I have to amend my previous 1 star review. Mr Henderson called me back and was EXTREMELY helpful. Reasonably priced and available. Thank you!

I started with this vet group back in 1988 or so when it was Dr. Smith and Dr. Fergus. They were spectacular. We stayed with them thru many dogs even though we kept moving farther away. We would use North Main. Dr. Weisburger helped when an x-ray showed cancer breaking my Rottweilers leg and to let it go would be misery for him. When we moved to Xenia it became too far to drive. Since we took a rescue to Pony Express we started taking them all there. Our rescue has aggression issues and we needed x-rays. They were too concerned with his behavior. My husband took him to Clayton, Dr. Weisburger. She handled him and his next visit they were able to care for him without knocking him out. We then started taking our two little boys there. R.J. dx'd with a tumor blocking his trachea. Dr.Weisburger gave options. When dental caries was missed we took BoBo there. We did tests and meds to guarantee a successful surgery. Dr. W was not available so we took him to Dr. Crotty. The plan was to remove two and clean up others. Nine teeth were pulled. When he came home he looked like death. After a horrible night we rushed him back next morning. He died there even with CPR. So much pain and grief. I wanted an answer so i sent a message. I was called and told the Dr. would contact us on tuesday, next day she was in. No call ever came. I do not know a lawyer on the planet that would sue a vet so admitting a mistake would just help us, not hurt her. Our dog should not have died. We just want an answer.

I have taken my pet here a few times. Age has received vaccinations and was spayed. However, I've noticed the staff to become less and less professional. In the past, my family has patiently waited 45 minutes or more for our dog to be seen. The Staff woks come out, be both pleasant and informative. The last two visits have been less pleasant. Today I brought my dog for an yearly visit. I had confirmed through a reminder call earlier in the week I still needed to call upon our arrival. So once we arrived, I called. Well the message said if you've arrived for your appointment to come inside. I excited dog to go inside. It was an ordeal to get her focused as she is an extremely friendly dog. Once inside, I let the front desk know who we were. We were past our appointment time by then and the front desk let me know she'd check on our appointment. When the vet assistant came out, she did not greet us and was extremely aggressive in stating 'You are late and will not be seen because you are late.' Her tune was awful and took me by surprise. As she went on being rude, I stated we would leave. Her response? "Fine!" Based on her behavior and the lack of friendliness of the receptionist, my family has decided we do feel comfortable with our family pet being seen at that facility. I do not enjoy confrontation or aggressive people. We definitely don't recommend this practice due to the unpredictable atmosphere.

My husband and I have been coming to North Main Animal Clinic for over eight years with our doggie. In the beginning, everything was great. However, in the last two years (probably since COVID happened) we have had some issues. The people there are very nice but last year they forgot to give my dog her rabies shot even though it was specified that she would be getting it (at this time we were unable to be in the building due to COVID). Recently, we took our dog for her shots and a check up as every year around this time she begins to chew the hair on tail off and it gets inflamed/irritated. We were the last appointment of the night on a day last week and when my husband brought her back to the car we realized we did not have a script for the med for her tail. We called back and they told us we could come back and get the script. Come to find out they wrote her a paper script for Hydroxyzine which can be used for allergies but this is not the med she had the year before (which worked). I had to call back to explain this was not the medication she had before. When asked why they would give her a script for Hydroxyzine instead of what worked initially the response was "maybe because we were closed". The lady I spoke with was very nice and explained she was not there that night. However, if you are closed and unable to look into a chart for the right meds, I would prefer you ask us to come back the following day. I feel like we were given a random med as a shoo off because they were closed. This is bothersome for me as no one would want that to happen to their pet. I understand people are tired at the end of the day but that is no excuse for this.

I have been going here well over 10 to 15 years. 3 dogs 2 cats they have taken care of. That is until I had an emergency with my dog, called them when on my way. Only to be told to go to MedVet or care center as "they would be better equipped to help and we close in a couple of hours". Time waisted to get my guy help. This phone call was a Friday at 6:30. They close at 9 and just built....wait for it what they call a "state of the art" new facility. 4 hours later at a place he didn't know with a vet he didn't know. All because North Main was more concerned with closing and going home than doing their job of helping an animal that's been in their care since he was a pup. Taking my cat and we are leaving this practice. This used to never be this way.

The Veterinarians and vet techs are wonderful and take excellent care of the animals. The rest of the staff as in the receptionist and management are not professional. A change in policy for Covid was made to safely treat pets which is awesome. However they failed to layout the new guidelines for me and wrongfully charged extra fees for an honest mistake. When I asked why it is not being explained to clients management said they should be explaining it. They failed to do so and only wanted to argue and make excuses instead of fixing the issue or even apologizing for failing to notify me of the changes and possible charges.

I have been a customer of the clinic for about 12 years. I have trusted the care of all my animals to this practice explicitly. I currently have two dogs , a lab and a puppy that is a boxer that both receive their care with North main vet. Several days ago my 8month old boxer was stung in the face by a bee. His face began swelling immediately. The swelling was so severe you couldn't see his eyes any longer and he was drooling excessively. I called the office immediately to try to get him seen since all indications were that this was an emergency. The response I received from the office was that it was truly an emergency and he needed to be seen immediately but they were to busy to see him. I asked if I could go to the Clayton location Since I live no more than 5 minutes from either location, and they said no. My heart sank in disbelief. I could see my dog becoming more an more ill but my vet would not see him. Thank god my old vet in Troy was willing to take him! They probably saved his life. I requested to have a vet from north main contact me, but of course that has not happened. When the clinic use to be located in the older house on Main Street I always received exceptional care since the move to the new facility I have been very disappointed. People don't care about fancy buildings but they do care about how their pets are treated.

This office wasn't open. They don't have the hours posted. We wasted time driving here. Our dog ended up passing away. The hours of operation and the fact that this is not a hospital only an office would of been VERY HELPFUL.

After waiting over 3 hours at an animal hospital for my pet to be seen, North Main took him in within 16 minutes. The staff is very attentive, kind, respectful, and showed my dog as much love as I do. I can't say enough good things about North Main.
