Adopted my handsome doodle mix from Animal friends! They are the sweetest most caring people you could meet. The facility is gorgeous and well operated and maintained. Adoption process was under 40.00 and he came fully vetted, neutered, and came home with 3 months supply of heart guard, flea and tick treatments, and send you home with a small bag of food. Truly blows petland out of the water. Come on down and find your forever friend.

This is the kitten we adopted from Animal Friends Humane Society on September 8th. On September 9th she had to be rushed to the emergency vet due to lethargy, straining in the litter box, and an extremely bloated abdomen. AFHS offered us an appointment at 10:30 AM on the 10th - this was not doable because she needed immediate attention. After a few hours at the emergency vet it was determined that she had Feline Parvovirus - a highly contagious and deadly virus. Bringing this kitten into our home put all of the cats in our home at risk of significant illness or even death. AFHS has declined my requests for any financial compensation for her veterinary bill which is upwards of 5 thousand dollars. This rescue has also been entirely negligent in responding to my attempts at communication. I would not recommend this rescue to my worst enemy - no ones animal should be subjected to the risk that my cats were. I am disgusted.

If I could leave this shelter a negative star review I would.. our dog ran away Tuesday morning and we filed a report with the police non emergency department Friday evening after we tryed looking for her during this time the police made an error and never reported our dog and our dog ended up at this shelter when trying to get our dog back they were very rude and unhelpful stating we would have to go through the whole adoption process and basically buy our dog back from an error out of our hands. When we contacted the non emergency police department they had tryed to get ahold with the shelter to let them know what was going on and this shelter did not pick up any of there calls. This is a family dog that we got after our grandma passed away so we all have an emotional connection to her. she is 16 years old and we are just trying to be able to spend the time we have left with her. Thankfully after an long emotionally stressful days of trying to get her back we were able to pick her up and only had to pay The adoption fee along with a fee for a chip because during our conversation with them they told us they were going to chip her without our approval. Big thanks to the employee who helped us get her back today I didn’t get her name but she seemed to be the only person who cared about getting our dog back where she belongs!!!

I went in to surrender a cat and they said they could not take her, gave me a paper sending me away. As I was leaving the cat got stuck under my seat and as we tried to correct it two ladies came out threatening to call the cops on me for abandonment. I wish I had a better experience but I will be taking my cat elsewhere and I’d recommend you do the same.
