I love stopping by a thrift store any time I'm visiting a new city. Out of the Closet is a pretty big one in downtown Columbus. They have a selection of men's, women's clothing, furniture, shoes, CDs, artwork and books. This thrift store is extraordinary in what they do! 96% of each dollar goes towards aiding in HIV care and supporting those suffering with it. They offer free on site HIV testing. There were around 10 young men waiting to get tested. I really liked some of the furniture pieces and artwork in this store, unfortunately it was too big to bring back on my flight home with me. My friend purchased around 12 CDs at $2 each. I would love some of them too, but I haven't had anything to play CDs on in so long. Out of the Closet is a thrift store that supports a wonderful cause. Stop by when you're in the area!

Nice second-hand establishment for a cause. Free HIV testing. Good vintage furniture finds. Large floor. Lots of clothes for a fair price. Not the best selection though. Free condoms at check out.

I visited Out of the Closet Thrift Store, at 1230 N. High St. in the "Short North" neighborhood of Columbus, for my first time on 9-20-2023.I have walked by that store many times while on my way to and from events at Stonewall Columbus, one block to the south, but I had never actually visited there until recently. It had been fun to walk around Out of the Closet Thrift Store for thirty minutes or so and to see the many interesting items that they have for sale. Certainly, the items that they have for sale at that store will change every few days. The woman behind the counter told me that 96% of their sales go directly to the AIDS Healthcare Foundation’s HIV/AIDS treatment and care programs worldwide. Also available at the Columbus location of Out of the Closet Thrift Store are free HIV testing and a pharmacy. If you are looking for some "one-of-a-kind" items and you also want to support a worthy cause, I recommend Out of the Closet Thrift Store.

A great thrift store! The store is very clean and has excellent quality items ranging from shoes to clothing to household items. There are dressing rooms for trying things on and the staff is very kind.

LGBT friendly. Been several times and haven't found good selection of men's clothing. Pharmacy and HIV testing on site.

This place was really recommended, but I was shocked to find that it was worse than goodwill (and I like most goodwills). The clothing was very overpriced and worn.

Unfortunately, after three years of going here, the prices are simply too outrageous. Asking $8 for a t shirt and $30+ for coats, video games, and other common thrift items is completely unaffordable and just screams only in it to make money rather than actually provide affordable items. It’s a thrift store, not a boutique, not a marketplace, and surely not a retail store, so it is very sad to see that this is no longer a thrift store. Stick with goodwill and salvation army if you want to actually find affordable clothing. Pricing items based off of their maximum selling price at a “thrift” store is hypocritical and completely contradicts the purpose of a thrift store. If this store wants to continue to operate, especially in a student environment, the prices need to be lowered. -a past weekly-customer

Good selection. Mostly clothing and accessories, some furniture and home decor. Clean and well-organized.

One of the smallest thrift stores I’ve been to. Not much selection to pick from - kind of disappointing! Also, nothing was organized by size and it made it very difficult to shop. I found some really nice pieces but ended up disappointed because they weren’t my size.

Not enough parking. I got off the interstate to check this place out, and had to keep driving right back to the highway since the parking lot was beyond full. There were also cars parked incorrectly and blocking others in, since the lot is way too small.
