We did a 5-course meal experience and it was amazing. The food included scallops, octopus, duck and aged beef everything was incredible and the wine it was paired with was delicious. A must try if you are a foodie or wine lover.

My daughter and I stopped in at the Hudson location for some meats and other treats. Interseting set up reminds me of a soda fountain store with a counter instead with meats. We bought a variety of items from fresh ground beef to cheeses and sweet treats. My daughter picked a treat and they asked her if she wanted a day old one. Um NO THANKS!! Very off putting she is a kid not garbage can. Will not be back. Plus the meats are nothing special.

First of all advice for bar tenders at Farmers Rail please look up and acknowledge your customers instead of pretending not to see them !We are regular customers try to support our Hudson business but 2 times in a row tried to eat here say at the bar for lunch bar could not get waited on. I understand it’s busy sometimes but today only 4 people at the bar it took 20 min for the bartender to finally make eye contact with us and ask if we needed menus, something to drink we said yes please she gave us a menu said she’d be right back with waters to start walked away and then 15 min later my husband and I looked at each other and said let’s go somewhere else. Please will the owners either hire help or talk to your staff. 30 min sit time not cool it’ll start dim businesses real quick there’s other places to go. Making those expensive drinks is important but ignoring guests is just rude especially when we’re begging to make eye contact with you to get our order in. Still Hoping things change guys we want to try again sometime!

This place is cool! Popped in there today and spent 15 minutes talking with the owner. Quite a story of entrepreneurship! Restaurant and deli/grocery all in same location. If you like unique, fresh, farm raised and organic foods then then you need to visit! Great ambiance; full service bar. You can even choose your own steak from the cooler and they will cook it for you as you wait! Definitely worth a visit!

Their phone system was acting up (all calls went to voicemail) but they called me back almost immediately, and during dinner hours! even though I hadn't left a message. I placed an order and it was ready in 12 minutes. WOW. Food was top notch. Better burgers than Flip Side, and fries don't cost extra.

Super service! Went back to the rail on 9/22/2023. Salmon is honestly the best I have ever had. And I just had Salmon in Dallas last night at the Crown Block restaurant which charged $52 for it. The cauliflower rice was very good too! Mixed drinks were also outstanding. And eating outside was a real treat.

Update: the service and quality has really turned around since the opening. I think they struggled with employees and learning how to keep things going properly and well in the beginning. I finally tried the restaurant part of this but your shop. It was absolutely amazing. There’s salmon entrée was the best salmon meal I have ever eaten. I get salmon quite often all over at many different restaurants and this by far blew them all away. It had this amazing horseradish type sauce. I never would’ve paired a horseradish sauce with salmon. Usually I feel like it goes with beef, but it was perfect. It was coded and sesame. Seeds cooked exactly perfect not to raw not to dry and over cooked. It was paired with a cauliflower rice super healthy. I’ll definitely be back for that dish. I had their brussels sprouts appetizer which had a sweet-and-sour sauce on it and that too was delicious. My husband had the beef braised wonton rolls, the dipping sauce, and the rolls were to die for. Literally everything I ate was amazing. This is probably going to be one of our more frequently visited restaurants in the future. The only thing I had that was subpar was the mixed drinks that we got.I really want to give this place five stars. I’ve tried it many times since they’ve opened. What I have found is that the quality control is not very good. Sometimes I buy chicken and it smells fresh and other times I buy chicken and it smells like it’s too old to eat. I don’t want to buy chicken to cook for dinner that night come home and have it smell like it’s rancid. They need to pay closer attention to their quality control and dates. What I do like about this place is that they carry local meats grown in Ohio and the atmosphere is wonderful. I just hope they get their quality control under hand.

I was so looking forward to grabbing lunch here, but was disappointed. Service was slow and not the greatest ( asked for salt, but it was never brought to the table, no refills on drinks)but more importantly I asked for the burger be well done, but was told not to worry as since the burgers were “smash patties so they cook up quickly and are usually well done “. The burger came out medium rare. Now to be honest, the patties were not thin, but were thicker than described. The fries were fantastic. I will probably try a different restaurant next time.

Went for a burger, had heard good things, first time there. Sat down and our server filled our water glasses, and we both noticed the mason jar glasses were filthy. Fingerprints, greasy film, like they had never seen hot water or soap. Ever. Burgers (both) were cooked to leather. Server never asked how we wanted them, which usually means medium rare/medium, but these were both beyond well done. Overdone. Dry and crunchy. Fries were the tail ends, all the little short and broken pieces left over after the good fries are taken. Almost $50 for two terrible burgers and fries. It was one of those nights where we were tired and didn't want to get into sending food back, so we choked most of it down and left. So other than the fact it was dirty, bad burger, and bad fries.... Basically a $20 meal at a $30 address.

This is easily my favorite restaurant in Hudson, and one of my top 10 anywhere. The rotating specials are always good, and I’ve yet to try anything on the menu that I don’t enjoy. The bar is well stocked, especially if you enjoy whiskey or bourbon, and the bartenders are knowledgeable and friendly. I come here once a week, but I’d happily have a meal here every day.The grocery aspect is a plus, but not my main draw. That being said, if you’re looking for fresh fish, you won’t find a better variety than here. The steak and chicken offerings are also solid. The selection of artisanal cheeses, crackers and accoutrement make it the ideal store to stock up on charcuterie.Overall, I give the farmers rail top marks, and will happily be dining and shopping here often.

Such a great spot! The TFR burger was delicious. Will have to come back to sample some of the many meats and cheeses for sale. Pastries looked really good too.

I've been a fan of the Farmer's Rail family since buying fresh sausage and eggs from that little shack at the end of the Brunty's driveway. I've loved every new properties they've opened and frequent fairly often. So it pains me to leave this 2 star review of FR Hudson. Not sure what's happened lately as there are tons of 5 star reviews and the one previous time I was in things were great (although I was just shopping not eating). This time completely different. No one shopping + half the deli cases empty just led to a kind of weird, semi-empty kind of feeling. Sat at the bar for dinner. I ordered a drink then noticed there was a guy running a huge industrial snake down a drain in the kitchen. Not to mention whether this was advisable while dinner service was underway, the resulting smell was less than appealing while getting ready to order dinner. The guys sitting next to me (who seemed to be regulars of a sort) said something to the main bartender, who remarked something kind of implying probably shouldn't be happening during service, but had to get done sometime and as long as nothing came flying out, all good. Um.. yeah..Dinner I did the pick your own steak. Got led back to the meat counter to pick my steak, knowing I just wanted a small filet, but was pretty much told I had to go pick it out. Menu said steak cooked to order, grilled asparagus and mashed potatoes. Long story short after about 15 orders of burgers came out and nothing else (had I only known), steak came out. Cooked kind of okay - grilled asparagus was half charred and oily with most of them tough and stringy. and no mashers. Just 3 or 4 whole redskins that looked kind of like they were boiled then crisped in the fryer?Overall very disapointing. Menu wanted to portray upscale food + prices, where the crowd seemed to be a get drunk and eat a burger. Like I said - love the Bruntys and the FR franchise. More than anything, posting this in case mgmt has lost site of the location - just feels like it needs some love and/or a redo.
