Love this store & the guys who work there. Was able to build a fantastic stereo system that has seriously brought so much joy! These guys have been wonderful whenever we’ve had questions or needed advice. We’re so lucky to have them here in Columbus.

These guys want to get people gear that will provide a great listening experience, and they spent time with me to make sure that would happen. Their customer service far exceeded my expectations, and I am looking forward to shopping here again soon. I wish I would have visited sooner!

Had a fantastic experience! I came in to the shop to figure out what I needed for a dedicated sound system for my turntable, and was taken through several new and used options based on sound, price point, and design. The whole process was very low pressure and educational as a lay person who knows very little about stereo systems. Ended up finding the perfect fit for my needs, and was given new speaker wires and adapters at no cost! Setup at home was super easy, and I’m loving the new sound in my home! Thanks so much!!

In this day when "stereo equipment" is a plastic box purchased at a Big Box store where the associates are likely to point you toward sweaters if you ask about a tweeter, this location is MUCH NEEDED and is as current as it is a beautiful anachronism. A true stero shop somehow transported 50 years forward from 1974 into 2024For those of us who grew up with record players and actual records, walking into that store feels a bit like stepping back to 1974 with its displays of phonograph needles, speakers (with actual wood from trees!) that are big enough to support an aquarium and names like "Pioneer" and "Techniques" on 120 watts/channel receivers/amps sporting shiney brushed aluminum cases instead of the requisite black plasticBesides vintage equipment in like-new operating conditions, there's the 21st century stuff too that delivers audio so pure, so clean, so crisp it can bring tears to ones eyes in part for the realization that so much as been lost to a consumerism that allows shabbiness to become the new standard. The guy there is friendly, chatty, and obviously knows his stuff.Go there...wait to hear a favorite come across the Serius XM playing, a song you have heard a thousand times and you will swear it's as if you've never heard it

It was made very clear they are not interested in giving help or advice. They only exist to sell repair services or equipment. If it's transactional, they probably do good work. Anything outside of that, they're not interested in talking to you so don't bother.

Fantastic customer service. They reconditioned my Pioneer SX-850 for a fraction of what it would cost to replace with a new receiver of equal quality. Good people to work with, extremely knowledgeable.

Just got my technics speakers back today, and they sound amazing. Took a little longer than expected but they took care of me and the result is worth the wait. I would refer anyone here.

So I walked into here to find a replacement cartridge for my turntable. I showed them what table I have and he recommended the AT81CP, so I bought it right then. I will say they were very friendly, but the price was outrageous. Upon getting home, a quick google search shows that you can purchase these all day long for right about $30. My total from Stereo Lab was $70! Literally over twice the price from anywhere online. I couldn’t find anyplace online charging this much for this cartridge. $29 from Target. I generally like to shop and support local, but not when I’m taken advantage of like this.

I went in to inquire about a replacement turntable for a vintage console stereo. I had hoped to buy a replacement that would fit the cabinet I have which is a little more narrow than most turntables. I asked the fellow at the counter if there was anything that I could do, he just kind of shook his head, seemed disinterested. He noted that nothing would fit except perhaps the original turntable. I presumed him to be right and left disappointed.Later I asked on Reddit if there were any reasonably good turntables that might fit and within 5 minutes, someone recommended a Dual 1019. Turns up, it would look the part, sounds good and are pretty easy to find. It seems like if you worked in a vintage audio store, you'd know this sort of thing. My only guess is that the fellow at the counter didn't have one to sell and didn't want be bothered to find one. I mean, had he just said that he could get one for me, I would have happily purchased one. He could have spent 15 min on eBay to find a working example, have it cleaned up a little and they would have made an easy sale.I find myself underwhelmed with the interaction.

Had him check a couple of needles I thought were worn. He said they were pristine still. Hardly showing wear. Very cordial and we talked a bit on antique stuff. I remember their radio ad from the 60s or 70s : Taking the time to do it right - Stereo Lab. ! Their place is nicely remodeled now too.
