My father was a loyal Allstate customer for many years. He passed away last January. I contacted the Mike Hild Agency to inquire about a prorated refund on my father's auto and renters policies. They sent the checks written out to my father. Unfortunately, the banks won't allow me to cash/deposit the checks. The checks have to be written out to me. I contacted the agency and they requested a Power of Attorney document in order to reissue the checks in my name. I promptly provided the Power of Attorney document. I contacted the agency 3 months later for a status. I was told they can not reissue the checks with no explanation. So I have two checks I can not cash/deposit and the agency apparently had no intention of contacting me.I contacted the Allstate corporate office. I explained to them the situation and provided the Power of Attorney document. I'm waiting to hear back from them. Up to this point, I have not been told by the corporate office that they can not reissue the checks to me.As far as the Mike Hild Agency is concerned, the service I received is either lazy or incompetent or both.UPDATE: The response below from Michael Hild is pathetic. I most certainly did provide all of the documents requested (Death Certificate, proof of executor, and Power of Attorney documents via emails). Your agency is my point of contact and to whom I'm providing information for the refund. Therefore, you are the conduit to corporate and responsible for communicating the information correctly. Likewise, I expect your agency to be providing updates on the refund when they become available. No one from your agency contacted me. I contacted your agency for an update. The update I received: we only issue checks to the name on the policy. That's ridiculous. In this case, you're attempting to blame me and corporate for your incompetence.

Very friendly,helpful,knowledgeable staff. Everyone who spoke with me or I seen were excellent representatives of this agency. It was hard to find it because there is no Street sign and residents said it's because West Milton,Ohio 45383 is actually a Township and that a street sign was not necessary since there is only one house and technically is a dead end street none was needed. This agency is located there. Google Maps just has it listed as North, no St., Ave., Rd., nothing just refers to it as North. The residents of West Milton,Ohio 45383 do what they can a lot of hard workers farmers, iron workers, you would be surprised how much they contribute to the Miami County, Ohio. With no help from Miami County, Ohio. I contacted Waste Management of Miami County, Ohio about a bulk pick-up and the woman who returned my call told me harshly that "I would have to contact FISH of West Milton,Ohio 45383 because West Milton, Ohio is a Township and Troy Ohio Waste Management even pick trash up there. I contacted FISH of West Milton, Ohio 45383 and was informed that the older gentleman retired and someone else bought it. West Milton, Ohio and Troy,Ohio and Tipp City, Ohio are only ten maybe fifteen minutes if that from each other but many residents have to rent dumpsters in the Township of West Milton,Ohio 45383 because Miami County Waste Management of Troy, Ohio won't pick it up ten fifteen minutes away, another thing is West Milton, Ohio residents don't even have sidewalks, or street lights for the residents.

Unfortunately this email will probably get lost in the positive fluff. I was a Allstate member since 1983 and have always praised my Agency and their support. All things change last year and 1/2 when my wife struck a parked motorcycle and my daughter was an accident where a metal piece fell off a truck. Our rate almost double. My problem wasn't the change (initially) of the rate, but how we were communicated and supported. We never had Mike call us back and explained to us what had occurred especially after we expressed our displeasure. He's been totally unprofessional and not present through all of this and really makes me fear where his intentions are with his clients. I would not recommend using this AGENT- He's not a representation of "In Good Hands". He surviving off of older relationships and the Allstate name. I would've stayed with Allstate, but would never recommend him to be anyone's agent.

I had used this agency and had a very poor experience. I carry many policies with them ( Allstate) but they were NOT transparency. For my auto, I had asked for $0 deductible glass policy and they sold me one but then I found out it was $0 was only for repair but not replacement. This is not what I asked for but salesperson made it feel like this is the one I need. I feel disappointed that the saling agent did not disclose these information but rather offered me cheaper policy to get my attention but hided the details. It was not a miscommunication as we were very clear and talked about the auto glass coverage and why I need a $0 deductible. As a customer when I asked for $0 for glass, it means all glass needs. She wanted to sell me more policies that I did not need or ask for. She just wanted to sell more and that was including pushing me to buy umbrella policy. I feels they get more commission by selling more rather than taking good care of their customers needs. The sale person supposed to cancel my old policy but she never did and I ended up paying for 2 active policies at the same time. Even after I found this out, she fails to refund anything.Adding to that, I requested a home policy to start on certain date while salesperson started it immediately without my agreement. Another tricky move! then i need a rental policy and I obtained a quote from them then I found out that the salesperson had me on a different policy that was double the price and was not agreed on. After all these frustrations, I spoke with the office manager who stated the owner will reach out and YES, he never did!Very disappointed with this agency and they way how they treated me. They were not honest and they just want to sell you any policy. I would not recommend this place but rather get your policies from other agent that you can trust and they will serve your best interests 1st AND protect yourself from these policies with “hidden details and fine prints”.
