June 1, 2024 I almost lost my dog due to the negligence and unprofessionalism of the staff at the Vetco Clinic located in Elyria, Ohio. During the appointment, a veterinary assistant restrained my 10 pound non-aggressive dog so tightly that my dog stopped breathing. None of the "professionals" at the clinic recognized my dog's signs of distress until I called out that my dog's tongue was plum/blue color. This level of restraint was entirely unnecessary and demonstrated a clear lack of proper training and awareness regarding the handling of small animals. The incident was not only traumatic for my pet but also for me as an owner. Additionally, there was an overall lack of empathy from the clinic staff. To make matters worse, the clinic later submitted fraudulent paperwork that inaccurately documented the events of that day. This unethical behavior further eroded my trust in their practice and raised serious concerns about their integrity. The health and safety of our pets should always come first, and unfortunately, this clinic failed in their duty of care in a profoundly distressing manner. I hope this review serves as a cautionary tale and prompts the clinic to reevaluate their practices to prevent future incidents.

Would not recommend this clinic. I scheduled an appointment that was confirmed by the clinic. When I arrived, she let me know that the doctor was gone for the day and that she had left me a voicemail an hour before my appointment. I drove 40 minutes just to be turned around. No one listens to voicemails in the 21st century. Try calling multiple times next time. There will not be a next time for me at this clinic.

The vet didn’t even see me which I would have thought it would be a better practice if I could at least see that there was an actual vet (even just to say hi) to know the services were legit which I question whether the $69 wellness exam was even done. Also, the prices in the clinic were different than what shows online which I find to be frustrating.

My pet who wasn't using the litter box or eating was diagnosed with "mood change" due to a litter box change. They did a blood work on him but no suggestions to do any image testing and I left with a recommendation to get him to eat. They said they would send me a prescription for an appetite stimulant which they never did.I wasn't convinced by that and didn't want to wait for him to start eating again so later that day I decided to take him to a hospital for extra tests and he was diagnosed with late stage heart failure and unfortunately passed away.

Love the vets and employees here. But they did cancel my appointment without letting me know due to vets availability. Apparently they canceled it weeks prior and didn’t get around to letting me know. Very inconvenient.. so if you don’t get a confirmation text a couple days before your appointment make sure to call…

I would not recommend this clinic. I have taken my puppy twice for her rounds of vaccines and the vet, Jonah Firestone, does not care at all. He keeps referring to my dog as a he, when she is a she. He keeps telling us that we need to work on training and obedience, when she was potty trained, crate trained, and responds to commands quickly before we even went to him. He did not care to ask how she’s doing, nor care to notice she was cool, calm, and collected in both her visits. He kept telling us that she was nervous and anxious when she was sitting wagging her tail and letting him do whatever he needed to her, while remaining perfectly calm. Jonah does not care, it’s sad to see as our little girl is doing such a good job and is discredited by someone who doesn’t care to pay attention. His vet techs tried to upsell us on medications and vaccines and when asked what they do, they didn’t even know and had to look it up.The only good thing about this place is the receptionists. They are fantastic.

I scheduled my appointment a week in advance to have my dog checked if she’s pregnant and receive vaccinations. on the day of the appointment, I was told they were unable to get her into an exam room to check about pregnancy due to it already being booked. the doctor, could only look at her and give me a guess that she may be pregnant therefore not providing any vaccinations. No checkup was done and nothing that we came in for was serviced or completed. then was told I would be charged $75, when asked why the lady at the front desk told me because I saw the doctor and talked with her. I live 30 minutes away and this was a complete waste of time. The only good part is that I had the coupon that allows for a free head to toe check up.

Great doctor! Great staff. Dr Firestone explains very well in understandable terms, and has a very calming demeanor that relaxes pets

The doctors seem to change up often and the hours are not every day. Also, they give you an “estimate “ for you to approve before they will have the doctor see your pet. I do t care for that at all. If you don’t sign, they won’t look at your pet.

I love this clinic. They are so friendly and quick and caring. Dr Firestone is a wonderful vet and I have been totally happy with their services. This is the 3rd time I have taken my puppy to see him.

Took in a stool sample at 10:30 on Saturday 12/30 and when I finally called after 5 pm was told couldn’t get a response from the team and we’re closed the next 2 days. Will find another vet who will answer my questions because I never got a call back from them. When I finally heard back on Tuesday with a passive aggressive reply about the lab being closed for holidays (which I should have been informed up front) to two prescriptions would be waiting and wouldn’t you know the office doesn’t have them and the receptionist is playing vet and telling me that I don’t need what the vet says I do so I left with no prescription but looking for a vet.

I am more than disappointed with care from the vet here. We came in for a check up and shots and paid for both. Though the shots were fine, they did not do a check up at all, they asked if there were any issues and that was it, did not check his ears, his tail, ask any questions and only spent about 5 minutes in the room including the time to receive shots. The nurse was kind and helpful, but that veterinary lady was rude and not thorough or caring with my pup. Had to go to a different vet to get an actual check up and pay twice so thanks a lot. Turns out our pup needs further treatment but the vet was to inconsiderate to care for my pup. Just because we are the last appointment of the day does not mean we don't deserve the same level of care as others. I would leave no stars if I could.
