If I could give less stars I would. Staff is rude, follows you around and wants to take any bag you have except women with purses... Because apparently you cant steal unless your bag is a tote or a shopping bag from another store. The man that works there is creepy and makes it worse by following women around the store, which I get it's for loss prevention but maybe don't glare at women and make it so obvious that you looking at them. This place should be shut down just for the way it's ran. I seen the post about they don't want merch stolen... Do you think any other store wants things stolen?... It's the risk you take when you have a business, taking peoples property/bags just to look around a store is nuts to me and just about every other normal person. 10/10 would never suggest anyone going to this place.... Suggestion would be, if you're going to have someone follow women around the store, maybe get someone who doesn't look like they are up to something themselves.

As an employee, I just want to say customers have been incredibly rude and oppositional regarding our tote bag and backpack policy. It is my job to make sure our dealers don't lose their merchandise. I used to just be another customer, but now I am an employee and I understand why we have to enforce these rules. I try to kindly ask people to either put their bags in their car or let us keep them up front but I've had customers be rude. As a former customer please don't listen to these negative reviews. We have these rules for good reason. Some dealers make a living off of this and we can't have them loose their merchandise. That's incredibly mean to them and the work they do to source those items.

The staff is hypervigilant in following customers. The management is fully intentional and unapologetic about it as the behavior is rock solid consistent over time. I was a dealer when Merrill opened on Sandusky St. In all my time with him, I had one thing come up missing. I survived. Since then, the value of antiques has drastically fallen. When I do a show--always by myself--I never worry about my booth when I go to the restroom. The concern for theft is way out of kilter with where ordinary antique customers are and who they are.

I spend way too much time pouring over the extensive historical postcards collection and have purchased a fair few. Despite being an antique mall, the store is extremely well merchandised and it’s easy to find what you might be looking for. We visit often.

The store is filled with a large variety of antiques & that's the best part. However, the woman who owns the place is crude! She approached a customer at the counter& abruptly accused her of not paying the full amount with her CREDIT CARD the last time she visited the store. The customer stated she paid the full amount on the receipt in CASH. The owner then retracted her statement & then said, "Oh yah, that's right. The employee who checked you out rang it up wrong, & you need to pay the difference." The customer said she wasn't going to pay that, as she already paid in full the amount that was on her receipt. The customer went on to explain that she has been shopping there for years. The owner agreed & said that she told her employee that this customer is a good & honest person. Then the owner pressed the customer again stating she "needs" to pay the difference. Again, the customer refused to pay as she already paid the full amount that was on her receipt. That's when the owner became verbally abusive, irrational & discourteous!! She insulted the customer by calling her a thief, threatened to call the cops, told her to leave the store & not to come back, & refused to allow her to purchase her items. The entire time the costumer remained calm (I know I wouldn't have been!). As the customer left the store, like she was impolitely asked to do, the owner yelled, "I hope you can't sleep!" Frankly, if your employee made the mistakes that's NOT the customers fault! Plus, when you purchase items from this store, they remove the price tag as they ring you up & there is no way for one to check--other than what's typed on the receipt--if they over or under paid! So watch yourself if you choose to shop here!!!!
