Phoenix Books is one of my favorite bookstores. It's top for esoteric information, although they don't carry my books at this time.

I firmly believe in supporting local businesses, especially non-corporate book stores. I've bought books, and such, from here over the last two decades. Great place, especially if you looking for something out of print. If it's not there, they can get it.Last Saturday, I went to look for a specific item. I got the just after 2pm. There was a note on the door saying that they went to the post office and would be back @315p. Ok. I had other errands. Came back at 4p, and still not back. Ok. I'll wait until next week. I work M-F 8a-6p 9a-1p on Saturday, and the store is closed Sundays.So, I go back just after 2p this Saturday and guess what? There's a note on the door informing they're out for lunch and will be back @3p.Came back at 310-15, no one is there.It's really a great little shop. But don't waste your time trying to go on a Saturday.Until my job changes, I won't be taking any more chances of wasting my precious little time off trying to shop there.

Lots of selections here but maybe not all the types of books I'd particularly be interested in. They have yoga, health, spiritual, zen, Buddhist, indigenous peoples, tarot, Chi, books.

Great owner and book shop of all things metaphysical. Of course, I am a bit of a wonk and a fan of old funky bookstores but this one has a real breadth of content in an area that will sometimes only get a few bookshelves in other used book stores. A must stop for book lovers, spirituality lovers, and people who still believe in open ideas and the value of literacy!
