“Conveniently located, generally clean, and staff have always been helpful and friendly on the rare occasions I have to go in. Carriers have also historically been great about delivery, be it regular mail or packages. However, they haven't been very reliable about picking up outgoing mail from my home. My neighborhood has all wall mailboxes on the house fronts, and they don't seem to bother to check them for outgoing if they don't have anything to deliver. This is frustrating at best for someone who, due to a combination of schedule and health issues, can't count on being able to leave the house to take something to the post office. Most recently, a piece of outgoing mail sat in the mailbox for 3 days until I was able to get out, because they had nothing to deliver and didn't even check if there was anything to pick up. Thankfully, it wasn't anything particularly time-sensitive, but what if it had been? In short, there is a lot from this location that is good, but they can definitely also do better.”

“The best post office! I drive 15 minutes just to use this one. The staff is friendly, knowledgeable and courteous. They have a little table to kids to sit and play while parents/caregivers are attending to mail services. There is not typically much of a wait.”

“I had originally called due to a package not being delivered in the appropriate spot that I requested on the delivery instructions of the informed delivery service they offer. The man from the post office that answered my complaint then decided to personally drive his own vehicle and deliver the package to my doorstep. Outstanding and excellent customer service. “This USPS at 1111 E. 5th is actually open Saturday 9AM-2PM and they went above and beyond for me last Saturday. The two ladies in customer service took care of my general delivery parcels, they helped me forward my mail online (because USPS requires ID verification at the post office and the clerk to scan the barcode in the email they send for security/ID protection), and when I used my ID they noticed a minor clerical error in the address on my new Ohio license that I had forgotten to check at the BMV. Very efficient, professional, knowledgeable and kind USPS staff! The other customers in line were nice too even though it was busy. Great job, E. 5th Dayton USPS.”
