After a lot of wrestling with Huntington Bank over a check that was deposited, I finally was able to receive my money and access to my account. I deposited a gift check from a friend that was less than $5000 (when alarms are typically raised for the IRS, Homeland Security, etc.)- in this amount I could understand several days processing time. However, it was held up for over a week by Akron, OH fraud department. During my first interactions with the bank, I was told that I was subsequently not allowed to access the funds that were in my account prior to the deposit either. I did some research and discovered that this was not only misinformed, but potentially illegal. I was told that I should bring the physical check in. I did so, at another branch which I hoped to be more helpful. It was, and after a few days the funds were available. However, the reason for the hold-up was either over a blurry photo or names being spelled in capital letters. I never really found out what it was, and had to finagle financially for over a week. Being denied access to my prior funds was an outrageous situation, and on top of that I discovered from my friend that the original funds had cleared from his account the day after the mobile deposit!! They knew the money was there, and had no reason to hold my funds except for the enforcement of a hyper cautious policy that enables them to collect floating interest. The laws in this situation are blurry, especially post-9/11, but I had such a negative experience just trying to deposit a check (after being an 8 year customer) that I can't give them any more than 1 star even after the resolution of the situation.

The drive up atms hardly ever work for deposits. Working in the service industry, I like to deposit my cash right after my shift, but there always seems to be an issue with one or both of the machines. There’s another drive up atm machine about a mile away and it’s more reliable, but it has issues as well. The people that work here are great, but because of my needs, I am going to have to switch banks.

Fees are ridiculous for cashing checks without an account. They have waived some fees for me at times but I feel I shouldn't have been charged the fees in the first place.

Absolute worst customer service and on-line assistance of any bank I've ever dealt with. Have to send payments registered mail and they still don't process.
Changed to 3 stars after Huntington banker called to apologize and made things right on my recent issues.
