I'm at Miami Valley Hospital I check in at the ER, a friend wasn't feeling well, I went to the vending machines to get some cookies. At that point they had called my friend back to admissions and when I went back the nurse air I needed a rgs number so I relayed it to the security guards and then I showed it to the nurse and she said go back he was supposed to tell me what to do so I went back to the security guard (2) and they were taking (both) the Caucasian couple and said to follow the nurse and she helped and took them to a room off the Er so I was like are you taking me too my friend room and the nurse was like no I don't know who your here for so I went back to the security guards and said you gave me this number, but you never explained to me what I was supposed to do with it like the other Nurse said you were supposed to and now I'm being frustrated and I'm getting angry because you dismissed me like I wasn't important, is because I was black and then he said no I explained it to you and he never explained nothing to me and then the other security guard was like no we're sorry. Don't worry about it. You go through there and make a right still not the same treatment that the white couple got! people.. tired of this crap!!

I'm not usually one to write reviews... But August 2023, I was in the hospital for over over a month due to very significant injuries. They made me lay in my pee, I would press the call button and no one would come for over 3 hours every single day. Luckily my boyfriend was there to carry me to the bathroom and change me and just help me walk again because they just didn't do the proper care. Then, flash forward to this year, 2024 just a week ago I was admitted for a cyst on my ovaries that burst which cause a ton of fluid to build up. They put in a drain tube and took it out either the same day or early morning after then sent me home with no antibiotics or nothing.. Then, once I'm home I developed a fever and my stomach was swollen along with being in extreme pain so I went back. Only this time now the fluid is back (which never left) and I now have an abscess on my liver. They put in a drain tube this morning then took it out this afternoon and sent me home with no antibiotics or anything once again without answers and doing nothing about the abscess that's still there since they never said they did anything about it.

Can't get nurses to come around EVER! My family member is in this hospital right now and is being provided DISGUSTINGLY inadequate care, it's straight up insulting. Filthy hospital, negligent care, and hospital staff gossiping about patients. Horrible!

I'm still experiencing unprofessional and disrespectful treatment from the Imaging department. I have been calling this week on behalf of my mother. She's not going to be treated at MVH, that’s a whole other story that demonstrates the disheartening treatment we experienced.
I was told this morning when I called, that I had until 4pm today to call Imaging back to let them know if someone would be coming in to pick up records or records would need to be sent over to Penn Medicine. I called a few minutes after 3pm, and the story changed. I was told records would not be sent over today, it would have to wait until Tuesday. At best, that would have the records arriving Wednesday - May 31st. I called 3 times this week, and let the assistant know that my mother's appointment was scheduled for Tuesday, May 30th at Penn Medicine. We are driving my mother 12 hours to there so that she can get treatment, this is after we were told that she wouldn't be treated at MVH, after spending a week and half there trying to get answers for her stroke like symptoms, along with with having to hunt her Neurologist down.
I reminded the assistant a few minutes ago, that she told me this morning that she would be there today until four. Why would she tell me records couldn't be sent this afternoon, knowing our situation and what we have already been through! She ended up exclaiming, "Ok, I'll send the records," and then HUNG UP on me! Wow.

My son was hit by a car, he was in the trauma unit, my wife asked for pillows for my son and for her, because she stayed the night and they said they didn't have any pillows SMH ?, the hospital room was very dirty and nasty, Dried blood on the bed, walls, floor, chair, the nurses on the night shift were cussing every other word, VERY unprofessional, then they were bragging about how many fights they were in, horrible hospital sent my son home after the accident with glass, rock and gravel still in his head, wouldn't even bath him in there, my wife rung the nurse button all during the night no response from the nurses had to go get them multiple times they never answered the call button once, I wouldn't take my dog there to get its nails clipped there, ? there was one male nurse that checked on him but that was it. ???? Never cleaned the room once in 3 days, they discharged him and the very next morning not even 8 hours later he's back in the ER admitted thank God to Kettering health a real hospital, don't trust your loved one to this place they will not care if they die or not!!!!!!! ?

My mother in law is currently in the hospital. Been there since Wednesday. The staff has been wonderful to her as well as family. The food looks really bad. I don't see people eating it. But was is really concerning is the cleanliness of the rooms as well as the elevators. Dirty gloves. Food, overflowing trash, and papers on windowsill. There is no way that room has been cleaned at all these 5 days. With germs and viruses going around I was shocked. Also, furniture is not confortable or suitable for visitors. I only gave it a 3 star bc her nursing staff and drs has really been awesome. You can do better. It's filthy in there. Good thing the outside is nice it gives a false illusion.

If I could give a zero I would! Went here for my father in law, and the ER is disgusting! Dried blood was on the waiting chair across from me and all over the floor. No one came and cleaned it after I told them about it. The trauma room he was in had dried blood on the wall/ curtain from I assume a previous patient. There is zero excuse for that being a hospital, I left feeling uneasy and not sure what I came into contact unaware of.

The entire staff on the 6th floor is a joke. From the cleaning crew all the way up to the doctors. Zero compassion or work ethics from the nursing staff. I would give a rating of negative 5 stars if i could. Step your game up miami valley hospital your patients and their loved ones deserve better!!

back in february my papaw had a simple surgery to remove a cyst on his kidney. it went well and he was okay for about a day after. then he was experiencing awful pain and was transported back to miami valley from our nearby er. a day later he wasn’t able to breathe very well because his body was under so much stress and in so much pain, and the doctors had no idea what was wrong. he could also barely talk and kept twitching. he got transferred to the icu. the next day they put him on a ventilator cause his lungs were under so much stress. they still didn’t know what was wrong with him, but they thought it could’ve been pancreatitis. the only way he could respond was by moving his eyes and squeezing our hands. we went to see him everyday that we could, but after the first week of him being there i had to go back to school and my parents had to go back to work. his kidneys started failing and he had to be put on dialysis. his abdomen was extremely inflamed. he was like that for about a week. there was a little progress and then he would go back down hill. after 3 weeks they finally found out what was wrong. parts of his pancreas and intestines were necrotic (they were dying). this can be seen on multiple scans. so how come they just now found it. nearly all of his colon and pancreas were dead, meaning this is what had been wrong the entire time. he had surgery to remove the necrotic tissue. but then his blood gas levels were rising and he passed on the 26th of february. i fully believe that these awful doctors and nurses killed my best friend. his room was always disgusting. the waiting room trash hadn’t been taken out the entire time we had been there. they would leave him in soiled sheets and gowns. they were absolutely awful in how they were caring for him. because of these doctors and nurses incompetence, my papaw was taken from me. please, do not bring your loved ones here and tell everyone you know to never let you go there for anything.

The staff have been kind but the cleanliness is startling. I have been visiting my dad here for 4 days and the public restroom on this floor has not been serviced once. It has been out of soap for over 24 hours. This is a hospital, people! This is how disease and infection spread. Abhorrent. The floors aren’t cleaned often either. I would highly recommend going elsewhere if you have that luxury.

Was charged $3,000 for care that I didn’t even get the full lab results for and the ER department was very rude, disrespectful, NOT PROFESSIONAL AT ALL, officer Duce got on the phone which wasn’t even supposed to be speaking to me about my results and I called back to the hospital spoke to the operator who was t willing to even give a first name of anybody because she said she will loss her job but I should know who I’m speaking to as they expect to verify my identity they should too. I rank this hospital professional conduct and care and overall experience a “0” I will be contacting BBB and medical boards regarding this hospital
