Got into a hairy situation at SPACES gallery this past weekend. The immersive installation featured sounds, scents, tables full of liquorice and huge sculptural tapestries made of human hair!

I've never been there. But a few days ago. I seen a peice on the news. That was about an amazing artist , that lives in Cleveland....Leigh BrooklynI called Spaces , to ask about the people's choice award voting. The person I spoke to was really nice , and very helpful. From pictures I seen on Spaces website. It's a really nice looking art gallery. So if you get the chance , check it out. And check out Leigh's art work , she's amazing! And if you like what you see , please vote for her.Have a good day & stay safe ?

Tonight we went to the Monster Drawing Rally with 100+ artists that draw, paint, print, sketch as many pieces of art as possible in 1 hour and then we (seemed like 500 attendees) get purchase for a minimum of $75 or to highest bidder! All proceeds benefit the SPACES studio. Every hour a new group of artists take to the tables and create their work. So cool we were pleasantly surprise to see so many mediums not just drawing. There was beer for purchase and free snacks (chips, soda, Water & ice cream) We were abmarranged to commission a custom piece from one of the artists!

Went to an art exhibit, at 10$ a head, overcrowded and boring, it was just a bunch of lunch room tables in a big room and people drawing. If it wasn't for some of the art I liked Id have gave it a 1 rating.

I won 2 tickets from Yelp to come to a dance show here on 9 December 2018. The show that I attended was titled INTERPLAY: An Evening of Ekphrastic Dance. This was not a Yelp event but a SPACES event. I attended on a Friday night with my friend and former roommate. SPACES is a venue located west of downtown Cleveland where works of art are displayed just as you would find in an art gallery but they also have events throughout the year. The show I attended was very different for me and my first time experiencing this type of art form. Some people may find interpretive dance strange but if you come with an open mind then you will enjoy it or at least leave experiencing something different. I will rate my experience 4.5/5. I misread the program pamphlet but I later found out that 2 different artists were performing at the same time so attendees could select who they wanted to watch. I didn't know this at first so I did miss one performance (by an artist named Robert) which is fine. The performances were actually repeated for people who showed up later to the evening (there was a 2 hour window to walk around and watch the performances). It is hard to explain this show but you can take a look at my posted videos for further details. My favourite piece was the woman who performed a movement dance detailing her feelings with the local media. She had newspapers lined up on the floor and at one point started laughing and crying to express her feelings. Many of the other dancers like her had amazing balance, core strength, and flexibility. They were all very talented in their own unique way. Here is the official dance show description - "Six local choreographers converge to create movement poetry in a vivid portrayal of modern art. View original works from diverse perspectives and watch art literally come to life." I recommend visiting SPACES on a weeknight or weekend. It is a fun environment and encourages you to open up your artistic side if you aren't normally inclined to do so. I will definitely have to come back here to explore more of the featured art on the walls. Their gallery hours during exhibitions are Tuesdays - Sundays from 12:00noon - 5:00pm, Thursdays until 8pm, and closed on Mondays. *** - This is my 159th Yelp review overall (updated reviews not included in this number). - I have written 113 Yelp reviews in 2018. - I'm now aiming for 200 total reviews before 2018 ends (just 41 reviews left to meet my goal....haha).

I attended the event "Interplay" that was recently at SPACES. This was a very interesting event. Personally I have no real understanding of modern art or interpretive dance so this was very eye-opening for me. All of the dancers are clearly extremely talented. Some of dancers core strength was amazing. My personal favorite dancer was Robert. His performance was simply beautiful. The facility itself was actually a very great space and it's in a great location in Hingetown which I enjoyed. It's very versatile space and I can see them being able to do plenty of things here. Overall it was a great experience.
