They need to listen to patient concerns more closely, I presented with a self advocated allergy that was completely ignored then made worse directly from the lack of professionalism due to staffing so many young students here. Giving me what I just said im allergic to, then lying about it, is concerning.

TAKE NOONE TO THIS HOSPITAL.STROKE PATIENT LEFT IN WAITING ROOM OVER 5 HOURS AFTER BEING BROUGHT BY AMBULANCE FROM ANOTHER HOSPITAL.My father was taken to Highland District Hospital where we were told he had a stroke. We were told he had to be transported to OSU Hospital via ambulance as it was a stroke center and could assess the damage for this stroke. When I arrived at OSU with my mother we saw my dad was sitting in a wheelchair in the emergency room. He had been sitting for two hours already. His basic vitals were checked and an IV port was put in his arm and then they wheeled him back out to the waiting room. Less then ten minutes was spent with him. My father sat in that wheelchair over four hours when I finally asked the receptionist if they had even taken my dad's blood sugar as he was a diabetic. The didn't even know he was a diabetic. Another thirty minutes later and I had to ask again about the blood sugar. Finally, it was taken and he again was wheeled back to the waiting room. My dad arrived at this hospital at 330 pm. At 8 pm my dad tore his gown off while in the waiting room and tried to remove the IV access line. We left OSU after my dad was still sitting without treatment over five hours after multiple requests despite the other hospital diagnosing him with a stroke.Hospital have a stroke protocol that is supposed to be followed as time matters. The doctor at OSU (without even seeing him) allegedly decided dad was past the time frame for his care to matter. This is why he was placed in the waiting room for five hours. It did not matter that Highland District sent him because they had diagnosed a stroke. No doctor saw my dad at OSU at all.In the mean time we continued to see individuals walking around eating taco bell and in zero discomfort being walked back to be seen. There was another individual sitting in the ER, missing one leg with surgical cuts completely up and down her other leg. She had been sitting longer then my dad. She was grimacing in pain. Apparently the cancer in her pelvis and pain was too much. She seemed alone as well. No one to advocate. While I was with my father getting his sugar checked I mentioned this woman in obvious pain. I received a head shake from the woman and nothing else. The woman in pain was never acknowledged the entire time I was there.I'm disgusted. I'm disgusted money maters more then quality of life. I'm disgusted insurance is such a joke. I am disgusted people go without life saving medications for greed. I'm disgusted this Hospital did NOTHING to assist a stroke victim.Do NOT send anyone new to this joke of a hospital.

Zero stars if I could. Just read the reviews. Seems to be a theme. Extremely and unacceptable wait times. Pathetic for OSU. My wife waited 7hrs with chest pains and shortness of breath. Oh don't worry. They will take you back for any test that you may need. They want to get paid for something since they know most will probably walk out because of the wait times. Then to be told it would be another 7+ hrs wait time. Don't mixed up the incompetent staff in ER with the hospital itself. The hospital side is great. Now please please get your ER in check. Whomever is in charge of ER, please read these reviews and not just brush them off and do something to correct these issues!!

I’ve never had the greatest experience at OSU’s main emergency department. I have a chronic illness that lands me in the emergency department more frequent than not, and I have never had my chronic illness taken seriously by anyone I have ever been taken care of. I receive very snarky comments when I try to advocate for myself and my chronic illness, and most of the time just get disregarded and everything blamed on my illness all the time. Overall, I’d go to another ED before I’d go to this one.

Unless you’re actively dying expect to wait 8 hours before being seen.

Cancer patients and people in horrific pain sat in 2 seperate lobbies fir over 9 hrs , some were forgotten about smh! They say they're short staffed, what they are is unorganized as you can be shortstaffed yet organized! Straight out of a 90s apollcolypse movie smh!!

I would rather go to third world country veterinarian who is not licensed with no medical background than go here. It's literally the hell hole of the universe.

My night shift nurse was so rude and unprofessional. My fiance injured himself n an accident and she came in and I asked a question and she blew me off and told me I didn’t know what I was talking about. The doctor walked in as she was trying to discharge us and the doctor was even confused why she was trying to discharge us before a ortho trauma consult that was needed. The doctor nicely said something about her discharging us before the consults and she became super defensive and raised her voice. After words I said sorry to the nurse and she walked out without saying a word. Very rude very unprofessional. She couldn’t have shown it any better that she hates what she does!! Also the nurse never came to check on us for 4 hours. In the emergency department there is a rule that you have to lay eyes on patient hourly. It’s called hourly rounding.

For such a renowned hospital this ED is terrible. I’m interested to know the max occupancy in the tiny waiting room, as it is not posted. Zero people were called back the first 1.5hrs we were there. People lined up in wheelchairs in the halls. Soiled blankets all over.
