I now understand the consistent bad review of this place. Worst customer service of all Avis car rental branch I ever had. I prepaid my reservation but I left my credit card at home in CA. She would not let me pick the car up even after I showed her my ID, other credit cards. Fortunately, my wife has it but I had to call her back after she droped me off. My wife was on the phone when she arrived. The Avis agent accused her of taking her picture and threatened to cancel our prepaid reservation. So bad!

Got set up so they could keep my 363 dollar deposit. We brought one car back that they claimed had dog hair and "worms". We have dogs- and we are moving and any dog hair came from our things. Got a lecture about how we could get charged a 450 dollar cleaning fee. I asked her if we were expected to return the car in pristine condition and she said no. The Avis website does specifically say that dogs ARE allowed as long as you clean up after them. Evidently, the employees set policy there. They give tips as to how to keep the car clean. The Avis website specifically uses the term "up to 450 dollars". Up to! We also took the car to a car wash and vacuumed the interior. So how we returned the car dirty I don't know. We paid by credit card, and, yes, I have the receipts.Well, of course my car broke down again. So off to Avis I go. I learned something here-if I ever get another lecture from someone I'm patronizing I'll hightail it away like quick. We took the car through a car wash and took ALL the trash out. We did not vacuum and it as it was surface debris and knew they would be vacuuming and it would be picked up by a routine cleaning. Imagine my dismay when I saw the bill! They tacked my whole deposit on my credit card. Of course I called them- they then told me that ANY cleaning time over 20 minutes would allow them to charge THE FULL 450 DOLLARS!Oh- when we rented the car I had used a credit card. She told me I still had to pay a deposit!!!! So I got stiffed for my credit card AND the deposit. More evidence of being purposely set up. They really hire people that conniving and cunning!!!! Really!!!If you enjoy being set up for a deposit, run to this location! I have NEVER been treated so poorly

My car broke down and I was in Dayton. Had the car towed to the dealership, and asked about a rental. They sent me down the street to Enterprise, which "though" they might be able to get me a pick up truck. Nope.Called my son and he said he had just the solution...and brought me here to his go to spot. At first they said I needed to book in advance, but when I explained my situation they quickly found me a car. It was a Hyundai Electra, and I gotta say, I loved it. So much I'm buying one. I always used to drive Hyundai's but for many reasons I decided to keep my husband's jeep after he passed. They were busy when I returned, and said I was a gallon low (even though I just filled up!) and charged me a $15 fee for that. Oh well, I had a car for more than a week and that was what I needed. And I like supporting local businesses.

Lol! I met Dawn today. Seemed like she was indifferent toward me. I seen allot of great customer service skills being showed to other customers though. Maybe it is just me she could not assist. I booked through kayak. Deposit was twice the rate of the car rental. I heard her talk about other ways to bill a car for other customers. When it came to me she gave me no options for this even after I requested them. In the end, she was ok with me walking away without what I intended on renting. 0 out of five stars. I appreciate her great customer service to the other patrons though. Let's somehow find a way to treat everyone with the same respect.

Dawn( lady at front desk) should be fired. We had reservations for a month paid 500 dollars a month in advance and the day came and they didn't have our car and claimed they have nothing else to give us. So what we cancel are vacation? But then the other man there said that they had a jeep to take, this made dawn mad since she had just told us they had nothing and she starts flipping out kicked us out of the store and THREATENED TO FIGHT US all because we asked for the corporate number

Made a reservation for a one way rental out of state 2-3 weeks ago.. Get a call 1 hour before pick-up only to be told there was no truck available. Luckily, I was able to rent from Penske last minute even though had to pay more. There was plenty of time to have the requested truck available and ready to go or arrange for a different location pick-up... Your store dropped the ball and another truck rental company got your business!

Budget Truck Rental would be a great business school case study on how NOT to run a business. Bottom line... take your business somewhere else.Let's start with the local franchise. I booked a reservation a month in advance. It was for a move, so I had no flexibility in the schedule. Knowing the franchise already had a bad reputation for over-booking, I called three days before to confirm that the reservation would be honored. All good. But TWO HOURS before I was to pick up the rental truck, I received the dreaded call. No truck available. They'd try to find a replacement vehicle, but don't count on it. Unfortunately, it was "out of their control".So I found my own replacement vehicle. Budget's website showed a bigger truck available in Columbus. Per their terms of service, they can substitute a bigger vehicle. Give me that truck, and we're good. I'll even drive over to Columbus to pick it up. Franchise owner... "I don't have the ability to do that. You need to call the national organization."So I called the national organization. I reached a call center in the Philippines. They'd forward my case to an Inventory Manager. Give them 15 minutes to 2 hours. But I know where to find a vehicle. Sorry... you don't call the inventory manager. The inventory manager calls you.2 hours later.... nothing. I call the Philippines again. We'll log another case, they say. Give us another two hours. I ask to talk to a manager, I get dumped to a non-functioning phone number. I wait two more hours. Nothing. I call back, ask to talk to a manager, I get dumped to a non-functioning phone number. I never did receive the honor of a phone call from the inventory manager. So let's break this down..-The local franchise just cares about vehicle utilization, even if it means over-booking. Don't listen to what they say. This is completely under their control.-The national organization appears to have no interest or ability to coordinate between franchises to take care of a customer.-The national organization views customer service as a cost center. Just send customers to the Philippines call center, take their name and number, file it in the trash can, and move on to the next.Bottom line... if you want cheap and are willing to take your chances, use Budget. If you want a company with a soul, take your business elsewhere.

whatever you do.. DO NOT BOOK with them! We booked months in a advance to move across the country and 5 days before we called to upgrade our truck size, the man on the phone was extremely rude, unprofessional and had a horrible negative attitude. He wouldn’t even look up my confirmation number, ask for my name ... nothing! He let us know they had NO truck for us and that there are 0 trucks in dayton until January. They didn’t plan to tell us this information until 24 hours before we left. do. not. book. with. them. Horrible, horrible people.

So. THE night before we have to pick the truck up, we get a call right before they close to tell us they over booked us. We booked it a MONTH AGO. Yet today at closing time they decided it was a good time to tell us our reservation was over booked. I truly appreciate the thinking ahead on your part. By far, fantastic!!!! I get people make mistakes, but come on.

Do not rent from these assholes. i used to rent from them on a regular basis several years ago. They picked me up and then told me they couldn't take a debit card. They refused to take me home forcing me to walk through bad parts of Dayton. I have never been treated so shabbily by any business. I called cooperate and morons offered me a $20 credit. F them. Don't rent from them! They don't even deserve 1 star

Simply was the worst experience ever, I reserve a truck online because they were the cheapest one available, the called me the day before to confirm my reservation, the next day when i went they told me they are overbooked and they have nothing for me, the only thing they can do is sending me to Trotwood and there's a truck should be available within 3 hours, i had no choice because i was moving and all my stuff was on the street, i went there and took my truck then they charged me double because i picked it up from different location. I called the customer service and after 30 minutes from waiting the supervisor said the best thing he can do is a 50$ discount on my total, and that is 20$ more than what i reserved, i took it because that was the best deal in that bad experience, wont rent from budget again ever

The owners/operators of this franchise are TERRIFIC. They treat customers well, remember them, and do everything they can to make sure they're taken care of. Keep in mind this review is not about BUDGET, the corporate entity itself. While I've had good experiences renting vehicles for travel and trucks for moving, I don't view the big company as much different from any other. But this location is operated/owned by local folks, and they've been nothing but a pleasure to work with. Highly recommend.
