I went to this climb center establishment to ask and obtain information about the services offered and upon approaching the front door, I started talking to a man and young child about this place and before I could here there answer, they were suddenly pushed through the door and a man told me to go away. What? Was this mans problem, then when I tried to ask him a question , he basically shut the doors in my face. He was rude, extremely rude, I was considering, a membership, and a birthday climb party for my granddaughter, but I will never subject any children to such rude behavior in any pay established place. Later I learned it was the owner that I encountered with this rude behavior. Beware before you go!

First place I've ever been to climb. Friendly and helpful staff. Also the regulars are super nice and easy to talk to.

This place does not have a wheelchair accessible entrance that was mentioned in the about section here. They also don’t have a printer to print out release forms, so make sure you bring your own copy.

This place is an extremely unique climbing gym. Very welcoming, helpful, and chill staff. Felt like a great community in the gym as well. While the trivial things like parking and the bathrooms are not ideal (which is to be expected in such an old building that has been repurposed), the things that matter, like route setting, staff, etc., are great. Will definitely be going back.

We were a group of three in town for 10 days. We are somewhat experienced, not experts by any means and a little out of practice. We looked online and read that you have to get belay tested for $3. Fine. When we arrived we were told the next test isn't for 2 hours and we have to register online. We decided to boulder only. Pros: beautiful church building with stained glass windows. Rope anchors. Cons: front desk staff member was borderline rude, clearly impatient with a friend who needed to try multiple shoe sizes, made me not want to be there. Routes seemed to go from 0-60 between V0 and V1-2. Granted, I'm not a boulderer but others who are shared this take.

Visiting in town for some team building training and offered to take some coworkers to do my favorite sport. The idea of a church remodeled into a climbing gym sounds amazing and really unique so I def had to try it out. Absolutely not, wish I could get my money back for the single day pass I spent. Owner was rude, not very helpful or welcoming to guests. Had issues when I couldn't get my shoe size for rentals, evolves just don't size well to my feet. Rude to my friend who first walked into asking to do a belay class and we ended up opting to boulder. Everything we asked for was a bother to the owner. Scales are ass. The routes lack any flow or sense. The grading is way off and honestly just way too congested for bother boulder and top rope. Not to mention dangerous. The padding were not well put together as a few times my foot slipped between cracks. Not worth twisting an ankle over. Glad I didn't take my entire team here, honestly embarrassing.

I'm sure there were many funerals held in this church before it was a climbing gym and now it could be the resting place of your climbing career for the low one time cost of $20.I came across quite a few sketchy holds that would creak and move, but thought nothing of it - until one completely cranked 180 degrees in my hand and threw me off the bouldering wall. Mind you this is a V2 boulder with no dyno moves and I weigh ~165 lbs. As the hold gave way there was a pop in my shoulder and I have been unable to climb or lift for months and have pain during simple daily tasks. I inspected the hold and found that the spinner screws were never actually installed by the route setters even though there were holes for them. Absolutely unacceptable. The building is cool and I am glad that someone in the area between Columbus and Cincy is trying to serve the sport climbing community; however, a combination of careless route setters, a disappointing boulder selection, awful parking, and a weight room with posted-threats of removing any non-members from the premises - leaves A LOT to be desired from what could otherwise be an excellent place. If you only climb a few times a month, definitely just make the drive to a larger city.

Great adaptive reuse. Climbing in an old church is a unique experience. My friend and I both thought the boulder problems were accurately graded and creative. Minor issues includes lack of auto-belay, extremely old and outdated bathrooms, and having a members-only night seems unnecessary as if we were unlucky to have visited during that day, we wouldn't have been able to enjoy the place. Other than that, we very much enjoyed our time here.

We had a great time at this gym! I haven't climbed for over 7 years and we were able to schedule a belay certification and do our waivers online before hand to save time. I made a mistake and read the time wrong on our scheduled time, but the staff were super understanding and told us it was not a problem to come in later for it. We brought our 5 year old back for her first climb and she got stuck at the top and their climbers were so encouraging and helpful. Someone offered to belay me up there so I can help her down. Overall, we love that this is such an intimate gym!

They offer climbing instruction and guiding for people of all levels. Perfect for people who just want to try out the sport without having to buy all the gear. Every tour has been a great learning experience and a wonderful time. The staff are super patient and knowledgeable! We always have a great time when we go!You will have to rent shoes and harness (auto belay).

I almost didn't come because of the bad reviews, but I'm very glad I did, this is a simply fantastic facility and I found the staff and owner very helpful and accomodating.

Owner was extremely rude. Needs to work on his customer service skills. I amJust shocked that he would speak any customer like that.I was in town and stopped by to get a boulder pass. Did not realize Monday night was members only night. The owner rudely grumbled that “No one reads the website”.That is an accurate statement. It’s 2022 people google ‘climbing gym’ and look at the hours on google. People are not going to take the time to read a dissertation on an outdated website.Rules are rules, I get it. The place had maybe 4 people in it so I was shocked when he said there was no flexibility in those rules. Being unnecessarily rude while explaining to rules has prevented my interest in ever spending a dime at this gym.

Oof. This was one of the worst experiences I’ve had with a front desk worker. My friend and I came for a day pass and rentals. The worker was disrespectful, rude, and generally unhelpful. He was very confusing and did not offer any solutions (we are certified belayers at other gyms and this was our first time at Urban Krag). He was inpatient and seemed generally annoyed. My hope is that his day got better because it must have pretty bad when we walked in. We will likely not be returning to this gym because of this interaction.Aside from this interaction, the other workers were very helpful and kind. The gym itself is good, kind of small and the bouldering routes aren’t great. Fair pricing. The atmosphere is fun and encouraging.

Some of these reviews are confusing. I guess people like to complain about trivial things.Yes, Monday is a member's night only. Leaving a bad review because you didn't get an exception to a rule is very Karen. It's posted on their website. The owner doesn't have your typical "customer service" voice or demeanor, but that doesn't make him rude. That being said, I rarely ever even see him, and I've been going regularly for six months. The routes are changed frequently. Their difficulty scale, while not exactly standard, works a lot better than the typical numeric scale, which is highly arbitrary. They also have a weight room, and I frequently use the pull-up bar. They've crammed a lot of routes into a small building, and there are some unique touches they've added. Yeah the parking lot is terrible, but that's how it was when it was a church ⛪. I've had to park in the street a few times.Overall I've had a great experience. The routes are challenging, with many different styles, the staff are friendly, and the price is competitive.Update: We had a member route setting night, which was incredibly fun.

I've been doing indoor rock climbing for years now and I have climbed at multiple gyms before, but this was the worst one I have been to. The service was both good and bad. The owner treated my group and I like were a nuisance to him, but his employee was quite friendly and helpful. The gym itself isn't very good. They have some free weights which aren't bad, but the rock climbing walls aren't very good. It's very small and the paths and not well marked for the bouldering or belaying. The belaying is probably the worst part about the gym. It's very congested where the ropes are literally crisscrossing each other which makes it very unsafe. I would not recommend climbing here at all whether you are an experienced climber or new to climbing.
