Some background... I originally booked my rental through the Hertz rental center in Johnstown, OH. The manager at that location had an altercation with one the customers ahead of us that resulted in him giving our rental away and leaving us without a car for our vacation. He told me I could go to the airport in Columbus, OH to see if they have any available for me to pick up. The other employee there suggested that they give us a car that was not running (we overheard this information). I left this location without a car, because the solutions they were providing were not feasible for the timeline of my travel.
My partner and I then went online and saw there was another Hertz rental location in Gahanna, OH which was 15 minutes away and they closed in 30 minutes. On a whim I called them and explained my situation and asked if they had anything that matched what I originally booked. They told me they did and that they would stay over and wait for my arrival to make my situation right. When I arrived at the Gahanna, OH location, they had the car all ready for me and they were very apologetic and embarrassed about what had happened to me at the previous location. After nearly 3 hours in various Hertz locations, I finally had the rental I booked. The pick-up and drop-off process at the Gahanna, OH location was a breeze and to them I am extremely grateful. The car they provided was clean, and ran perfectly throughout my entire trip. They were clear and concise about the charges I would have since I was renting a car under the age of 25. Upon returning my vehicle, there was an additional unexpected charge on my account. They explained what the charge was for, but since it wasn't disclosed to me previously, they were kind enough the reverse it.
Overall, I had a good experience with the location in Gahanna, OH and I am very grateful for all their help. The pick-up and drop-off process there is extremely easy, and their customer service was incredible!

I am becoming SO FRUSTRATED with this location.1. I was provide a 4 runner with transmission problems2. I continue to ask for an invoice and resolution and to be followed up with. It has been 3 days now with me asking for support, getting nothing.3. I had to spend HOURS and miss work meetings in Chicago due to this location providing a lemon.4. Jessica (manager) always says “I will follow up with my RM and get back to you, I’m so sorry” and then does not follow up.Please make this a priority.

If I could give ZERO stars I would. I definitely don't recommend this company as a whole. I booked my rental a month in advance, I added insurance in my rental quote. I get to the location on July 26th (2 days before my trip), the day I was supposed to. For some reason they needed to contact my private insurance, even though I was requesting to use and pay for theirs. I gave no issue and waited while they called. I watched one worker pass a note to the other and then the one who received it told me I needed a credit card to pay for their insurance. I asked if they had took any money, I was told no. I ended up at Enterprise (who went out of their way to help me last min) less than 45 mins later getting a car. Aug 1st, I checked my back acct and Hertz had took out $85. I contacted customer service and was told it would drop off my bank acct in 24-48 hrs, but they couldn't explain why someone had placed a hold a week after I was denied for a car. 2 days later the money didn't fall off my acct, it cleared. I called Hertz back and this time the woman I spoke with told me she exhausted all options of tracking down what happened because she couldn't see where they took any money out my acct. After going back and forth onmy confusion with the gentleman telling me my money would be released in 24-48 hrs and her not seeing where they took money at all, she offered me a $50 credit for a future rental, but after this whole ordeal...I'd never use them or recommend them to ANYONE. I did contact the bank and it was a legit Hertz transaction that I had to dispute.

Stay a way from this company!!!I scheduled a pick up at 11:30 but I get out from the office at 12:50.They are not reliable and not always respond on calls and emails.Went twice at the office and found no one there, have to leave a message at Toyota service desk, but as I noted they never call me back. And the main reason I am writing this one star review is that they charge me with unbelievable amount for tolls fees. Although before I sign for a rent a car, I ask all question to avoid unexpected tolls fees and did get an assurance that not going to happen, and ... well ... it is happened.I have been charged around $130.00. for crossing through a seven tools stations.I checked online the tolls prices by station and found they over charged me (toll fee without EzPass was $20.00 but they charged me $36.90) also in the bill I have been charged three times for administration fee $9.99.I went to the office, call, send email (with evidence of my statement about my complain) and wait for one week but with no respond.Today I call them 10 times and finally had opportunity to talk with manager, but he said he can not do anything and he is sorry.Really?!!Stay a way from this company!!!

Horrible experience with Jessica. Our appointment was scheduled for 12:30 on a weekday where we took time off work to be here on time, but she’s not in the building. Convincing us over the phone that she’s right around the corner as we wait for 20 minutes. No respect for customer time.

Hubby booked a car for pick up at 8:30am. Luckily, he called at 8:35am just to confirm all was good and ready- a girl answered driving in her car and told him she’s “on her way to work” (keep inMind they’re supposed to open at 8:30?) but that she remembered seeing his reservation…. The address took us to the SWACO trash place smh- called and the girl told us they’re located inside Toyota Direct service center-just why? Got there and there’s literally zero indication that Hertz is there….. Ugh just do better Hertz. The rental car industry wonders why places like Turo are taking over.

This Location is now closed indefinitely. Rented me a vehicle with wipers that were well beyond needing replaced. Squealed across the windshield and didn't clear a thing. Nothing like an exciting drive through torrential rains in the mountains at night where you can't see a thing.
Location I took it to for return, that took over for Gahana, verified the complaint.

Two hours after I picked up the vehicle I was told that my insurance might not cover my rental. I had hoped that this would be checked before I took a Lyft from work to this place and left with the vehicle

Rented a premium car and got a Impala. Friendly staff at this location. Being a Presidents Circle member, I was hoping for an upgrade of some sort, but I at least got what I paid for. Note that all Columbus area Hertz locations are franchised. I always get upgraded at corporate locations.

Absolutely horrible. I had to use this rental company because of a car accident. First, the 2 men that came to my work to drop the car: one was nice-ish, the other was rude and condescending. Not a good start.Add to that, even though I was told by State Farm NOT to pay for anything as the accident was not my fault, the rude guy from Hertz informed me that because I only had liability on my 2008, that I had to put a deposit of $50+$18.99 a day. I could take it up with SF. Basically he talked to me like I was a second class citizen. Thanks buddy, you’re a real gem.Fast forward to the day they were supposed to retrieve the car. I was told they would be there at 3:00. Naturally, I was a few minutes early. At the 3:30 mark I start calling. Finally after about 5 minutes of listening to the recording, it allows me to leave a message. Finally at 3:45 I call AGAIN. Finally get a real person. He puts me on hold only to come back to say “Ohhh they won’t be there to pick it up today. BUT you won’t have to pay for the additional day!” Like that was even an option?!?!So, I waste about an hour and NO ONE from Hertz thought to communicate with me that they weren’t coming?!?!The ONLY good thing I can report is the car was very nice. At least there’s that.

They are always so positive and have a smile on their face! So pleasant to be around and work with. You can tell they are passionate about what they do, and who they serve. I would highly recommend this place to anyone and everyone! Don't go any place else to rent a car!!!!
