December 2024, I went to Zales Easton to upgrade my wife of 30 years with a new wedding ring. After a while of looking for the ring, I found the perfect one to purchase around $5k. I was initially going to purchase the ring with one of my personal credit cards; however, the salesman said that I could take advantage of a promotion where I would be able to purchase the ring 18 months interest free. I purchased the ring and on my first bill there was a promotional plan fee of $89.00 (I was not aware of this fee being an add-on). I spoke to customer service, and they gave me a hard time; however, after a lengthy discussion, they decided to waive the fee. The next bill showed the credit; however, three months later, the bill showed the charge reissued on my account. I reached out to customer service once again, acquiring about the charge, and was told that I would need to submit a dispute, and it would take 30 to 60 days before someone reached out to me. This conversation occurred around March 2025. Time went by, and during this time, I checked my bill for the credit and I did not receive one. On June 10, 2025, I reached out to customer service and spoke to someone who could not understand the charge and told me that the only thing I could do was file another dispute and wait an additional 30 to 60 days for a response. I requested to speak to a supervisor. The supervisor informed me that the charge was removed in error and that I would need to pay the fee because the promotional plan required it. She also stated that the only way to get the fee waived is if I went back to the store and renegotiated the terms of my payment arrangements. I believe this entire situation was a deceptive practice by Zales. They could have been forthcoming with the fee arrangement and could have informed me earlier regarding the resolution of my dispute. I will no longer do business with a Zales. If you opt to make a purchase, be sure you know what you are getting into. Read the fine print and ask questions.
Also, I did not receive an inspection record upon purchase. I will have to go back and request one. Fingers crossed, everything works out.

Visited Zales today with my fiancé and met Ms. Theresa. She was very helpful and because my engagement was purchased elsewhere, she was able to find a band that would match with my ring perfectly, so she also has a good eye. She was patient and helped us find what we were seeking. We will be back.
