Good course but the old guy who runs it is rude. Played it both cart and walking -- the latter of which we had the guy come grumble at us for playing too slow. My guy, if you tell everyone the morning of that it's walking only, it's gonna be slower. But, I like the course and it's well maintained.

I was there for an annual corporate employee appreciation outing, working as a photographer. I've done this for at least 4 years without ever having a problem getting a golf cart. This year, the owner lied to the person who coordinated the outing and said they didn't allow people who weren't golfing to drive carts. When I approached the owner to clarify, he finally told the truth, that they didn't have enough carts. But we booked and reserved those carts weeks in advance. Basically, he decided that one party in our group wasn't important enough to give a cart, gave it to someone else, and then made us walk the course with no notice, no sun protection, and no way to store water while out on the course. I asked for a maintenance cart, just get around, and was told no. Here what gets me: mistakes happen, that's fine. But don't lie and tell people different stories. Take responsibility for your mistake, apologize like a grown-up, and try to fix the situation. He did none of these things. I'd also like to add that, while the owner didn't know this, I have a sprained ankle that isn't done healing and the person who was riding with me to take photos has a bad back. So he made two injured people walk his course all because he wasn't brave enough to own up to his mistakes.

Absolutely terrible, incompetent customer service. Screwed up our reservations, couldn't get it straight. Then, an employee was constantly following everyone around telling them to play faster when we were literally stacked up on the group in front of us.

Horrible customer service. After 9 holes stopped at the club house to use the restroom , grab a hot dog and drinks. Dropped about $500.00 for the day for 7 of us. Was pretty much treated like garbage for stopping claiming we were holding everyone up. We were there for about 5 min . Even told the group behind us they could play through. Owner is a complete d***k basically said we have no common sense and every golfer knows you don't stop after 9 you keep playing . We did explain that we are not golfers , just a group of guys out for a outing trying to relax on a sat. Will never golf at this place again and I stress to others that if your looking to relax and have a relaxing time this is not the place. Totally ruined our day!

Thorn Apple Country Club was a disappointing course to spend a Saturday. I called ahead (because offering the option of booking online would probably cost ownership some time and money) and booked a tee time for 9 holes. When I arrived the owner scolded me for not following his "18 only" policy because I only booked 9 holes. Of course, he charges our group for 18 holes of golf even though we made it clear we only had time for 9 (just the typical kind of golf hospitality you expect, right?) The course was crap too

A great low cost casual course, perfect for anytime. The clubhouse is perfect for a quick drink and the course is well maintained. Friendly, honest staff. Great place! Will be back.
