Wendell’s came highly recommended and I turned around and recommended them to a few friends. Friendly, experienced, responsive, knowledgeable. All my questions were answered and I felt like any customer — not a “woman” who gets gouged in pricing. Great work and great pricing. This is my new go to for automotive needs. My family had an incredibly unprofessional experience. Took my car in and was told it would be 2-4 days due to what needed fixed (we had an estimate from a dealership so we already knew what it needed) but I am no mechanic. Fast forward four days and they hadn’t touched the car. After several calls, they said they were behind. While I understand that, there was no communication on their end to let us know before we called.
Fast forward another few days and we reached out again, just to be told they were still “testing” things. We reminded them that we knew what it needed and thought they were waiting on parts. Yesterday Monday July 16th, they said they’d order parts and it would be just under $3,000. Less than 24 hours later, they call back and say it’s going to be over $4,000 which is way over our budget. At this point they had the vehicle 7 days, meaning I was unable to work, as my job is delivery/courier based.
Due to the frustration of this being the fourth set of eyes we’ve had look at it, already knowing what was needed, we made the decision to go pick up the car. At pickup, we were told that there was a $195 diagnostic fee and $11.70 (plus tax) part fee. Not only did they never tell us what “part” they charged us for, but a diagnostic fee was never discussed. While I understand this may be common practice, it’s always understood and agreed upon up front. Again, they had the vehicle 7 days, meaning there was no way for my finance to have made that $220 to pay. When confronted with that information, we were told we either had to pay the fee today or pay additional storage fees. Though it seems as thought that’s exactly what we were charged since it took them 7 days to make any sort of diagnosis.

I used this shop for 5 years, but in the last year and a half I've had a brand new CV axle fail, another improperly installed, missed bolts on a strut tower during reassembly, 3 trips for a water pump replacement that failed again after 17 months and was told its out of warranty. Used to be my go-to that I'd recommend but lately the service has gone downhill, from incorrect timelines to bad quality parts and poor installation. Would not advise using them.

Will traveling from Michigan to Ohio our check engine light came on our Rv. Jason was fantastic! This shop does not take advantage of you. A repair shop with integrity and knowledge.

Repaired air conditioning in my Tahoe quickly , replacing evaporator and fixing several leaks in 2 days at price quoted. Very happy with Wendell’s , only people who touch my vehicle.

We had a great experience with Wendell's Garage. The windshield wipers on our truck had stopped working. We had to take it to the dealer for a recall so we asked them if the could look. The said we needed a new fuse box and a new motor for the wipers and it was going to cost $1,600! We told them no thank you. Called Wendell's which was Baureles, we took it in the next day and it was repaired the same day. He was honest and said the the fuse box was dirty, he cleaned it up and replaced the fuse and the wipers work! No where near what the dealer was going to charge us for things that didn't need replaced. I appreciate their honesty and integrity and will use them for any problems we have in the future.
