Beautiful, I had bad luck with fish but that's probably my fault. Only gripe is no shade.

Incredibly cute place for the dogs! It’s an on-leash place but everyone had their dogs off-leash at the beach portion. Gorgeous land and the waters are just precious. Took my little girl there for the first time and she didn’t use her back legs but whatcha gonna do lol

This was quite fun! They even have a dock with a ramp so the doggos can get some elevation! So much room to run and swim. I don’t think the people can go in with them but I get it.
Great beach with a few shaded places for doggie moms and dads to rest

Our first trip! My senior bichon would only stand by me and sipped the water. I am glad I got to take him as he has a splenic tumor (and other ailments) so unsure how much longer he'll live. My 11 month old puppy goldendoodle was very timid of the water and would only walk along the edge and drink. Another dog wanted her to play in the water but she would not take the bait lol She did finally go out on the dock when I went.
I am ever so grateful for the patron who gave me the run down on the lake. They showed me where the weeds are in the water to know where it begins to drop off. They told me the lake drops to over 100 feet because it's a quarry lake. They pointed out the life preservers which are hundreds a feet away. It would make more sense to have them closer (i.e., two hanging from either side of the dock) in the event there's an emergency and you're the only one out there.
If your dog is not good on recall, I would definitely work on that because it's an off leash area with no fencing. The patron also told me the best days and times to come which will be perfect to get the puppy used to the water.
The patron also recommended bringing my puppy's favorite toy to train her and also warned to not toss too far if by chance she doesn't go after it. I'll be researching balls on a long rope lol
I did NOT like seeing that some patrons left their pets bag of poop lying under benches. People need to quit being lazy. There are disposal cans (with bags) on either side of the entrance so there is no excuse because you pass them on the way out.
You definitely want to have towels and a seat cover because the dust from the sand pebble rocks gets everywhere. It would be nice if they had a hose attached to a faucet near the restrooms so you can spray them off before getting in the car. Once they dry, dust flies everywhere. Thankfully I keep my beach blanket in the trunk.
Overall, it's peaceful and pretty clean (if people cleaned up after themselves).

What a beautiful dog friendly park! All the trails are nice and the lakes are pristine. I do wish the dog beach was completely fenced in.

Not my cup of tea. There was poop all in the grass on the way to the pond. Seriously, why can't people clean up after their dog? There is 2 shade awnings but that's it in terms of shade. No trees, just bushes around. If you are wanting to swim with your dog, this place is not for you. You can't even wade in the water with your puppers. Oh, and did I mention there is no fence. So if your baby is not good off a leash, this is not your place.

Perfect for our young puppy. When we went there were so many dogs. Probably 20-25 at least and all different breeds. German Shepard, goldens, labs, even a few pittys! Almost every dog was off leash and every owner was very attentive of their puppy and so kind. It is a decently long walk to get to the water but it’s perfect for our boy. Very clean, everyone cleaned up after their own pups. We will definitely be coming back.

This place is so nice for dogs! It's basically an off leash dog park on the water. It's the perfect space to get your doggo some aquatic exercise in the hot temps.

This is April 15th, 2024! beautiful day and poodles LOVE water!! Great workout for us both. Bathrooms are in a building and clean. Great quiet location. There are no wakes just paddle boards and canoes. Shade available to sit in some areas. Ticks are bad here, so bring spray and check your dogs. Dog swim area is not good for wheelchair accessibility due to gravel and uneven areas.
Toilets: Clean and in a nice building
Dog-friendliness: Dog swim area- it is not fenced but isn't close to parking. The pond separated the areas.
Picnic area: Plenty of picnic in shade and sun
