Really incredible store with a great staff, but this is NOT a USED book store. They sell new books, often at a good discount. It's also a great place to get lost in.

If you are a book lover, this is heaven! This is an old house in the German Village turned into a huge bookstore! They use every room, hallway, closet, and even under the staircases to cover the walls with bookshelves. I had to be quick on this trip, so the signs labeling genres in rooms were very helpful! I was able to find a book I've been looking for and even a newer book I hadn't heard of for a great price. Many books are labeled 5% off the price or specially priced at $5.99-$10. There are large areas of children books, young adult books, and every genre you can think of. When you arrive, you walk through the side gate, through a narrow garden area. There are benches to enjoy on a beautiful day. It's not a extremely close to the German style restaurants, but a definite place to visit in the area

I felt like Alice in my own wonderland, climbing endless stairs and squeezing through tiny nooks of wonder. Such a great experience! Being from Florida, I especially loved the banned book section and the quirky finds throughout.

This is a quaint, cozy, but also deceptively large independent bookstore - a multi-story fever dream of cubbies, nooks, stairs, puzzles, games, trinkets, souvenirs, and obviously shelves upon shelves of thankfully well-labeled books. It is so easy to get lost in there, they have a printed map you can take with you! They also (and I cannot stress enough how unreasonably gleeful it made me when I found these) have a selection of working cuckoo clocks!!!! ?I don't recommend this place for people with mobility issues, as there are far too many steps to make it wheelchair-accessible and a steep, uneven brick path up to the door. However, for everybody who doesn't mind steps, stairs, tiny cubbies and narrow passages, this is a bibliophile's dream! There are also benches outside along the enclosed brick pathway for you to recover your equilibrium from being lost in the book maze, before you emerge back into the real world. ?Well worth the trip! ??

Very large bookstore with thousands upon thousands of choices. Book prices are actually very decent. The rooms can get pretty small so when it’s crowded if you’re not into large crowds and small spaces, I’d avoid. The first time we went I had to leave because of how many people were in there. There was a large line up to even get it.The second time there was hardly anyone inside so it was much more enjoyable

Fantastic! Overwhelming (in the best way) with more than 30 rooms of books. Not to mention the additional fabulous gifts, including socks, tote bags, stickers, bookmarks, t-shirts, games, stationary, postcards, clocks and more! The staff are incredibly friendly and can provide a store map (you’ll need it!). Definitely check it out if you’re in town and nearby. You’ll want to return for several more hours to explore (I know I do!) ?

This was one of the places I knew I had to visit in Columbus. I could have spent hours here, searching every nook and cranny, but my husband's book store attention span is about an hour, tops.If you are a true fan of bookstores, you could spend a whole afternoon here and still not see it all.I absolutely loved my experience here and would recommend stopping by if you are in the city.

This is a wonderful set-in bookstore with many choices, there is truly something for everybody! I love to color and there are coloring books that any artist would cherish and value, all with discounts and low prices! If you have wanted to go… get there! You won’t regret it.

A great place to spend some time. We stayed a couple of hours and we didn't even realize it ! The only downside is that the new books or any books that are marked 5% are actually cheaper by a dollar or 2 on Amazon. So the books with the sticker are actually cheaper elsewhere. The other books are a real bargain and really great priced. We went on a Sunday and it was crowded. The bookshop is like a maze and we loved spending time there. It's a great place and must visit if you are in the area. The coffee shop right next door makes it a great addition.

Go here. This place is amazing. Photos will not show how absolutely jam-packed this place is with shelves of books that form a delightful maze of narrow halls and surprise staircases. They have 32 rooms crammed into a long house in the German village with each room, roughly, containing a genre of book. Some rooms are bigger than others, like the kids section, or the fantasy and scify area. Go early if it's a weekend because they will start metering entry when it gets too busy. There are books spilling out onto the ally, though, so there are still tables to look through outside. Just a minor warning: you will get cozy with everyone in the store as you squeeze past each other. Still, go here. It's an absolute banger of a bookstore.

There don't seem to be many bookstores left, let alone independents. But the Book Loft is still here! And still amazing. 32 rooms in a rambling, twisty-turny layout. I love to just roam the rooms looking for the unusual or catchy book. Prices are about average, though, as with many things, probably a little cheaper on Amazon. But I think it's worth it to support a longstanding local business. The experience cannot be found online. I usually find something I wasn't looking for .

So much fun!Room after room of books...my heart was happy! The outside of the store was just as lovely with lots of benches to sit and relax...or wait for the spouses who are shopping...And everything was a bargain. I had to refrain from going nuts...Worth a stop as you stroll through the German Village!

What a find. If you love books even just a little...plan to spend an hour or more perusing the shelves. They literally have EVERYTHING. Every genre. Every age group. Every Every Thing. Books. Games. Posters. Classics. Currents. Collections. You name it they will have it. So, come visit this gem. It is WELL worth it. Only downside is two things... 1. You can get lost in the store...grab a map. 2. Parking is street parking and can be a challenge to find. But we'll worth taking the time. This stop will not disappoint.

A wild adventure through its winding stacks, aisles and stairs. Lots of books repeated throughout the place, but great prices and staff. I love that they are open late.

My favorite bookstore I’ve ever been to! I always try to visit the Book Loft when I’m in Columbus. Love the exterior & interior funkiness with all the different rooms, the landscaping-very cool. Great prices & able to purchase some unique finds.
