Rude and not helpful staff in the fitting room area

This review is for the company and their customer service. I mainly shop online and Zara’s customer service is horrible in general. Their website is not working properly, impossible to make an exchange, only return is an option, which means I have to pay the return shipping fee and the shipping for the other item. Calling customer service is useless, they cannot do anything or assist you over the phone.

My son recently received his first paycheck from his new job and was excited to treat himself to something nice. He chose Zara—a store he really likes—for his very first purchase. We decided to make a day of it and went shopping together on Sunday.
When we arrived, we noticed the men’s section was on the second floor, so we took the escalator up. My son browsed through jackets, tried one on, and looked at a few other items. He eventually picked out a jacket and a polo shirt to buy. Since the down escalator was broken, we took the elevator to the first floor and got in line to pay. He proudly paid for his items with his own hard-earned money.
As we exited the store, I began recording a short video to capture this milestone moment—his first purchase with his own paycheck. That’s when a security guard approached us from behind, showed us a photo on his device, and asked if we had purchased a particular item. We told him no, and he then asked to look in my son’s bag. I firmly told him that everything in the bag had been paid for. His response? “I’m just doing my job.”
Let’s be honest—this wasn’t about doing a job. This was profiling. We were clearly being watched, and the decision to stop us as a Black family walking out of the store was not lost on me. It was humiliating and unnecessary, especially for a young Black teen who was simply proud to make his first purchase.
If it had been my money, I would have turned around and returned everything on the spot. But this was his moment, and I didn’t want to take that from him. Still, it’s incredibly unfortunate that his first shopping experience was marred by suspicion and bias.
Zara may have stylish items, but the quality doesn’t match the price—and certainly not the disrespect. I will never step foot in that store again. Retailers like Zara need to do better. With the way the retail market is trending, I wouldn’t be surprised if they’re online-only in 10 years. And if this is how they treat customers, good riddance.

After returning home from my shopping trip at Zara - Easton I realized I no longer had my designer belt. The store has no direct phone so I could not call to see if someone returned it and it would take 24-48 hours for customer support to email the store. I drove back to the store where I told the fitting room staff what happened. She told me I can “look for it” and people “steal sunglasses and other things that people leave often.” If this is an issue why aren’t you being more diligent or have a friendly sign reminding people to double check all of their belongings, bringing it up to management? It was my favorite belt and I was met with no sympathy from the staff whatsoever. One of the staff members requested to take my phone to the back with him to look for the belt and then proceeded to act dumbfounded pulling out belts from Zara with tags. Trying on an outfit here cost me my favorite belt and staff was dismissive and rude.

Went to pick out two items and went to check out AND they charged me but only right after to tell me the prices were incorrect. Why are you displaying the clothing for wrong prices in the first place!!?? I did not buy them and will never support Zara for the fact of the principle of the matter is you are supposed to lower the price for what the customer know the price is at the time. That is why you have tags. You cannot be like oh sorry it’s actually the wrong price on display. Do better management. You are missing out on business and great customers. Plus the manager at the time Wednesday 9/17 at around 1.30 is rude as hell and should lose her job for not supporting customer service the way it should be. I only say that because I have a bachelors in business and 15 years of customer service and know hoew customers should be treated !

Went with my daughter Saturday evening 08/02/25 to purchase a few tops. We picked a few and we went to the fitting room for her to try them on. As we went into the fitting room there were two employees deep in chat and they did not acknowledged us or other customers walking in and out. So we went straight to a room, my daughter tried them on and chose a couple and left a couple in the room as normal in all stores. As we walked out one of the obviously lazy employees, with an attitude asked me to bring out what we were not purchasing and hang them on the rack. I was taken aback but did not want to cause a show so i went back grabbed the two tops, while a lot of clothes, others had left were on the floor. I hung them on the rack and told them that it seems they forgot to tell everyone to do their job and bring out the clothes they were not purchasing. I don’t think they heard me as they were busy still chatting away. Mind you the entire store was trashed with clothes ok the floors and the fitting rooms were a mess as well. I would not mind if it was posted in the fitting rooms that we had to bring out what was not being purchased. The male cashier was however very friendly. Zara do better please!

This was my first and last time here. I was surprised at just how messy the place was. And there seemed to be no effort by staff to pick up anything. None of the staff interacted with customers outside of checkout. I definitely saw employees around but they weren’t doing much. I did hear one of the employees shout at customers coming in as I left that they would be closing in 5 minutes. There is an upstairs area that I didn’t even bother to go to. Not sure what’s going on with management. All of the clearance is at the front of the store so that’s nice. I assume people come here specifically for the discounts because I can’t think of another reason. But even I wouldn’t want to go through clothes on the floor for a discount. Do better Zara.

Staff is very rude. We were shopping with young children and using the fitting room. When we tried to check out we ended up standing around for an extended period of time with staff walking around us, none of which tried to assist us in checking out. Again, this is with young impatient children present and trying to hold a large bundle of clothes. Before we could check out a member of staff approached us and asked us to put the clothes that we had left in the fitting room away before we could check out. I have never been asked to put clothes back in their original spots before. After we did so we still had to go to a different register to check out because the staff upstairs were still ignoring us. I rarely leave negative reviews but this experience was by far the worst retail experience I have had. We will not return.

An absolute abomination of customer service. Unfriendly and not helpful. Asked the girl in the dressing room to please locate a different size and she directed me where I could go find it. I had to get re-dressed and go get it. Then she asked me to put the clothes I tried on back. Followed by the rudest cashier. Never again. Zara management you can do BETTER.
