Karavan is one of my favorite places to shop whenever I'm walking around the Short North. Beautiful items (especially the lamps) at relatively affordable prices. They also sell some high-end items like hand made rugs.

This is the second time I have stopped in Karavan while in Columbus. The store in itself is like a treasure chest of beautiful lighting, jewelry, gorgeous backgammon boards and chess sets and many other things to discover as you browse. Not only is the store wonderful but the man who was running the shop on my visits has been exceptionally kind and helpful. Should you be in the vicinity, I highly recommend you stop by.

Ok I am obsessed with this store, though I haven't bought a lot of things from here. It has been on High St for decades(?)-- before all the other boutiques and cool shops, Karavan was there amongst the art galleries that were once only speckled throughout the Short North. I loved it even as a teenager walking by with my friends. From the window, you are dazzled by a plethora of gorgeous glass mosaic lamps and jewelry, which is enough to make you want to come inside. The interior is colorful in every direction you look. They have everything from handmade clothing to hand-woven rugs, plus other beautiful home decor items. Recently I found out that if you purchase one of their mosaic globe lamps, the owner will allow you to bring the glass back and switch it out for a different color of globe whenever you want! Literally amazing. It's like the lamp that keeps on giving. I'm working towards my next big goal so I can justify buying one for myself as a reward because they aren't cheap, but they look to be worth every penny. Love Karavan!

Very nice artwork rings things from turkey. You really get a perspective of what you can in their culture. Great lights hanging lights if it fits your decor of your home. Easy walk-in things are kind of tight so be careful if you're in the wheelchair or with a cane. It might be kind of tight to get around without knocking things over

You will have fun looking at culture. All the art and decorations will inspire you. They have shoes to hanging lamps.

On two separate occasions the guy at the register tried to change the price of marked items. I came up with a $10 pillow cover and he tried to say they were actually $30. When I pointed out they both had $10 tags he back tracked and said someone else must've changed them behind his back and sized me up to see if he should try to get me to pay extra anyway. On the other occasion the guy told me he'd give me a deal for a coffee set at only $45. the set I was trying to buy was marked at $25 and when I pointed that out he said I was misreading it (I left without buying anything). On another occasion maybe four-ish years ago I took pictures of my friend while we were inside and when we went up to pay for some rings he tried to say $10 a picture and when I made it clear I wouldn't pay for any pictures and if he kept pushing it I wouldn't buy the rings either, he let it go. These interactions are each from a few years ago, but a friend recently went and also said she didn't buy anything because the clerk changed the prices multiple times while talking to her, so it reminded me. You can get much better prices online.

I walked into Karavan, on cold , horrible storm. The lovely couple, who ran store, helped me tremendously, bought beautiful, Turkish fish, as a present for my sister. They took the time to educate me on Turkish plate. They bubble wrapped, took time and care, also gentleman owner gave me good luck charms.They work!Please shop in this exotic store, I return in May, my first stop, Karavan

Beautiful items, but there was a male clerk that was very rude. When we entered the establishment he did not greet us, but stared nastily. When other people entered he greeted them immediately. Not fond of discrimatory experiences.

Great selection of quality rugs, furnishings, and jewelry. Max sources his imports from longtime suppliers. Very pleased with all our purchases.
