Today I am thankful for having found a great car mechanic. I have been taking my vehicles to Leo at Campus Auto for a year now and he is the most honest, capable, speedy mechanic I have ever worked with. I took my SUV to a different mechanic who quoted me a RIDICULOUS price for broken AC. I don't know jack about cars but I knew this RIDICULOUS quote had to be wrong. Highway robbery. I've suffered 2 summers with no air because I refused to pay the cost of a black market kidney for some AC. The busted air compressor eventually caused a belt to burn out and my engine almost caught on damn fire two days ago. Leo fixed me all up for 1/5 of that other dude's price. If you live in Knox County, go to Leo in Gambier. He's a little grouchy sometimes but in the best, most endearing way.

The proprietor kindly fixed my car as I waited, shared useful information about the vehicle, and charged the most reasonable possible fee. Highly recommended if you are near Gambier!

Put the wrong oil in my car based on my saying it might be a particular kind (any shop should be able to look a car up to confirm which kind of oil is needed), and I didn't receive call when it was finished as I was told I would (I had to call back myself to be told it had been done some time ago).

Put the wrong oil in my car based on my saying it might be a particular kind (any shop should be able to look a car up to confirm which kind of oil is needed), and I didn't receive call when it was finished as I was told I would (I had to call back myself to be told it had been done some time ago). Update with photo: I posted this review months later because I called in for a separate issue - trying to give this place another chance- and was treated rudely by the receptionist. I got this message in reply. Apparently they assumed I thought bad oil was the cause of a current problem: “This is your invoice from days short of 8 months ago. Had we put the wrong oil in it you would have known way before now. I'd like to know how you know what kind of oil we put in it. We use a synthetic oil. Your vehicle over heated due to no antifreeze which my guess is you blew a head gasket causing water and antifreeze in your oil. This had nothing to do with anything we did. Please feel free to talk with the owner before you make any accusations toward us. We have been in business a very long time and have a very reputable reputation. And there is not a mechanic around that would agree with you being it was 8 months ago you were here for a oil change.†Unprofessional lot.
