Had a very good relationship with them until the end. First the good. I brought my Car in because of the Transmission. I had an aftermarket Car Warranty. Tom said he couldn’t do the tear apart diagnostic in less I gave him permission, just in case the Warranty Company didn’t pay. Well lo and behold. They tried to say it was a pre existing condition and wouldn’t pay but $60 on an $700+ tear down. Tom was gracious and allowed me to pay over time. This was in November of 2023. Being disabled and my Wife being disabled it took us until April to pay it off. Thank you for that Tom. After we paid that portion I told him to proceed with the rebuild he said it needed. We agreed that I would be making Payments towards the rebuild, he graciously agreed. Shortly thereafter I sued the Warranty Company for breach of Contract. They called two Days before the Court Daye; apologized and offered to settle which we did. Called Tom and told him I had settled with the Warranty Company and was able to pay him upon completion of the Work. Checked in with him Weekly to see progress. He told me he had other Cars a couple of times. I thought this was fair , since he had been patient with me. Finally , at the beginning of August that the the Transmission was fixed. Now for the bad part.
At that time he told me I needed brake Pads and Rotors. I informed him that couldn’t have possibly been the case , as having had experience working on Brakes for 30 Years on various makes and Models. On that particular Car , I had replaced the Brake lines all the way around to the abs Module and bled the lines completely. I told him that i wanted him to complete the work I’d contracted for and I would be in to pay him the balance of the total work $3100.
When I began driving the Car after getting it back, I noticed 1. When I drove the Car in reverse the Brakes would lock up . 2. It felt like the Transmission was still doing the same thing. Called them, had the Car towed back to them and told them what was going on. Made it clear that I didn’t want them to touch the Wheels or Brake System. Told three different Workers including Tom. Told them I had pads and Rotors that I was going to use the next time I needed them, which I knew I didn’t. Called the next Day to check on what they found, Tom told me he had other Cars reiterated my concerns and not to touch Brakes he very nastily said let him be the Expert. Didn’t argue, called the Home Office expressed my concerns and dissatisfaction, Thursday two weeks ago , no return calls. Although to be fair Ms. Lisa listened. Called Tom the next Day and he was Professional and said he would test Drive the Car.and let me know. The Following Day he called me and informed me that a Caliber Bolt was missing I asked him if he replaced it . He said they found a Bolt to put in. I was livid. In order to remove a Caliber Bolt you would have to heat it and beat it. I told him I would be sending a Tow Company to get my Car. Later he called and asked when they were coming, even though I had told them when to expect the tow. He than changed his Sory telling me that the Caliber Bolt was loose and pressing into the Brake Pad . That was story number two. I’d driven the 9 Months prior to the Transmission issue. I’m going to end this review now by saying they removed that Bolt.

I try to give reviews either good or bad to help people make good decisions when considering a large expense. Tom took in my truck and knew I was in a bad spot being out of town. They got my truck in and out within a week with a total transmission rebuild. The total cost was definitely expensive, but it’s the going market. Parts and labor aren’t as cheap as they used to be, and people need to really consider that. I notice after the repair that I do have an exhaust leak now. Not sure if they had to remove my exhaust manifold to drop the transmission, but I plan on bringing back to Tom when he is back from vacation. I trust that they will be honest with me and fix the issue if they caused it (I will update once this happens). I think the transmission could have some slight issues with it still, but I trust that they will make it right. I appreciate all the hard work and the respect for my time. Thanks Brownies!

Fo not EVER take your car here. They will lie and keep your car forever and not care. I was told a week and it's over a month and they aren't even fixing what I took it there for. Say they will call you and don't. Typical shiesty mechanics

I want to give a shout out to Brownies staff but specifically Tom he accessed my car and gave me his honest opinion about my car which was the cost was the amount of a another used car I explained to him that I was still paying on my car and would contact the dealer to see what could happen when contact the dealer they immediately went into the GPS and located the car which still contained my personal belongings and they did not contact me, Tom called me and shared they were coming to get my car I explained I needed the items inside, Tom told me to get there now, upon arrival Tom explained he told the dealership he would not release the keys until the person who dropped the car off came which stopped a potential bad situation and I was able to get my belongings from the car with no friction, understand he did not have to get involved but he protected the little man (me) we need people like this in this world I would trust my car to Brownies off integrity alone!!! Go To Brownies ask for Tom they get 5 stars from me!!! Thank You Tom!!

Overall, I believe this business does good work the reason I only gave four stars is because I do not like the poor communication that I have received at this establishment. Tom, the manager has had my car since 10-27-23. I paid Tom for the diagnostic fee which was 750 because I have some transmission issues. Instantly the technicians were able to link the issues back to the transmission and the way that it was installed. I came back in signing paperwork on October 30, 2023 and made another payment And after making that payment I came back on November 1 and November 15 of 2023 to make another payment . That is a total of $3000. My bill is 4100. My problem is not with the communication of the price. It is the communication of when the car will be done. I was told once I paid that the car would be done by 2 to 3 weeks. And each time that I call back, they’re telling me they’re working on it but I drive past that way every day to go to work and my car is still sitting . they did explain that they pull the transmissions out and then push them out. That is understandable. The other thing that I did not like that my vehicle was left on the lot completely unlocked for anyone to go into car parts were left in the trunk of the vehicle. I took pictures each time. I spoke with the manager Tom who told me my vehicle will be ready on 12/6/23 which the entire to December 15, 2023 and after that he told me that the vehicle will be ready for pick up on December 16, 2023, which is a Saturday knowing that they would be closed. So I drive up there looking stupid because they are closed. I do not like the way that I am being treated because I feel like I am getting the runaround. Other than that I would refer them. And I did not get on here to bash them. I got on here to leave a review.

I am extremely disappointed in the service I received here. I trusted them and the BBB I paid almost $3000 // $2895 to be exact and had to bring my car back twice after because it was still doing the same thing. After I spoke to the top guy there, he told his staff to replace the part. I continued to drive my car and had nothing but issues since replacing almost everything they supposedly fixed. To top it off I have voiced my frustrations every time got was excuses, so I had to bring men in the office and have them call on my behalf and they told me these guys was full of it. After being lied to, treated poorly and pushed off I did not even receive a professional I am sorry or discount on my work that was done or if in the future if something goes wrong bring it back. I called today and got brushed off as well as to what was all done to my vehicle and was told that I can bring it in leave it for a couple of days and they'll find paperwork to see what's wrong with it I would not recommend this place to anyone I would find a mechanic off the streets and probably receive better service and my car would probably run longer.Service: Transmission

I was told to go there by a local repair shop. I asked the man if he could come outside to look at car so I could show him where the fluid was spraying out of . He said they dont do that...I explained were from our of town .I just wanted to show them what's going on... So he said he would send someone out...We waited 30 mins . My son finally said to go to the other transmission shop down the road and they waited on us within 5 mins... No customer skills

I am very irritated my car probably been here for a few weeks , I was calling every other day to see have he got to my car so Tom will always say he will give me an call by the end of the day or week so last week Aug 11,2023 I had my dad go and he said a note about my car was on the board so I could have been picked it up so then they says I’m having electrical issues so I get my car towed and took to a Chevy dealership it is not aug 17, 2023 and I have to pay $500 for a diagnosis just for them to tell me it wasn’t electrical it is my transmission !!!!!! I’m so frustrated about this communication was not done right at brownies I am very disappointed .

This shop just earned a life long customer. I thought I was having transmission problems on my truck and walked in ready to pay $3k+ to get it fixed. They diagnosed the issue back to a misfire from one of the spark plug boots coming off. They pushed the boot on and totally fixed the sudder I was feeling in the free diagnosis of my truck. Turns out there was no issue with my transmission at all. They could have easily rebuilt my transmission and charged me thousands of dollars but they were honest and looking out for me - the customer instead of trying to take advantage of me.
