Gahanna is an awesome vet. We love Dr. Rich. The other staff is awesome. It might be a long drive for us but it is so worth it.

We recently took Rocket in for an emergency visit. We knew he was in pain, but we didn't know what was causing it. Dr. Clay was easily able to find the area of concern and prescribe meds to get him back on his feet. She could have easily racked up the cost of the visit with x-rays and blood work. It was obvious her only concern was for Rocket and not for upcharging. Outside of the office visit and emergency visit costs our bill was around $20 for meds. Thank you for your excellent care!

This vet office is just amazing. We've seen 4 different vets and the are always compassionate, smart, and communicate cost very conscientiously. They take the time to explain things. Even in the midst of covid and not going into the office personally for care I don't have complaints.

I was turned away from vet after vet for a surgery my kitten needed to save his life. Everyone recommended Euthanasia but I couldn't give up on him. The staff at Gahanna Animal Hospital heard my story and promised to help, they got him in the next day and the surgery was a success. they saved his life and I will be grateful for that forever. Huge thanks to everyone who was involved in our care there! I cannot recommend them enough!

Experience has taught us to see Dr. Rich. She actually does a physical exam of our pets when she charges for it, unlike some of the other drs who bill it w/o checking temp, heartbeat, etc. Yes, they still overbook and recently stop allowing online scheduling on their site (they're updating) and their prices are very high, but taxes are only charged for things like ear washes (epi otic $25). Rabies shots and the distemper shots are under $30, but a 6 pack of Heartguard costs over $60. One other thing to note, they don't have a universal microchip scanner, so our pets who were chipped at Franklin County Dog Shelter years ago don't show as microchipped. So I would hope they would purchase a scanner that reads ALL the different frequencies (125 kHz or 128 kHz) not just the iso of 134.2 kHz.

We have been going to Gahanna Animal hospital for several years, and a couple times we have been on the fence about returning. After our last experience with our 10 week old Australian Shepherd puppy, we will not be returning. Two separate doctors could not figure out what was wrong with our dog (who had a gagging/choking cough). They sedated him, took x-rays and put a tube down his throat thinking he was choking on something. After going there 2 days in a row, they told us to go to Medvet. We barely had the dog checked in and they immediately diagnosed him with kennel cough, which is one of the most common diseases in dogs. Our pup was treated at Medvet (which I highly recommend), however, his illness quickly progressed into pneumonia. He then had to spend 2 nights in the ICU, and let's also mention that this became very costly! With the experience level that should be at Gahanna Animal Hospital, this should have been quickly diagnosed and most likely could have treated before it became pneumonia. Sorry guys, but we can't possibly trust any of the doctors at this location. Hopefully this post helps others.

Since this is tagged as Doctor Rich I will have to give it a five-star rating because she is one of the most incredible veterinarians that I have been to from my ferrets to all of my dogs. She comes up with things revolutionary to solve problems and never fails at anything that she has tried. Sadly we were there and saw dr. Rausch again at this appointment. She speaks incredibly loud and talks over you. We had to put our almost 17 year old dog to sleep which was obviously an incredibly hard day for us and during what was a hard time she was rude and judgemental which made for the first bad appointment that we have ever had at Gahanna Animal Hospital. Of course we have had bad appointments like going through cancer Treatments twice and having to put other dogs to sleep but everything has always been professional except for our experience last week. Even in the quiet room where we were sitting there to say goodbye there were used dirty needles sitting on the table beside us from the poor family that had to say goodbye to their beloved pet before us.

What can I say? The staff and Drs here are not only wonderful they also are phenomenal. I am a Pet Sitter and I have cared for some of my clients pets and it was necessary to bring them in to Gahanna Animal Hospital to see their veterinarian. I have seen a variety of drs and they have been spot on with my clients fur babies. I had always been treated with respect, kindness and all around made to feel welcomed here. So when I rescued my kitten it was a no brainer! I knew that I wanted to bring my kitten here because I knew that everyone here genuinely has a desire to care and to love animals. I am thoroughly happy with all of the drs, nurses and staff. Everyone is very knowledgeable and helpful. The only difficulty I had was choosing the one veterinarian to be the primary for my sweet boy. Needless to say, I am very happy with this wonderful place. If you are looking for a veterinarian and crew who who are a knowledgeable, experienced and with a genuine love and care for your pet, look no further. This place is the best!
