My experience started a couple of years ago and I'm still finding issues. Started when they installed my Stinger system and additional cameras: Front and Side. They got it wired and the head unit was bad (not their fault, needed an update). While awaiting the head unit my truck was left in an awful state. I don't recall everything but this is what I can recall: Cup holder had cut in it, not a small cut; wire from front camera was dangling in the front wheel well; they lost the rubber liner that went to a shelf under the radio; the front camera wiring in the engine bay was not secured at all. The passenger side mirror was loose and I took it back and they said it was fixed but it was not. Instead of taking it back, I decided to see if I could fix it. Turns out they had only reinstalled ONE of the four or five attachment screws... They also installed 6 speakers for me and immediately the driver door speaker sounded blown (Yes, 2 years is a long time, but I'm a person who does NOT blast their speaker at all. No reason for this to be bad this quickly as Factory speakers lasted 7 years at a minimum). The experience there was so bad it wasn't worth taking back. I took the door off today and even before I got the door panel off I noticed that they had only installed the trim push pins(?) on the side and didn't bother with the bottom ones. Although the owner is pleasant, the workmanship is not good. I would NOT recommend.

I've had audio systems for 2 vehicles upgraded by Mark and his installer, and both have been excellent! I brought my first car in and really didn't know what I wanted besides better. Mark told me he could switch out some components and he thought I would really be happy with it. He was right, it was amazing sound! So when I brought my next vehicle to him, he told me I know what kind of sound you like now so we can give you that again. He doesn't try to upsell anything, he just tries to sell what will sound great with each application or vehicle. I am 100% satisfied every time I take a car to Mark for audio upgrade.

BE CAREFUL! Wish I could provide a better review. Gentleman at front desk is nice but in my situation clueless. I scheduled to have touch stereo installed in 2006 Cayman to replace the working stock stereo. Arrived at scheduled time 10am and returned around 1205pm. Stock radio was still in car but not working now. I was not told this immediately, they were trying to get stock radio to work again. Then I was told they couldn't remove the stock radio. Then told no audio installation business would be able to remove my stock stereo and I would have to take to the dealer. So I left with NO WORKING STOCK STEREO, small dimple in my console due to worker and thinking I needed to go to dealer and spend $$$$$ to have a stock stereo removed. On top of all that I wasted 3 hours!WELL, AUDIO PLUS WAS WRONG!I scheduled an appointment with Hook It Up Customs. Well I didn't need a dealer to remove my stock stereo and Hook It Up Customs could not believe an audio business that says it installs audio equipment couldn't do this job! So if you want the job done right the first time, you might want to AVOID AUDIO PLUS in Harrison.

Worked great but 2 years down the line having to install new wire. Also felt like I was a little overcharged but given the situation it was probably about right.

I’ve had nothing but great experiences with this shop. Mark is awesome to speak with and very knowledgeable. He’s done me great on price both times I’ve been there. The first time was for a Sony double din XAC5500 and the second time was just this past week for a pair of kicker 3.5” and 5.25” for my Corvette. I’ll be giving them a call in about an hour when they open to see about getting a head unit for the corvette also. For me to shop here speaks volumes because I can’t lie I was best friends with Rick Spade in high school. I actually showed him how to hook up his first amplifier. Rick and I are like brothers still to this day and his mom and pops are my second mom and pops. Rick knows he’s my family and he also knows that sometimes he don’t have what I’m needing at his shop and he’s ok with me seeking out other small business owners to get what I’m after. Trust me Rick and his family are all about supporting local small businesses . I worked for his dad growing up who owned a small business doing concrete work. So anyways listen to what I’m saying here and support your local small businesses. If you want the ability to run down the street and talk to a knowledgeable human about what your needs are and then get what you want right then and there usually cheaper than the guys online that aren’t paying the overhead that our local folks are paying you will start shipping local and supporting wonderful shops such as this one. Anyways sorry for carrying on just letting you know I appreciate you guys and I 100% would recommend your shop for buying car audio equipment. I have not had any installs done so I cannot comment on that part but from the reviews I’ve read I’m sure your in good hands.

Let me state first that I was not compensated in any way for this review...it comes from the fact that few businesses are this customer friendly and efficient! Mark at Car Audio Plus is honest, down to earth, polite, quite electronically knowledgeable and FAST!!! And while he doesn't have a fancy show room like several other dealers I had stopped by or looked into, he got the job done at WAY below what I had come to expect after talking to other dealers. Here's the story, especially for GM truck and SUV owners! I have an older Chevrolet Suburban that had an old flat screen/gps/cd/dvd player radio that suffered from a common malady (see GM Suburban, Tahoe, Silverado blogs) of parasitic battery drain caused by the stereo nav radio, even when the ignition was off. I took it to a local GM dealer to have the parasitic battery drain problem diagnosed ($300) only to discover that it was indeed the radio and it was a common problem. Then I got the kicker! The dealer said those radios were no longer available from GM (which I had assumed, the vehicle was over 10 years old) but that they could get a remanufactured radio and they would install it for an additional $2700!!! Now the total was gonna be $3000! Since Bluetooth was NOT a part of my factory radio (BT came out in the middle of the year in which my car was built), I decided this was NOT an economical idea, nor a practical solution as I still would not have blue tooth! I researched several local dealers, and one in my old neighborhood in south Dayton, and found they were going to sell me a cd/dvd player equipped stereo radio for more than half of the $2700 Chevy was gonna charge. Then I thought, I'll give a local installer A chance. So I contacted Mark at Car Audio Plus in Harrison, Ohio and got an estimate on what I THOUGHT I needed, and he installed it in one day, for far below what others had quoted. Then I discovered, do to my horror, having not realized how things had changed in 12 years, that it wouldn't do what I wanted! I had ASKED for the wrong model radio!!! I called Mark back, told him it didn't do what I thought it would, and without flinching he said, Bring it back, we'll get you the upgrade you need at a slight difference in price, and I had a new, fantastic BT/ car stereo/nav system/ cd/ DVD player installed the very next day...NOW NOW THAT IS REAL CUSTOMER SERVICE!!! Other businesses need to follow MARK'S example!!! I HIGHLY recommend Mark and Car Audio Plus!!!

Got my car back and not only did my subwoofers keep cutting in and out but my car is losing all kinds of power and making weird noises when I hit the gas. Idk what they did but I think it’s safe to say they put some wires where they didn’t go. If I were you I would never visit this place and I would tell everyone you know the same thing. Be safe, get your speakers hooked up somewhere else!

I brought my car here for them to look over and help me find the cause of the poor quality I was getting from a previous “professional” installation. They wound up having to rewire the entire thing due to poor work & safety concerns. They were both very friendly, professional and the customer service is superb. Over the course of a cpl weeks we talked back and forth and never once did I not receive a call back and all of my questions were answered when asked. I wound up going back and bought a new amp and subs in which John did an excellent job in installing and tuning everything and made sure I was happy with it before I left. I highly recommend these guys and they’ll be the only place I go to for my car audio needs from now on.
