We paid them $450 to do a 30 minute job. They missed a hue tax credit that we later learned we were qualified for. We went back and asked them to make an amendment and they said we would have to pay an additional fee, because we didn’t pay extra for the “peace of mind guarantee”. What?! Who makes a customer pay extra to guarantee they actually do their job right? As if $450 wasn’t robbery already!
I will never use their “services” again.

Went in March 2022 for a final return for a deceased loved one. While the form was, as far as I can tell, properly prepared, the tax professional refused to sign the formatted version. She told me the IRS would process what she signed. I was to mail in an unformatted one clearly labeled do not submit.
End result, I'm still awaiting the refund on a very simple return over a year later, the estate is still in probate costing bond and attorney fees, I've had to try multiple times with more senior tax preparers at other locations to at least get a status, and with the assistance of a tax preparer at another location I've had to provide more documentation to the IRS that was apparently missing. I've also had to go to the IRS taxpayer assistantance office personally and ask for the assistance of an taxpayer advocate after numerous follow ups with no status or resolution.
I would have been better off accomplishing the return myself or using commercially available software like TurboTax.
The reason you go to a tax professional is for assistance with unusual or complicated returns, but in my case that was less than helpful. Part of the issue here is the IRS, but this shouldn't have happened to begin with.

Awesome service, friendly people, walk you through so you know what to expect from your tax return. Answer all questions I have, they show me they care about me and my refund. I strongly recommend them to friends and family members to get their tax return file with H & R Block.
