11/8/23 ETA: Eric came to replace the pilot light and electronics. Seems to be working great so far.I had a superior gas fireplace installed in my new build 4 years ago. I called multiple times within the first couple years or so and had several service calls because our fireplace was starting but would constantly shut off and had trouble keeping the pilot light on. It was discovered that the fireplace installed was for propane but connected to natural gas. Bob was so nice about it and promptly ordered parts to convert it to a natural gas set up as it should have originally been. We have continued to have issues since with the fireplace not staying lit, the pilot light going out, and just trouble getting it to start with multiple attempts. Occasionally it will stay on for longer periods (even hours) before it shuts off. But a lot of the time it will take multiple times to start or shut off after 15 seconds or 2 minutes. It is definitely random at times. I really wasn’t able to use it much at all last winter because of the issues, but did not feel like dealing with it again until this year because I’ve been getting frustrated with the service calls not leading to any solution or improvement. It has been doing this the entire time we have had it, but they are reluctant to cover the costs to fix it since it’s been more than a year since install. All service calls were related to this except for one where we had a smell from a plastic toy my son shoved in the top part. It did not damage anything and was easily removed by Mid Ohio Hearth. I asked to run this by Bob since he was familiar with our situation, but was told he is retiring. I’m hoping Mid Ohio Hearth can thoroughly investigate the problem, make this right, and fix it for good.

Terrible service. Inexperienced workers. Horrible communication. WouldNOT recommend. These guys installed two fireplaces in my new construction home. After home was constructed and they were turned on for the first time neither worked properly. One was going out after a few minutes and the other was creating thick black smoke inside the box, enough that that entire box got filled with soot. When I called Bob (the owner) to tell him about the issues he deflected all responsibility for the issue and didn’t even want to send out a tech. I was shocked at their lack of communication and customer service. Once he finally agreed to send his lead tech out (after 10 calls and lots of back and forth), the guy he sent (his best guy!!) completely misdiagnosed the issue. He told me it would take a full day to clean out the one fireplace and that he “didn’t have time” but I did it myself in less than 30 mins with some newspapers after watching a YouTube video after he left. He claimed the second fireplace needed some special part to be built in order for the flame not to dance but he obviously just had no idea what the problem was. Either way he called Bob while he was on the call and Bob told him to pack up and leave rather than fix either one. He also said they wouldn’t be coming back. The problem with both fireplaces ended up being a simple flue adjustment which could be done by a small lever underneath that Bob or the tech didn’t think to check. But a quick call to the fireplace manufacturer (or a look in the owners manual that I had for the tech) was all it took to clear up the issue on both fireplaces and I was able to fix them myself in less than 5 mins. These guys are crooks who don’t know what they are doing and do not stand behind their shoddy work. Take your business elsewhere!

Excellent prompt service. Couldn't have asked for more. Chris does excellent work and very knowledgeable and will work with you. My build is still a work in progress, but I'm really happy that I chose Mid Ohio Hearth.

Been waiting almost 2 years. They used covid for awhile and now a lack of employees. My opinion, no one want to work there with the very rude, and inappropriate customer service rep Ivy. She is always combative and very harsh, even a bit scary at times. One of the worst I've ever experienced.Unfortunately she is the point of contact for this company and makes them all seem bad. I give this company a zero star, but it made me choose at least one lol. We plan to follow up with all appropriate people in this matter to come to some kind of solution for this 2 year nightmare we are experiencing.So many GOOD companies out here, unfortunately folks, this just isn't one of them.

Called to schedule estimate, guy comes out and said he'll send quotes via email. Never did, when I called back I was told it is being prepared, been almost 2 weeks of nothing.

I was scheduled for an appointment to get an estimate and the sales rep Chris never showed up or called to let me know he got caught up with another job. When he did come the following day to look at my fireplace he wasn’t personable at all. Fast forward to a week later, I have yet to get an estimate or even an email or text back regarding my project!

Installed the Enviro G39 in November 2020. Have had several issues: The remote stopped working, dealer replaced it with a more reliable brand than the poor quality stock brand it came with. The blower motor stopped working, found out the supply wires were flimsy and too close to the burner pan, they melted. Dealer replaced with high temp wires. Not satisfied with the Enviro Unit, chincy components and poor design. Very difficult to disassemble to get to all components.I WOULD HAVE REPLACED THE WHOLE UNIT IF NOT FOR MID-OHIO HEARTH PRODUCTS OUTSTANDING SERVICE. ERIC AND BOB HAVE BEEN SUPER RESPONSIVE IN RESOLVING THESE ISSUES!

Dave did an outstanding job. He fixed the problem with our gas fireplace. He cleaned the glass in front of the fireplace. He painted the fireplace to look much better. His price was very fair.

We were able the schedule appt in a short time and Dave was on time with his appt. He was very helpful and explained to us how to maintain our fireplace. He answered all our questions. Definitely would use them again.Great service

Wanted to replace old fireplace logs. Everyone I contacted wanted to send tech out for $150 to inspect. Cost for new logs and burner $1200-1500. Paul came out at no cost and told me I just needed new logs. His price for new logs was lower than Amazon and he had in stock. Don't trust anyone else to do your fireplace!

I called to schedule an appt. to have my fireplace looked at. The very nice lady at the desk talked me through a few things to check out first and bingo I replaced some batteries inside the control box in inside the fireplace and it worked like a new one!! They could have charged me a service call to do that but she was so helpful for free. I would highly recommend this company and they will be the first place I call for future issues. Thank you very much

Needed help with a fireplace install and contacted them. Eric came out and I asked if he had done one of these before. He replied nope but I will google it. He got to work and had my fireplace installed in a few hours. WOW. He did an amazing job. Obviously he has a good sense of humor. If you are needing anything done with your fireplace call them and have them send eric he is the right guy for the job!!!

Our gas fireplace needed the valve replaced and, after being told by another company that it wasn't something they could do, Eric came out to service our fireplace and did a great job. He even took the time to fully clean and touch up some areas with spray paint that had become discolored over the years. The price was very reasonable. I would recommend them to anyone.
