I've been taking my car here for over 20 years when Garry was the owner. Everyone has always been nice and I trust my car with them. Even now with the new owner Gavin, the same honest to good service is still there.

Highly overpriced- $115 for a 30 minute diagnostic service is quite steep. You can take it somewhere else for free or even the dealership for cheaper than that. I got the exact same information from autozone fixfinder for free. I asked questions about their findings and the price, but did not receive any answers.
Additionally, the estimate was over $600 more compared to other estimates I received. I also received additional information about whereas pleasant run service center was not able to diagnose all of the issues or answer questions. When I asked about the price being $115, the manager said it might include the mechanic clearing out the error codes from my dash and went to ask. The error codes had not been cleared however the price stayed the same and i never received an answer. However he did change the amount of time he said was spent on the car. Originally he told me it was 30 minutes but when I questioned the price, he changed it to 60. I also would not have wanted the codes cleared so if you go here, be sure to tell them that if relevant. Also, when I dropped off the car, he implied it would be considered a check engine diagnostic service because I was bringing it in for lights in my dash. However when I brought this up, he said that my engine light wasn't on so it was considered something else. I had told him it wasn't on when I dropped off my car, so it is difficult not to be suspsicious.
Update in response to the manager's reply: I did question the $115. I did not bother to question the estimate because I already had researched the average cost to fix it and found that the estimated labor costs given by Pleasant Run Service Center were quite a bit higher than the national average and figured it wasn't worth the bother to argue about it. I did not ask if the engine light was on; I referenced our conversation from the previous day in which Gavin the manager had referred to it as a check engine service. Gavin did walk out a second time to ask his mechanic, however this was after I referenced our previous conversation - he walked out, came back, & said the check engine light was not on so it was considered a different diagnostic. He did bring up clearing the codes after I asked why the price was $115. I am not sure why you are being dishonest about that in your reply. The lot was also not full when I dropped off my car. The autozone fix finder also diagnosed it as an error with the ABS control module - if Gavin had actually read the paper, he would have seen the error code which referred to this, however he never did more than glance at and push it back to me. I was not necessarily looking for a free option. Some places do offer free diagnostics, but my point was more about being upfront about the cost. I also don't have a husband & quite frankly it is very weird to bring that up because neither of those men are me - the actual customer. Just because Gavin & his dad spoke to my boyfriend instead of me, that doesn't mean anything about MY experience. My boyfriend gave me a ride to pick up the car, but it is my car and I pay for it, not him. I make decisions, not him. I had previously not mentioned this in my review because I was trying to be as objective as possible, but it did truly bother me that Gavin and his dad spoke to my boyfriend & made eye contact with him instead of me, & referred to him as a decision maker. Although I am a woman, it is my car and I make my own financial decisions.
I received a voicemail from Gavin yesterday 5/22 offering to refund half of what I paid in exchange for me deleting my review. This made me feel deeply uncomfortable - I posted my review to share my experience and to help people decide if they would like to use this company, and I would not feel right taking money to delete it. If anything, it leads me to view the company as dishonest.
I also don't appreciate that he posted info about the type of car I drive in his reply- feels sketchy

Gavin and the guys at the shop are top notch! I found them when I moved over to the fairfield area and my dad and brother have followed suit with getting the work they need done at this shop! They always have our vehicles running great and ready quickly! They're very reasonable and fair with pricing and extremely honest! We've had nothing but great experiences with them and would HIGHLY recommend them to anybody needing a good mechanic!

I had a power steering pump installed at Pleasant Run and when I first got it back, it seemed ok but as time went on, steering became more and more difficult. I took it to a different shop thinking I needed a new rack and pinion but they found that whoever installed the power steering pump didn't bleed the air out of the system. Cost me another $218. Won't be back!Service: Steering & suspension repair

100% quality service at Pleasant Run Service Center ? I needed an honest & trusted experienced car mechanic to check my 17 year old car & I knew from taking my car there for the last couple of years with excellent customer service that I could trust that Gavin & all the team would examine my car and tell me if it was okay or not to drive. I called the shop to see about having a serpentine belt installed on my car that had broken there was also an additional repair that they had to make. they not only were great on the phone with me but were able to get my car in very quickly within hours they did an excellent job, and I couldn't be more happy with this company.
