. No apology for the oversight - no offer to help someone from out of state deal with a company local to them. I am disappointed with what I see as a lack of caring and customer service. If I hadn’t gone by to look the stone would still be unfinished and sitting across someone else’s grave. Rediculous!
