Great place with great people, but I have no clue why outlet & switch wall plates are much higher price than retail. Usually they say, "That price is ridiculous," and they give it to you for 10 cents, but some times they take the price tag or nothing. I don't understand it.

Habitat for Humanity plays an essential role in providing affordable housing and building community connections, which is why they’re widely valued. Their dedication to supporting families in need through volunteerism and homeownership opportunities is impactful. However, as someone who has worked within the organization, I’ve observed several internal and strategic challenges that seem to indicate a disconnect between Habitat’s mission and some of its practices.
One area of concern is Habitat’s current approach to modeling all stores in line with a single, upper-class location. While the standardized model may bring consistency, it doesn’t necessarily fit the needs of each unique community Habitat serves. For stores in more economically diverse areas, an upscale model can inadvertently create barriers to accessibility, shifting focus away from the affordability that is at the heart of Habitat’s mission. Adapting each store to align with its specific community could enhance the organization’s local impact, ensuring it remains responsive to the economic realities of those it aims to support.
Additionally, within the organization, there are opportunities for improvement in workplace culture. Limited training and inconsistent leadership have contributed to challenges that affect both employees and volunteers, especially those with specific needs or disabilities. Efforts to address these concerns have not always been met with the openness one might expect, which may reflect a need for greater alignment between Habitat’s external values and internal practices.
Overall, Habitat for Humanity has the potential to serve as a true model of inclusivity and community-focused action. By tailoring store operations to fit local needs and fostering a more supportive internal environment, the organization can amplify its mission and deepen its positive impact across communities.

Prices are insanely high. Many, many items can be found cheaper at the box stores. Not sure why they would turn donated items and helping the community into a money grab.

I've been buying things 10 years from here. Use to be good place for buying good stuff for remodeling. For a 503c it now outrageously expensive to help them out. Ceo is cleaning up by charging retail prices with risky purchase...if it doesn't work it's yours, if it breaks its yours NO REFUNDS. You can sometimes find good things like hotel towels furniture if you don't have alot of money. Buy at your own RISK! I see them collecting a lot of community money but where are the homes and help HFH funds for under privilege people really going too?

They don't care about animals. Their solution to the strays that have been fed for years...stop feeding them. Why not try and help them. Humanity requires empathy for animals.

This is a nice store! They have a good selection of stuff. Anything you can possibly need for your home you can find here. When I went they had a huge flower sale and a lot of options. Some of the other items were a little pricey but they had some good stuff.

Insanely overpriced selection. Chipped, beaten up furniture for hundreds of dollars, used appliances for less than 50% off retail. These items are donations intended to make important home elements more accessible to people who cannot afford brand new things. Idk who is actually purchasing here besides contractors looking to save a few bucks on materials.
