Buying my Blazer at Hometown Ironton was a great experience. The salesman, JP, listened to what I wanted. He was very patient and took time to discuss all my options. He also followed up later to see how things were going. I have recommended Hometown to friends and will definitely return for my next car purchase.

Find somewhere else to go. Typical car dealership with typical car salesmen. If you go, take lube, you'll need it. My temporary registration expires in 3 days. I'm not even in the system with the DMV. I can't get any help. Come to find out, my neighbor went through the same thing with Hometown and had to hire an attorney. I'm glad she and I have the same attorney. I regret my decision driving almost two hours to get there and spending 5 hours of my day there. Do not recommend.

Worst experience we’ve ever had with a dealer or car lot, if you want to call them that. Place is crooked as it gets. They do nothing but lie and try to screw people over. Like the car my wife bought, but as for the people there, CROOKS!!!!! Don’t listen to anything they say and do your own financing if possible. If you have any issues I would advise calling Waverly office because the woman there was the only honest and helpful person we got to speak with. She actually called back and did what she said she was going to do. Also, if we don’t get the other key that we were told that we would get, that’s fine, it would be just another one of the lies we were told.

The prize is valid B. Do i have to purchase to recieve prize? On every advertising it just says come to claim prize.Nowhere mentioning its a coupon towards your car sale.Stop spamming my mail with false advertising. The receptionists are always very nice.

??Hometown Auto; Ironton!! ???It's long but please read and share so no one else goes through this mess!!Last week we worked with Hometown certified pre owned in Ironton to purchase a vehicle. From the beginning we told them we had no interest in a car, we needed something bigger. When they called us last Saturday we were told we were approved and to bring them $1000 and we would be taking a vehicle home with us.When we showed up with $1k they told us they had got us approved for a car. (Picture below). We were told this was the only one they could get worked into our budget. We are disappointed at this point but we check the car out anyway and decide we're gonna go ahead and move forward with the car.Now we come back from a test drive only to find out that now we need 2K down, another misunderstanding apparently, cool, mistakes happen, but this is strike 2. We leave the lot Saturday putting the first 1k down and plan to return within the next 2 weeks to put the other 1K down.We spend this week talking to some banks and credit unions and were able to get a much better APR. I call the lot today to speak with the salesman and make him a cash offer of 17k, out the door. Returning the original 1k. At this point he starts asking me where I'm getting 17k. Well sir. You have the car listed for 17,183. I'm offering 17k out the door. He then goes to say "Oh, man. Someone is gonna lose their job bc this listed price is wrong it should be $19,183.00" I tell him that's not on me and they have to sell it at 17,183 bc that's the list price. He agrees and says that the mistake is on their end.He puts me on hold. 6 minutes later the call is disconnected.. ? A few minutes pass and His boss calls me and tells me the 17,183 is after a sale discount that they are having. Once again, no sir, you can see on the picture that you are required to enter an email address to get the SALE price. So, basically when they found out that we no longer wanted to finance through them, they tried jacking the price 2k saying it was listed wrong. UM, sir, i think your full of it. If it was a "sale price" than why would your floor manager freak out bc it was listed wrong. Why would he tell me someone is going to lose their job and be responsible for paying the 2K themselves?I then go bank forth for a few minutes with the boss, who keeps telling me that 17k out the door is impossible and that the listing is wrong, blah, blah.. I tell him that's fine, I'll come get the 1k I put down and take my business elsewhere. He asks me if I would like him to cut me a check, no, I brought you cash, I'll take my cash back. He tells me he will have to talk to them in Waverly and will call me when it's there. This was at 1:30pm. The lot closes in 8 minutes and still haven't heard a word from them. If by close of business tomorrow they haven't contacted and returned my down payment, come Monday we will be visiting with our attorney.Steer clear!! It's been a long time since a business has made me this angry. Total lack of organization and clearly when mistakes do happen, they do not care.UPDATE: Still haven't been called to pick up deposit. My husband called and now they are saying it will be mailed!!! That's not what I was told.

My grandmother who is 87 years old was taken to this car dealership by her grandson. She is old and was told to sign papers. Now the car is wrecked and she is stuck. She was leered in by a false advertising and her grandson. Quinten Smith was the sales person. Do not go to this place.

I went to Hometown Preowned carlot in Ironton, Ohio, after seeing their advertisement that said "your job is your credit." I was excited to see if I could qualify for a car loan with my good job history and income, even though my credit score is not the best. When I arrived at the dealership, I was greeted by a salesman who was very friendly and helpful. He showed me around the lot and explained the different financing options available. I was impressed with the selection of cars and the prices were very reasonable.I decided to test drive a car that I was interested in, and I was very happy with it. The car drove well and it was in good condition. I was ready to buy it, but then the salesman told me that I would need to have a hard pull on my credit in order to qualify for a loan.I was disappointed because I was working on buying a house and didn't want to add to my credit inquiries. I explained this to the salesman, but he said that it was company policy to run a hard pull on everyone's credit.I decided not to buy a car from Hometown Preowned carlot because I felt that they were being dishonest with their advertising. I would rather do business with a dealership that is up front and honest about their financing requirements.I would recommend that you go to a different car dealership if you are looking for a car. I have had good luck with CarMax in the past, and I know that they are a reputable company.

We went to the big sale Hometown in Ironton had in April 2023. We told the salesman we wanted to trade our 2007 Ford F150 and our payments had to be no more that $250 a month because we are both on SSDI. They sold us a 2020 toyota tacoma. I told them there was no way they could get us in it for 250 a month. The salesman got us financed and folded the contracts over so we could not see or read them before signing. They called us a few days later to tell us they got better financing and needed us to come back in to sign new contracts. At that time I was informed that my payments were going to be over $1000 a month. I told them to cancel the deal and give me back my truck we traded in and let him know what the salesman did and said. They called me back and said they were canceling the contract and would call me when they got my original title back. I have called them 3 times now and still no title. Was told today that it is in Ironton in the desk at the finance office. Be forewarned they lie like dogs and can not be trusted. DO NOT SHOP THERE UNLESS YOU LIKE GETTING SCAMED!!!!!!
