“Kathleen has created such a special place in Rose Parlor. She is a true artist who brings her mastery and easygoing nature to each visit. I always leave feeling amazing (and usually with a few "new" vintage items from the gorgeously curated shop in front.)”

“It's called Gems for a reason, I'll give you three: 1) the jewelry is lovely 2) everything is reasonably priced 3) Mary, the proprietor, is an absolute delight. We spent at least ten minutes chatting about fine art and fashion.I bought four pairs of earrings and I fell in love with each and every pair. (She chose the silver pair, I'd have never chosen that, but she clearly has excellent taste) Many many thanks Mary- I will be back!”

“What a wonderful maze! It was well curated and clean and just an interesting place to get a bit lost in. We came directly here after Sweet Lorain and yowza what a difference. Honestly I was having a bit of a claustrophobic reaction to the last place (allergies more like it) and Flower Child calmed me down.”

“These guys are incredibly nice and accommodating. I called to ask about selling some records and Noah answered. He was friendly, courteous and patient as I mentioned what I had to sell. Also, honest. The day I arrived I could not remember exactly where the store was, so I called again. Noah was very kind again and narrowed it down. Upon entry Noah was very friendly and helpful. He smiled and we laughed at some of the goofiness I entered the store with. I think I had two LP boxes, and Noah came to aid. Pete the owner came out at some point and amidst all the small talk, you could tell these folks are what small independent places need. They went through my stuff and we'd have some small chats todo about nothing really. I can babble when I sense friendliness. Save in point if you're reading the review. You could see the regulars that come by, other folks... and just a genuine cool place with a cool owner and co-worker. They could teach a graduate school class on customer service. We need that lately it seems! On a scale of 1-5 they should get a 10 for just being human and humane. As I was leaving Pete and I had a very cool, relatively personal conversation which was very endearing. So if you're on the east side of CLE or early for a show at the Beachland on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday... check em out!”

“Star pop is a cute little vintage store in the Waterloo District. We have visited Waterloo several times recently and this is the first time it has been open. We had to stop in and take a look. Despite being a small store the amount of inventory was enormous. You could tell the owner has been buying/collecting for some time. I think he was actually looking at items to purchase when we were in the store. Although we didn't purchase anything on this trip we will definitely stop by again. There appeared to be many hard to find items and items that were very nostalgic. It was fun to look around. The prices seemed fair.”
