Double check all of your information including payment forms. My last rental was charged to the wrong card. Still trying to get that corrected with no luck.

I was threatened because the front desk guy didn't know what he was talking about. Tried to talk to me like I was a kid and use hand gestures to shoe me away like a dog. Lol I'm in the presidents club and this how they treat their members? Never got a free upgrade option or nothing. I'll be reaching out to corporate! Abdi is his name.

P.S. I see there are numerous one star reviews on here for the same thing! I sure wish I had read them BEFORE renting and getting gouged for $586 of stuff I didn't do!!!!!! I also contacted Hertz corporate to let them know that this branch is losing customers for them left and right. It's apparently a huge SCAM.

This is not a corporate location! It's a locally owned and you will receive zero support from hertz. I've never felt so scammed by a business. I was wrongfully charged over $4k when they repaired every imperfection that had been previously on this van. They will send your bill to PURCO to collect, an equally scammy company. There's a reason why they have TONS of 1 star reviews with the same complaints. The owner of this placed should be ashamed.

There is some obsolete information that Hertz is in the terminal - it's locations is the same as all other companies, in the common car rental center with the purple airport bus. Points off for not having an electronic screen for status renters. There is a separate line for status renters, and you get to the counter quicker, but you still must go through all the "Do you want insurance, do you want to buy the gas, do you want to upgrade?".......you know, all the stuff you already told them on line? That's the other star off. Otherwise, a car of the reserved type was clean and ready , return was easy. Rented noon on a Friday and returned 6Pm Sunday night. Actually a lot of staff for the size of this location.

I should have reviewed the reviews here! Like several people posting here, I was also hit with a $400 "cleaning fee" on my bill after returning the car (with no mention of it at the time I returned the car). After working about a week to get any response from Hertz, I got the response that it was for smoking. I do not smoke and have never smoked in my life! And Hertz continued to claim that he charge was appropriate even though I explained I returned the car in the exact same shape as I received it in. I recommend renting elsewhere.

I would have given them 0 stars. I made a reservation with Hertz through Priceline. We made the reservation 3 months ago mind you. We got a phone call the day before we were to pick it up saying that they were closed on Saturday. They had 3 months to tell us this. If they had of called us in the morning, even by lunchtime would have been better. So we didn't get any car because they closed every location at 5pm except the airports. They wanted me to pay 1 and a half the price I prepaid. It went from $157 t0 $450. I of course declined. They asked me to call Priceline because they have my money. Then Priceline seed me to call hertz. They kept my money. Hertz did the bait and switch. It was not my fault that they booked me on a fly they were closed.

I arrived at Columbus Thursday and I was very tired. I'm a Gold Plus member and had been told by a Hertz representative previously in Pittsburg that I was Gold Plus, which was something I didn't even know. In any case, I stood in the Gold Plus line and was rebuffed by the gentleman at the counter. He said that he saw my reservation, but it wasn't made through Gold Plus. I informed him that a Hertz employee was the one who told me that I was Gold Plus. he said I'd have to get in the other line. So I went to the regular line a bit confused. When I was finally called to the counter (in the mean time, one of my co-workers texted me that our Zoom call, with all of the other managers had started and I needed to hop on when I was able), a woman named Leni found my reservation and also need that my number wasn't in the system. That was a bit confusing since I used the same system to reserve the car as I usually did. In any case, Leni did something that could have easily been done by the other person I'd spoken to in the Gold Plus line. She worked with me to get my number in the system (or back into thesyatme( and offered me an upgrade. Before leaving, I asked for her name as I think it's as important to reward great service as it is to report bad service. I ended up missing most of my conference call, but I did catch the tail end and was able to catch up with someone later. Thank you Leni!

If you are flying into columbus, have your eyes open. I rented a car for 3 days, paid for insurance and the gas plan. Tried to be a good little hertz customer. Dropped the car off at 5.30am on the day I said I would have it back . Hertz turned my 3 day rental into a 6 day rental. The email was very basic, here is your final invoice. Unfortunately for them, I look at the final invoice. 409$ became 888$I called them and the first guy laughed and said that happened all the time, he would be happy to 'refund' me the fraudulently charged day. Then spoke to 'manager' Angela Lowe who offered me a rental coupon. har har. I told her she was going to set credit my card back to at least what I had authorized and told her I expected an extra day's credit since she had been caught padding the bill. I asked her if it was the case they didnt notice my car there for 3 days , or possibly they fat fingered the return date by 3 days.... Much more plausible... they didnt expect my to pay attention to the final bill. 3 weeks later, my card is still higher than what it should be. She had a chance to come clean. I have contested the charge and I am letting my fellow travelers know to keep an eye on hertz columbus.

I do not recommend under any circumstance renting from hertz at columbus airport ...over charged me claiming the car had ashes in it it had been snowing in the colombus area for 2 days.i have chronic obstruction pulmonary disease I cannot be anywhere near any kind of smoke.i will exasperate and wide up in the hospital .the first suv they gave me was a beat up v.w with no heater brakes squealing .I didn't even get out of their facility and had to return it IMMEADITELY. They then gave me a toyota forerunner .it was driven 151 miles ..when I returned the vehicle it was snowing..they then claimed I smoked in it ..not true my 5 year old granson didn't smoke init..point being the first vehicle they didn't even know the heater didn't work nor the brakes squealed .so how can I take their word about it having ashes or smoke in the second vehicle .my advice rent from another company

Hello, I'm the Hertz Gold Reward President's Circle Elite status member. Also, I used Ohio State University program to book my rental car. By the time I arrived at the shop, they only offer me a Chrysler. At first, they asked for my ID and then asked for my student ID. After they checked both of them, they asked for my student email because they said I'm look big different. I am look chubbier now. Is this some kind of discrimination to Asians or a chubby person? I'm really upset that I didn't get treated as the Gold Reward President's Circle Elite member suppose to be, and I ended up didn't get the car. It ruined my Thanksgiving trip that I have to get a car from a different car rental company.

Can you give less than 1 star? Accused of vehicle damage which is INSANE. No one even inspected the vehicle and 2 months later we get a letter saying it was and a bill from some company. Ummm sounds sketchy to me. NEVER NEVER rent!!

I was falsely accused of smoking in a car by Hertz at the Columbus, Ohio Airport. I don't smoke. No one smoked in the car while I had it. I didn't notice any smoke smell when I had the car. But AFTER I turned the car in I got hit with a $238 charge for cleaning. I questioned it and got back pictures of."evidence" that I had smoked in the car, but they were all low resolution and I couldn't really even tell what they were trying to show me.I've seen lots of similar stories on the web. I won't book there again.
