Very expensive! They price what it would be if it’s brand new. Bought electronics told they were tested and they work. Took home and didn’t work.

PLEASE READ THIS!!! My sister and I used Options estate sale services in June. We had to sell my 97 year old father's belongings and condominium to pay for his assisted living. One of their customers left a note in my Dad's mailbox for me to call her. She said she witnessed Russ (options owner) taking a lockbox my father had lodged in his mattress many years ago. She said he took it to his truck. That lockbox had thousands of dollars in it. How could you do this to an old man!!!! It makes me sick SHAME on them!! Russ won't respond to ANYTHING!!!!!It's now been 5 months and no one has even attempted to reach me to rectify the situation.

These people were going on & on about their “next chapter” & how happy they were with this estate sale company who was so professional & honest! They said one day everything was there & within weeks, during May 2023, everything was gone & the house was ready to be sold! I asked them why don’t you write a review if you liked them so much & they said, “we don’t know how to” - you can do it…I was like, what!?? They said, yeah you do it for us - we will tell you how it went. HA-HA, they already had! LOL. Well, here goes, on their behalf….This is about OPTIONS ESTATE SALES in May 2023 from Centerville, OH.First meeting with OPTIONS went really well; together, they walked through the house, garage & outside, including the outside storage. They talked about the attic - but the homeowners (HO) said there wasn’t anything there. They said their closets were full, the cabinets were full, but nothing seemed to affect the OPTIONS people as unachievable. They talked about when to have the sale - it seemed like the HO didn’t think there would be a little wait to get a sale scheduled, so they do recommend to call OPTIONS sooner than later. There are only so many weekends in the year - especially good weather. And, they wanted to figure out when to sell the house, too. So, they all agreed on a schedule. After HO went through the house to get all their personal stuff out, they planned a trip & gave the keys to OPTIONS for them to take care of everything. That included selling the items in the home, except what would go with the house, & then allowing the HO to review things for donating what might be left or using other resources for cleanout & trash service to ensure an empty house. They offered cleaning at the end, but the HO said they would get someone for that. When OPTIONS was prepping the house, they found a shoe/boot box in the bottom in the back underneath clothes & other boxes of shoes, behind other stuff, but no boots in this box! It was full of other really important personal stuff & some extremely valuable stuff - the HO missed it. So, OPTIONS called the HO right away to let them know they found the box & immediately the HO knew what it was & told OPTIONS there were some old or gold coins & other items we won’t name, but they were out of town & couldn’t get it right away. OPTIONS secured it & ensured them when they returned, they could pick it up. When the HO returned, they were so thankful they got it back; NOTHING WAS MISSING & everything was in PERFECT ORDER - totally happy to get it back & to the point, the HO said they were so mad at themselves for having forgotten it in the first place. I guess it goes to show no matter how many decades you live in a house, you stash things & apparently sometimes forget where & what you have! Later OPTIONS found some significant cash in a drawer - again, the HO got it back! The HO was so impressed with the honesty & attentiveness of the OPTIONS people.During the actual sale, there was a big furniture thing, & some lower offers than anticipated (they talked up front about it), so as agreed, OPTIONS called the HO for their input, & the HO told them to do their best & it sold! The HO told me that OPTIONS told them that sometimes, things you think will sell fast don’t & things you think won’t sell, do…. That was accurate also - some artwork they loved thought would sell - well, nobody must have liked them-a taste thing, I suppose. They didn’t sell & the HO opted to let them be donated. At the end, there were the proceeds from the sale! The HO was so very pleasantly surprised. The HO said they really didn’t have any big surprises based on what OPTIONS told them in the beginning. The HO said OPTIONS was so PROFESSIONAL, HELPFUL, COMMUNICATED WELL, VERY HONEST, THOROUGH & GREAT TO WORK WITH & the biggest thing, the HOUSE WAS EMPTY at the end & they could start that "new chapter" without the burden of what they needed to do - so glad that portion was behind

I really enjoy going to Options Estates sales. There are a few companies that we consistently attend, Options is the first. I have heard several baseless comments at sales. Like the prices are really high, but I think they are super reasonable. Or this is a garage sale, which anyone who attends estate sales know the difference. I've read several of the comments from other reviewersand disagree with some of the claims.I've always been treated with respect and find them trustworthy.

We developed serious trust issues with the owners of Options after they conducted an unsuccessful estate sale for my father. We were left feeling frustrated and manipulated by an incident that occurred after the sale and then heartsick to realize that we had entrusted our 96-year old father’s worldly possessions to an unscrupulous business. If you do hire Options to conduct an estate sale, I strongly recommend that you NEVER allow Russ in your house unsupervised.UPDATE 8/18/23 - The owners of Options continue to respond to my and my sister’s Google reviews with promises of ”rectifying” the problems we experienced with them. They never reached out to us in any meaningful way, so we feel our only recourse is to share our experience here. The day after buyers picked up a bed they bought at our father’s estate sale, they told us that they had witnessed Russ remove a lockbox from under our father’s bed and take it out to his truck. The sale had been over for several days, and Russ DID NOT have permission to remove anything from the premises. Neither did he ever attempt to contact us to let us know that he had found the lockbox. When we confronted him, he adamantly denied ever seeing a lockbox or removing anything from our father’s house. Later that same day, he admitted to having the lockbox and we were able to pick it up from the Options store. Unfortunately, we have very good reason to believe that Russ removed a significant amount of money from our 96-year old father’s lockbox before returning it to us. He denies doing that as well, of course, and my sister and I are devastated.

I love to shop here when I need a special gift. There is always something unique to find. Today I went to a fun class to learn how to make a charcuterie board. It was so fun! Now I know how to make a rose out of salami. The girl who taught the class was so helpful and made the class fun and easy to learn. The staff is always friendly and have great ideas. Stop in and see what you can find!Tricia SpanglerCenterville

PLEASE BEWARE! My sister and I used Options estate sales in June. We trusted them to sell my 97 year father's belongings. He had to go into assisted living. I wish I could give the details. Do not use them. The elderly should not ever be taken advantage of. Shame on them!!!!

Options does a great job of running an estate sale. I've been attending many different sales now for over two years now and can honestly say that no one does it better. Great information and pictures before the sale, followed by fair day one pricing and friendly knowledgeable service sets them apart from the other companies. A special thanks to Leslie for lending a hand carrying my items to the car!

This is strictly a review from customer standpoint. I have never used Options to liquidate an estate, but I have shopped at several estate sales run by Options and this is a review of my experience. The person I interacted with was rude, petty, and condescending. I was going to purchase a small item for $3, and they were currently running a promotion for 30% off everything. I only had $2 in cash with me and when I asked if they would take $2 for the item, the person rolled her eyes, sighed and said yes she would take $2. She made a fuss about the difference of 40 cents. She made a petty comment about how she should make me use my credit card, and how people shouldn't ask for discounts. It's an estate sale, this isn't a retail shop, people can haggle if they want to. Get over yourself. I will avoid any estate sales run by this company in the future.

I have been to several estate sales operated by Options. They are normally nice. But today I went to one in Beavercreek and the lady in charge with black hair was very rude. I overheard her being extremely condescending to one customer. She did not seem to be want to be helpful. She was very impolite to me and when I asked for her help with a price she she seemed annoyed. So I actually did not purchase what I was going to because of her attitude.
