It's a little piece of heaven in Ohio...
Laurie & Jim do everything they can to save Gods creatures and provide them a nice caring animal life.
So if you are looking for a lovely place to enjoy a petting zoo and the countryside and relax in cute wooden cabins.
This bed & breakfast is your perfect fit.
PS: Laurie, I love your breakfast! - Sooo yummy.

Awesome place. Definitely will come back.
If it helps, it's about 20 min from Cardinal shooting range.

Great, quiet place of respite...owners checked in frequently to inquire if I needed anything, very clean, and definitely worth a stay!

So...where do I start?
Our stay 5-28 through 5-30 was as expected...Peaceful and relaxing. The owners work so hard to make sure your stay is as complete and memorable as possible. Their hospitality is second to none. This is our second trip there and most definitely won't be the last.
The animals are so pleasurable to be around...it's like they appreciate you coming as well.:)
If you do stay...my recommendation is to purchase the breakfast delivery too. Everything was amazing.
Exactly what we needed.

I'm so thankful for Laurie and Jim, we had a wonderful stay at the serenity cabin for my birthday/Xmas. The suite was so comfy and welcoming. The place was spotless. The hosts made sure to let us know that they were available at any time we needed them. They have add ons you can include to surprise you loved one with something romantic like flowers, chocolate covered strawberries and others. They have areas for you to walk and see all the animals they had. We had hens in our front porch it was cute. Brought memories of when i was groing up in my dads farm. I think Humphrey is the other main attraction, he surely loves to be pet and talked to, he was a sweety. Also, when you come, make sure to read and leave your thoughts on the journals they have for guests, is a nice touch. I can't wait to visit this place again. Thank you guys. Mark and Leslie ❤️

We had a great time! Humphrey was our highlight of the whole trip. 7 month old Camel weighing around 500 lbs. Got to pet him everyday! All the animals were so cool but Humphrey stole our hearts. Thank you Laurie and Jim!

READ THIS REVIEW!!!Okay... found this suite on a third party website. Before booking anything I decided to read some of the Google reviews. Decided, after reading said reviews, to book the suite and couldn't be more pleased with our stay.To address some of the complaints... if the 'beds are to soft'... there may be some underlying issues you should address before posting a negative review. The beds were perfect. As of the 'it's to quiet' review... again... what exactly were you expecting getting a cabin in the middle of nowhere farm country? If you wanted some 'background noise' I'm sure there is somewhere in Franklin County that has a nice symphony of gun shots and loud music that could suite your needs. All of that aside, these people are wonderful. It's hard to express how wonderful they are but to say the least... we need more people like them in the world (Jim and Laurie Mooney). Every question we had was immediately answered. Every concern we had was immediately addressed. Basically, they went above and beyond to ensure our stay was perfect... and it was.The animals are beyond words. Jim and Laurie can help you if you're not confident with farm animals and if you are, they will leave you to your own and be standing by if you need anything or have any issues. I'd say the animals steal the show... but that would be an insult to the care and compassion that Jim and Laurie offer to every guest that stays there.Long story short (not to short obviously), the suite is exactly as described. The 'hosts' (i.e. Jim and Laurie) could not be more accommodating, available, and loving. The property is gorgeous and exactly what someone looking for a quiet weekend would expect. The farm animals are absolutely perfect and having Jim and Laurie help us navigate everything is invaluable. It is money well spent and you will disappointed if you pass up on the opportunity to spend time at this amazing bed and breakfast/resort.

My Wife and I stayed here while I attended Nationals and it is a peaceful place. And we didn't have to drive to some place to walk the dogs, we just walked them here and they enjoyed seeing the animals in the petting zoo.The cabin we stayed at was clean and the bed was comfy, had a coffee pot and fridge and tv. We enjoyed our stay and would stay here again. We didn't take advantage of the breakfast or massage services, but maybe next time.Nearby activities: The Cardinal Center

My boyfriend and I stayed here back in June while we were in town for a nearby annual event we attend. In our search for hotels we stumbled across Heartland, and were immediately interested; the cabin suite, property, and animals all seemed so charming. And they were! Our stay here was perfect, and I can't imagine staying anywhere else when we're in town again next year.We stayed in the Harmony Suite, and it was super neat, clean, spacious, and included everything we needed for our stay. Not to mention the hospitality! Jim and Laurie really did go above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. They were also available to answer any questions, and we got to chat on a few occasions while visiting with the animals.Which was one of my favorite parts about staying here: the animals! They're all super friendly and have their own personalities, especially Boomer and Blue. If Boomer had it his way, we'd be throwing his ball for him all day. We even got a visit from a friendly cat while out on the porch enjoying the fresh air, and he jumped right into our laps, purring as loud as can be.Next year, I definitely want to book a few extra days before or after our event so that I can really enjoy the property itself and spend a bit more time with the animals. I'm so used to staying at a hotel where you're really there just to sleep at night, and didn't realize how much of a nice, relaxing experience this place would be in comparison. I actually wanted to spend more time in the room or out on the porch- not leave it every morning to head to the event. This resort really is a hidden gem, and we were so lucky to find out about it and get the chance to stay here during our event. We're already excited for our next stay, and would recommend Heartland to anyone who has business/an event in the area, or even someone who just wants to have a relaxing vacation away from all the hustle and bustle of everyday life. The only thing we'd do differently next time is book some additional days, and try the full country style breakfast!

The night before our wedding and the wedding night, we stayed at Heartland Country Resort & Petting Zoo. The rooms are so private, cozy, and accommodating. We had a spa bathtub, cozy robes, a fireplace, and a kitchen. The breakfast in the morning was delicious!!! The communication between the owners and I was fabulous. But the best part? The animals and the petting zoo! The owners are so proud of their place and it shows completely in every little detail and how they want you to be a part of their farm when you stay. 5 stars!!! Can’t wait to go back! Perhaps for our anniversary!?
