Back in September I needed new brakes and tires on my VW, but one of my locking lugs was stripped. The VW dealership was going to charge me a LOT to remedy this issue, then I was recommended to Automotive Specialists by word of mouth. These guys took on the challenge of getting the bolt off and getting me out the door with new tires and brakes at a very reasonable price. They literally saved me hundreds of dollars that I would have spent at the dealer (nothing against VW, but they were going to make me get a whole new locking key $$$$). They went the extra mile and scheduled me at the right time to qualify me for a rebate, found the best prices on VW parts, and kept me updated the whole time, as it was an ordeal just finding someone who would address the locking lug. It was a pleasure working with them, and I will do it again in the future. Thanks guys!Services: Brakes

Took our F150 in for manifold. Not only did they fix that but found some other issues that could be fixed but wasn't necessary at that time. No pressure and quality work at a decent price.

Showed up to buy an intake that I asked about yesterday and this morning, offered to send PayPal or Venmo to pay immediately when Lori told me it was available, she declined and said she had some family things to do, and to be there at 5, when I show up nobody is there and Lori will no longer return messages, I go to see if anyone is inside and the UNLOCKED DOOR sets off the alarm ! 20 minutes later Lori messages me and says someone showed up before me and says sorry that I wasted a trip all the way across town. What a low down rotten dirty rotten way to conduct business. Apparently I wasn't the only victim.

I sell cars for a living and I sold a vehicle to a customer last week who told me about this place. She told me that they were trustworthy and reasonable. Coincidentally a week later, my Chevy broke down, so I figured I'd check this place out. The only negative thing I have to say about the place is its appearance can use some work. Appearances are over rated. What's not over rated is having a mechanic you can trust to not try and up sell you on fixing something that's not broken and then over charge you after they've unnecessarily fixed your vehicle. This place only reinforced what I was told by the woman who I sold my car to. My fiancé was driving my car at the time of break down, we decided to take it to this shop, upon entrance I spoke to Jim, the owner and Laura his logistics clerk. Long story short, Brian, a mechanic who works there called me 2 hours later to let me know that there were a couple things that could be wrong, but in his professional opinion, my best option was to take a bottle of .90 cent gas cleaner, dump it in my gas tank and continue driving it.... You must understand I know nothing about cars, nothing (mechanically speaking). They could have told me the M lines on the rodeo gerter were out and it was $1,200 to get me back rolling and I would have had to believe them. Instead, they replaced my drivers side head light, got my vehicle back running good and charged me $103.00. I'm happy to say that I've found my mechanics garage for my tenure in Columbus. I highly recommend this place, good people with values own it. Update** I took my Chevy Equinox here and asked for a tune up. When I called the next day to see if it was the done I spoke to the owner. My car did not receive a tune up because the owner told me that it would not be worth putting any money into my car because "my rods were knocking and it was only a matter of a few hundred miles before my car died" this ruined my whole day because I believed him. This guy had the audacity to tell me "he was in the market for an equinox and offered me $100" he was dead serious. Finally after work I went to pick it up, 36 hours after I had dropped it off and not so much as my oil had been changed. I took it to a Chevy dealership to get a second opinion and there was absolutely nothing wrong with my other than the fact it needed an oil change. Do not ever go to this place. I will say, the mechanic Brian was still really nice, he did help us out as always. He was not aware of the above situation until I filled him in. He kind of rolled his eyes so as to say "not again".

An awesome honest car repair shop. Won't charge for extraneous repairs and will call if they find something that should be addressed other than what the vehicle was brought in for. Trustworthy.

Very caring staff -- came in with concerns with my car running sluggishly. Brian checked my oil, and taught me how to do it myself for the next time. Will definitely be back next time I have car concerns!

Brian was extremely accommodating for a seal that needed to be replaced. The issue was diagnosed quickly, part ordered and problem fixed before the end of the day. I was happy that it was a fast and inexpensive fix, but I now I'm glad to know where to go should something more complicated occur.

My family and I have taken several vehicles here. Their name matches them well...they are truly Specialists. They always keep a budget in mind and call you before they do any work that was not part of the initial estimate. They don't try to upsell you on ridiculous charges for inspecting the OBD computer of your car as I've gotten while going to other shops. I've always gotten the experience that these are mechanics that KNOW what they are doing and they aren't learning how to fix stuff with your vehicle, which is something that I've sadly gathered from other places while spending a good amount of money. As long as Automotive Specialists keeps open, I have peace of mind that I know that any issue that I have with our vehicles, a fix is not far. It is a bit of a drive for us, but we don't mind. I always recommend this place to people in need of competent Automotive mechanics.
