Yet another PP (Preservation Park)! As a Rock and Nature Freak, I am at peace here. And am a frequent visitor.
Toilets: I believe that the restrooms are in or near the Visitors building..?

Great park for hiking the trails or exploring the creek. The lower area by the creek has a lot of fun activities for the kids. Good alternative to highbanks when you're looking for something a little less crowded. The goldenrod in the meadows is beautiful in the fall and there are quite a few deer in the park, too.
Located in a rapidly growing area of Liberty and Orange townships, Shale Hollow Park is named for the curve in the tributary to the Olentangy State Scenic River that runs through the park, and for the shale evident in the cliff walls and stream bed.The Shale Hollow stream winds along a twisting corridor consisting of 20 to 40-foot-tall shale cliffs and a stream bed. You can see many remnants of concretions (round rock formations) in the cliffs and along the stream bed. There are also intermittent waterfalls in the park.Visitors will see a mature white oak forest in the eastern half of the park, along with large stands of hickory and maple. Spring wildflowers include the large white trillium, blue cohosh, and yellow-trout lily.
