Second stay at this hotel. Overall great stays! Nothing overly fancy but rooms are clean and comfortable, friendly staff. Plenty of restaurants within walking distance as well.

Stayed here before and always look forward to returning! Great staff and very friendly and helpful! I had an issue with my toilet and called the front desk and they told be engineering would be right up. A couple minutes later, Cameron from engineering knocked on my door and immediately took care of the problem. He was kind, apologetic and very professional! Please recognize Cameron for the outstanding guest service he provided!
Rooms: Clean and inviting!
Safety: Always a staff member near the doors in the lobby which made me feel safe.

When covid struck and the whole state was under emergency, they wouldn't let me cancel my stay which was crappy. 400 lost. All they had to do was give me credit for another time but no go. I'll never stay there and always remember that.

For a 4-star hotel, I was disappointed. The valet was great and the restaurant staff were friendly.
Took a bit of time to get my tax-free honored at the front desk. This process needs to be smoothed out across all Marriott hotels since each I stayed at this week asked me to provide a form in addition to my card. The first hotel didn’t give me as much of an issue but the renaissance went back and forth with me saying only businesses could use tax free despite me being personally exempt. This wasn’t the biggest issue though because it eventually was honored.
The beds were very uncomfortable for a 4-star hotel. My friend and I were driving across the country so we’re looking for nice, reputable hotels along the way and only stayed in Marriott brand hotels.
In the middle of the night, a hotel employee got our room mixed up with another guest’s for a service request. We had a long drive the next day and this interruption affected our drive. Not only that, a knock on the door in the middle of the night in a foreign city was also frightening. As two girls, we were a bit uneasy about it.
Overall, for the price I wouldn’t stay again. I’m surprised it’s a 4-star hotel.

Stayed here last week for the weekend. First of all, the room was not clean at all when we checked in. The bed looked like it was just made but the sheets weren’t clean and the walls were dirty. I asked the front desk for my sheets to be changed because my dog jumped up on them with his dirty paws. She said she will send housekeeping up right away. We came back that night and the sheets weren’t changed I still saw my dogs paw prints on them.
We went to the latitude restaurant one night. My wife and I were standing at the hostess stand while the hostess was talking to another worker about their weekend plans. We stood there for a good 5 minutes until she finally asked if we would like to be seated. Once we got seated, no one came to us. But we saw the hostess serving other tables, we didn’t even get water. We eventually left and went walking around downtown for food.
When I went to check out I told the front desk lady my issues and she said she would try to make up the inconvenience with some Marriott points. I gave her my account number and she said she’s sorry for my less than enjoyable stay and the points would be added to my account in a few days. It’s been over a week now and they aren’t here.
This is by far the worst renaissance I’ve ever been to. I wanted to take my wife somewhere nicer because it was her birthday and that’s why I chose it for the price and the location. I should have chosen the residence inn right across the street! There was a very sweet blonde lady at the front desk who always greeted me and my dog which I liked.
Rooms: Awful! Outdated, not appealing, and the walls were dirty.
Safety: We felt safe in and around the hotel.
Walkability: Great location right across from the capital and in the middle of downtown.

Reliably good hotel. Mixed experiences with staff. Most were pre-COVID great, while a couple were strictly marking time. The good outweighs the bad, so I wouldn't hesitate to come back.

The overall hotels appearance was very nice but our room was less than satisfying. I feel for the name of the hotel the quality of the room should have been much better. Breakfast was only allowed to four of my associates out of the seven I had travel with on business. When traveling to the area again this will not be a hotel I will be returning to.

Great location, but room are very humid and they force you to open an Marriot Bonvoy account in order to use their wifi ?

We only stayed there for one night, but the front desk clerk named Kasha made us feel so welcome. She was so warm and pleasant and definitely made our experience better. She definitely needs a raise

I had my wedding and bunch of my family member coming to columbus two weeks ago, there were misunderstanding between me and my family member about what kind room they want but the front desk Melonie was absolutely so nice, patient, and thoughtful from the beginning to end. I’ve traveled many places and stayed countless hotels but never met a front desk person like Melonie. How she helped us makes me and my wife so moved every time when we think about hotel and her. Best wishes to her and the Renaissance.

There’s a very loud construction noise going on all night (it is 2 am) across the street. I called the front desk twice and they say there’s nothing they can do about it. Well there’s contacting police for breaking noise laws in the city?! The front desk said they are not comfortable calling the police. As a hotel you should do your best for the comfort and safety of your guests including contacting law enforcement if the law is broken and it impacts your guests comfort or safety. Even my room is good, I can’t rate it more than 1 star if I can’t sleep and it’s past 2am due to construction noise.

DO NOT STAY AT THIS HOTEL.
You will be charged $45 for valet parking, NIGHTLY, no exceptions and then expected to tip $7 every time you depart the hotel. Beware the hotel has two fees they will stick you with if you try and back out of your reservation. First, you must give 48 advance notice of cancellation or will be charged cancellation fees. Also, there is an early departure fee (one night's stay) if you attempt to alter your reservation with an early end date, even if you gave 48 hour notice.
Beyond the excessive fees, the hotel is worn down and depressed. Carpets in room have many stains and beds are not comfortable.
Do yourself a favor and stay at a hotel that does not try to take advantage of you.
