Rising Star is a great place to meet friends, grab a hot chocolate, hang out around friendly strangers, get work done, or snag a delicious bun. Highly recommend.

I realize they serve dinner beginning at 5 and the coffee shop technically stops at that point. But they really need to re-examine how they makes patrons aware of this. OR, they just need to bite the bullet and let people stay, because their current protocol is really bad.I was meeting a friend for coffee at 4:30 yesterday and having a nice time, and then an employee comes over and says something to the effect of, "Excuse, we begin serving dinner at 5 so we will have to ask you to leave" and then she walks off. She didn't have an attitude or anything, but she wasn't particularly friendly, either. No matter how you cut it, it's just bad service to walk up to patrons and tell them to leave. Especially considering there was only two other people in the whole cafe. I could understand more if scores of people were waiting in line for dinner, but that wasn't the case. It just left a bad taste in my mouth.

Love me some Rising Star. They really turned the old Lee diner into a really nice space that fits into our barrio nicely. Rising Star always slings out great coffee. I typically get whatever they are brewing but their espresso drinks are always perfect as well. The folks that work their are very chill and friendly. Great stop on my way to workVegetarian options: Vegan pastries and treatsDietary restrictions: V/GF pastries and treats

Always pleasant! The seating area is vibes and the staff are always kind, helpful and speedy! They also have the best coffee around, I was always a sugar in my coffee person but not here.

There is a Asian place here now, A Bun Dance. We got bun and dumplings. Honestly, a little underwhelmed. The buns were the same size as the dumplings. Definitely not worth 30 some dollars.

This is one of the coolest coffeeshops I've been to merely for the fact that it's in an old diner with what feels like lots of original decor cleanly preserved. The stainless aesthetic definitely feels like it's from a different era, in a good way. It's Rising Star coffee, which I always enjoy, but the staff here prepare things well which is the important part. I've never had anything less than warm interactions with the staff, although I'm a bit biased because we're regulars at this point. The interior seems to have been patterned after the dining car on a train, too, which is an added bonus for me as a train n**** Abundance Culinary is currently running out of the kitchen here as well, so I recommend trying the buns if you need a quick lunch. An asset to the neighborhood, we're there pretty much every weekend.

Showed up fifteen minutes before closing, and was told they were closed. Explanation barista gave me was that Saturdays are usually slow later in the evening and they tend to close early. This isn't okay, because we looked at the hours before we went, and knew we could get there in time for a couple cups. We had friends visiting from out of town who expressed interest in Rising Star, because we told them it's the best coffee in Cleveland. This was a long trip for everyone just to be met with this explanation. Change your hours or don't close early. This was a huge disappointment, and an embarrassment for myself as host.

Rising star is a solid, dependable, Cleveland Heights, coffee shop staple. You'll probably always find a student or two there studying, as their hours run a little bit longer than other coffee shops in the area. Their drinks are very delicious and reasonably priced, and I find myself always gravitating towards the jasmine latte and other floral inspired lattes. They also have a small selection of pastries, which are quite good. While they themselves don't have savory food for meals, the occasionally will have special pop-ups from local stores. They previously had a pizza place that would serve lunch, and currently have abundance, a Chinese inspired spot, with limited hours for meal times.

Favorite coffee place in Cleveland. Some of the best coffee I've ever had (vanilla bean latte with oat milk). Good vegan foods (bagels, muffins, and some sweets). Good amount of seating, too. Situated in an old diner, the atmosphere is great, and the baristas always friendly and professional.

Disappointing. I want to like them but I’ve been here numerous times and tried different coffees/teas, plus their box of joe coffee and all of them have been…just really bad. Whatever roast they use is super acidic and tastes old the second it’s brewed. Their chai is just miserable. Go to Luna or Stone Oven instead

I was in the area and needed a pick me up around opening time. I’m not a big coffee fan so I was happy to see they did have matcha. The barista made it the traditional way which was good to see. It was pretty good and the baristas were very nice. This place looks like it was an old diner, very cool vibe!

Great atmosphere, I loved that they restored the old diner for the coffee shop. Plenty of seating (and plugs!) and of course always the best coffee in town!!!

Good coffee, good atmosphere, and connected to a diner.

Lots of teas to choose from and several baked goods always as well. Lots of seating in an old diner attached to the coffee shop. I ordered my drink tonight at 633pm after a long rough day, sat down at 636pm, then they immediately came and told me I had to leave because they decided to close at 630 that day. Why serve me at all if you were closed and I couldn't even eat and drink my purchases there?
