I've had 2 different deliveries over the years, the second being yesterday. Both of my experiences have been great. Good communication from the dispatchers, and from the drivers ahead of delivery. Awesome experience all the way around.

I'm now upgrading my review of Dayton from a zero to a two. My frustration with the initial encounters (customer service and management) still needs to be addressed. I was treated poorly; the customer was not right or valued, and excuses turned into lies...But my experience, Wednesday, two days after the initial experience, was night and day. I spoke with a different manager: Kind, courteous, small-town friendly, and helpful. The same goes for the driver who delivered my item on time--another positive experience with the same adjectives as above--kind, courteous, friendly. If ONLY these second encounters had been my first encounters...Dayton Freight would have had a much better review and an even higher rating.

they are horrible, wanted to schedule a delivery time to receive important item, great no problem, but could not say if they would be on time, expected me to wait all day,,,,why schedule the time them, i asked them to drop it no signature, before i could blink they sent the product back no refund on item from company plus addtional charges, what a scam. go somewhere else, or hire a mule

I see all these complaints about stuff not being delivered...obviously people just don't understand...I guarantee these same people have had multiple shipments not delivered by Amazon, UPS and definitely USPS..its the nature of the business...I promise that Dayton freight put more effort into delivering on time than any of those other companies...Best LTL company.

They keep putting packages in semi and then not delivering. But the worst part is they don’t say anything to anyone or care. Then they said they would put in box truck and have it delivered same day but they didn’t do that so that was a lie. Terrible service across the board. Has happened multiple times and now it’s Saturday and we let our customer down all because Dayton freight. Thanks Dayton frieght, hope we don’t lose customers and business because of you….

I called Dayton Freight, 6450 Poe Ave., Dayton Ohio 09/14/2021 to pick up a small used machine. My request for quote along with dim. were insured value, must be strapped to side of truck. Donna in customer service said no problem quoted the shipment. At time of delivery the machine was damaged we noticed it was not strapped down, it fell over completely damaging the moving parts and brain of the machine. Dayton Freight at that time said they don't insure used machine. . Dayton Freight charged $1275.00 to delivery then took the damaged machine with them and refused the insurance claim. ... Driver for Dayton Freight noted the machine fell over on paperwork. We are out $12,000.00 for the machine and $1,275.00 to ship it. Dayton Freight in no way showed any concern for the damage. This is one trucking Company I will never call on again
