We have been at Hawthorne Commons for a year now and feel very fortunate for the opportunity that came about which allowed us to move into the community. We built our house and lived there for twenty years, but upkeep is always a player with ownership, and we felt it was time to sell and find somewhere that provided upkeep for its residents. We didn’t come from an area that offered 55+ communities, so this was all new to us. When we initially met Paige and looked at a model unit, we immediately knew this was the scenario we were seeking. Dublin offers about anything you’re looking for and we are extremely happy with the health care that is offered in the area. We are also happy in finding a church which has welcomed us and we already have made many friends there. We are so much more involved socially then ever before and the staff and the friendly residents at Hawthorne Commons have made that possible.

My mom recently moved out of Hawthorne Commons. The places look nice but are poorly constructed. She went without a shower for weeks due to frozen water line. She constantly had mice. Paint peeling on the front and back doors due to water. We found droppings everywhere when we moved her out (bedroom, lined closet, pantry).

December 23, 2019: We had heard some time ago about Hawthorne Commons with some casual interest but never visited it. We had no plans to move but, on that day, out of the blue, I said we need to check it out We did just that and signed up for our new apartment that day! We moved in February 14, 2020 after major down-sizing. Here is why we love our new home.Hawthorne Commons is in Dublin, one of Central Ohio’s finest communities. It is tucked away among residential communities providing a sense of semi-privacy. All the retail stores and services we need are nearby and I-270 is a short distance away. We are within walking distance of a lovely park and athletic fields and have onsite entrance to extensive walking and biking trails. Our apartment is more like a patio home with 2 bedrooms, 2 ½ baths and an office. It is all one floor, no steps, and includes an attached oversized 2-car garage. Vaulted ceilings and abundant well-placed windows provide a bright and open ambiance. There is abundant closet and storage space, excellent internal lighting, and many electrical outlets. The kitchen and bathrooms are sizeable with modern stainless appliances and marble countertops. The wood laminate floors are extremely easy to clean; our Robot Vacuum does an excellent job. There is a nice rear patio in the back, ours overlooking a pond and fountain. And most significantly, there is a free maintenance service that is competent and responsive. And, we have none of the typical homeowner’s worries – furnace, roof, painting, wet basement etc. You know – What come next and how much will it cost?Hawthorne Commons is true community of active seniors 55+ who are friendly and have common interests and concerns. Many social activities are planned by management and residents. We have an attractive, well-appointed Community Center with a large patio, well-equipped fitness center, computer room and multi-purpose room. Our on-site manager is pleasant, competent, and responsive and a concierge service is available. All landscaping maintenance is provided by a competent and reliable firm.We feel so fortunate that our “out of the blue” visit has resulted in a new home we absolutely love.

Top notch apartment community for those 55 and older. Very active social life, friendly residents and great staff. Beautifully maintained grounds and buildings, convenient location and nice amenities. Very condo-like without the investment.

I look forward to participating as a member of the newly forming Residents Activities Committee.I also wanted to take a moment to thank Paige, Annette and Joey for making Hawthorne Commons a great place to live. I am coming up on my first full year here and have participated in a number of social activities with more to come now that the pandemic restrictions have begun to be lifted. Paige Fletcher and the staff's effective coordination and leadership have made it truly enjoyable. I have recommended Hawthorne Commons to a number of folks and have shared with them that it is by far the best option of all the others I could have chosen in the greater Dublin area.Once again thanks to Paige and the rest of the staff for doing what you do and I look forward to working with you and my fellow neighbors on the RAC..Best Regards,Brad Mathers

Hawthorne Commons is a great place to live. The owners/managers come to our community events and attempt to know all of the residents. Even with Covid they have “treated” us with surprises and caring gestures even tho we can’t meet indoors like they planned. We are fortunate to have Paige as our on-site staff person, who truly knows us all by name and face (even with masks) in the Dublin location! Repairs happen quickly and they listen and know our needs and concernsThe neighbors are amazing. Everyone waves and speaks as we walk by one another’s apartments. Many of us get together and look out for one another. We look forward to many years in our apartment

This is a senior rental housing development. It's extremely ugly and looks very cheap. Buildings are right on the street. Almost no green space except places where they could not build. I don't know how they got approval to build it so cramped. No pool. Not even a Jacuzzi. It's an unbelievable rip-off! I called to check on the rental price, and a one-bedroom is $3,000 a month. I asked why that ridiculous price, and she answered they'll change your light bulbs for you. You could hire a hell of a lot of people to change light bulbs for the extra $2300 a month they are charging over what it's worth.

I had a house on two acres in Delaware, about five miles north of the Columbus Zoo. At 80 years, single, it was getting too much to take care of and dangerous driving six miles for groceries and doctors in bad weather. One of my daughters recommended I look at the Hawthorne Commons apartment complex. For me, the move to Hawthorne Commons was a game changer.

This apartment complex rate a high 10 + in my book. It is large and feels like a home not and apartment. Love the attached garage. It makes it very comforting, when have to go out in the cold. Soundproofing is great you never hear your neighbors.
