I’ve given 2+ gallons of blood and have never had such a terrible experience! When I arrived no one seemed to notice I had walked in. When Jasper finally came out to greet me he acted like I was an inconvenience. While taking my information he kept making comments, I’m not sure if he was trying to be funny or what but he came off very rude and unprofessional. Also, I have never been asked my social security number in all the times I have donated. Upon me sitting on the donation table, I requested to be supine because that’s what I prefer. He said sit up for now and I’ll lay you down later, again odd but okay. While I waited for him to gather the bag and all the supplies he kept making comments about the news, I’m all for sharing beliefs but there’s a time and place for that. Jasper then proceeded to make 5 marks on my arm before sticking me. When he stuck my arm he missed the vein. The second after he stuck me he said, “oh you’re bleeding slow, I don’t think it will work”. I asked what I could do to help the blood flow, he said nothing. A couple minutes later he told me he was going to pull the needle out because I was bleeding too slow. I again asked if there was anything to be done so I could continue with my donation, again nothing suggested. He placed the cotton on my arm and stated that it wouldn’t have blood on it because I had clotted already. I held my arm while he went to get the bandage, when I removed the cotton my arm was bleeding fairly well. After the bandage was on he told me I had to wait for an ice pack, when I declined, he snapped that it was protocol and to hang tight. When he came back I requested that the ice pack not be placed in between my bandage and the red wrapping, which he declined and proceeded to wrap the ice pack to my arm anyways. Maybe this is standard procedure in Columbus but I can tell you it isn’t in Southern Ohio. Very disappointed with the Red Cross, this location and Jasper!

Great place ? the staff here are super friendly, helpful, and welcoming. I dread giving blood..I am a wimp...it really grosses me out but these extremely nice ladies went out of their way to help me get through it. Super great lovely workers here with kind souls. (And strong stomachs!!) They even gave me a warm blanket AND a pillow for my back! Because again..I am high maintenance...but these amazing women could roll with it. And the really really cool thing is that the workers at the Red Cross frequently tell donors thank you...which is so kind...and REFRESHING because often (sadly) I don't hear the words "Thank you" as often at most businesses anymore. ? Oh! Almost forgot...the sticker that I received today had my favorite hockey team logo on it--and I am wearing one of my hockey shirts ?

I donated blood for the first time today and everyone here was super friendly and went out of their way to make sure my experience was a good one! Nyema in particular was great and helped me feel relaxed when I otherwise may have been nervous. Recommend going here :)

I have been donating platelets and plasma for several years at Carriage Place. I find the staff to be skilled, caring, and fun. I will continue to donate here.

I have donated whole blood and platelets at Carriage Place several times. I have never waited more than a few minutes to be seen. The staff is very professional. They were especially kind to me during my platelet donation. I was freezing, so they gave me 6 heated blankets to make me more comfortable.

Be prepared to wait. I've come here a few times and your appointment time is not a priority. Got tired of waiting for over 30 minutes without a word from anyone. Left and won't be back. An explanation, apology, expected wait time, etc. Zero consideration. It's only time, right?

Lee and Laura we’re super nice. Was very easy to set an appointment online and a very quick and easy registration. Didn’t even need to wait at all.

I donated blood for the first time on Tuesday April 6. I started at 6:50 in the evening. I have a history of blood-needle phobias, but I really wanted to do a direct donation for my friend's little sister. I knew I wouldn't do well, but I had hoped the staff would help me a little bit. They were a bit condescending. After a finger p**** for hemoglobin levels, I had to rest my head on a desk when I got dizzy. Two ladies watched me from the doorway. The one who helped me (I won't name unless asked) told me if I couldn't handle the p***** I couldn't go through with the donation. I managed to get it together and assure them I really wanted to do it. She had me for my blood draw as well. I felt like she hated my guts, either for taking too long or getting dizzy, I don't know. She switched to a terrible fake-nice attitude during the donation. I was uncomfortable the whole time. I made conversation anyway, to help me keep my mind off the procedure. What she did do well was insert the needle (no pain at the site of injection, well done) and she kept me from passing out. When I was all done, I had to lie down a few times when she tried to give me snacks; I was super dizzy still. I guess I took too long to recover. She said if I didn't recover soon, she'd call an ambulance. I was afraid. When I was able to go to the refreshment area, she said she'd stay until I was well enough to leave. She walked out five minutes later, as I watched in disbelief and confusion. If anyone wants further context, let me know. And I may go to gahanna next time; this visit could have been much better.

I go to this location every time, as I donate a few times a year. Everyone has always been very nice and professional (especially Shawn M)! They make sure you're ok and do their best to make you comfortable. Clean, competent and efficient.

Very busy site with the high need for donations. They know all donors by name and are very attentive.

Solid place! OUTSTANDING crew. I see negative reviews on here, and i think everyone should keep in mind that many if the staff are volunteers. Don't be a prima donna and respect the place for what it is. Everyone here has the same goal in mind. They too are impacted by a raging pandemic and are frequently short of staff. Everyone in this place greets you with a smile, everyone thanks you for your time and everyone appreciates your donation. This facility is clean, friendly and there are technicians who are so good at their jobs that you don't even feel the needle. Free Netflix and a super relaxing chair while they diligently work with your donation to save lives. How could you not love this place? Also, they have the best Cheez-it's in the Columbus area.
