I had a wonderful experience with ModernCre8ve purchasing a Santa Monica Extension Walnut Table. First contacted Robert more than a year before I actually ordered the table and he was very responsive, informative and kind throughout many phone calls and follow ups on design and materials. After buying the table I followed up with an order of 8 Sylvan chairs to go with the table. The finish and craftsmanship is excellent for both the table and chairs and ModernCre8ve was communicative at every step. An excellent experience and a heavy recommendation for this company and their products.

*Update: changing to three stars from two for now. Someone from the business contacted me right away upon seeing this review. After discussing it and seeing pictures they acknowledged there was a mistake with the construction of the bed and volunteered to remake the re-ship it to us. There's clearly some issues with customer service and things falling through the cracks at the moment, but I do appreciate them finally responding and agreeing to fix the issue. I will adjust the review to 4 stars from 3 once we actually receive the corrected bed.*
I hate to leave a negative review for any small business, but since Modern Cre8tive has not responded to our inquiries about the issues with our order, I don't feel I have any other recourse. We placed an order for the Bosco bed back in October. The (I believe) owner who I spoke to about the order was very pleasant to deal with. They agreed to make us a custom bed with a slightly shorter headboard to fit our space and even gave me a slight discount up front for the materials they would save. They estimated the bed to take 8-10 weeks. It took significantly longer than that and only just arrived last week. That alone is not a huge deal since I understand supply chain issues are weird, etc. However, when the bed arrived there was a problem with the construction. The installers had trouble assembling it, because either the sides were built upside down or the corner braces were. Originally they installed the sides with the slat braces, facing down, which was the only way possible, given the orientation of the steel corner braces. After discussing it, they decided to remove the steel corner braces, flip and reinstall them so that the slat mounts were facing up. In doing this, however, the slats are mounted far higher than intended (not recessed as described), and the bed sits at least 2” too high. We have a very tall mattress and the recessed feature was a big part of the reason we wanted this bed. As it is now, the mattress almost covers the headboard entirely, which defeats the purpose of the beautiful headboard, and the bed looks pretty silly. The bed frame IS beautiful - but however, we have left 3-4 phone messages, and sent 2 emails since our bed was delivered 10 days ago about the incorrect construction, and no response. It's a huge bummer and very disappointing after spending a good deal of money and waiting so long for the bed. I am sincerely hoping someone reaches out to us soon to figure out how to remedy the problem.

Bought a walnut table, absolutely love it. Craftsmanship is superb, quality of the wood is fantastic, it was exactly what I was looking for.
Production and shipping did take a while, but they communicated progress regularly, so I knew what to expect. Would definitely order again.

Terrible customer service - the worst I've ever experienced in my life. I'm not usually a complainer, but the interactions I've had with this company were so extremely BAD, I've come to the internet to try to save other people if I can. The EXTREMELY SHORT version of our story: We ordered a Walnut table for our dining room in May of 2022. (It's the "Santa Monica Family Edition 116" x 38" with two leaves). We received an email stating there was a small delay and that we'd be getting the table in July. No problemo! Well, the table didn't come until DECEMBER. We hosted 2 big gatherings (November and December) and had been counting on having our table for them. Also, not a HUGE deal - we were able to rent tables for these events and it was fine. The problem was the communication was SO bad, that twice I started asking myself if these guys were scam artists because they were quick to charge my credit card almost $5,000 but would never answer the phone and rarely responded to emails. Once, I got a phone call which eased my mind a bit, but then they went incommunicado again and I wondered if this was all just to string me along so I wouldn't dispute the charge on my card. Their occasional email replies were full of reasons why we still didn't have our table by SEPTEMBER (We moved, people were out sick, someone quit -- which are all good excuses -- it just would have been nice if someone had reached out to ME to keep me updated.) What a horrible process this was! I received an email telling me my table had SHIPPED, and a week later I got an email asking what kind of tabletop I wanted! MADDENING. It seemed like they were deliberately trying to drive me insane. BUT: We FINALLY got the table on December 9th and it was GORGEOUS and perfect and wonderful in every way! We were so happy, that we were willing to let bygones be bygones and just chalk it all up to Covid-related supply/employee issues and move forward. speaking of moving forward: Fast forward to 4 months later, April of 2023. The table started to noticeably SAG in the middle. And the more time passed, the worse it got. (Understand that we had used the table for exactly FIVE dinner parties, where it was loaded with dishes and food. The rest of the time there was NOTHING on it. So, it's not like we were putting heavy things on it to push it down.) I DREADED having to interact with these people again, especially for something like this and, so far, the dread was well-warranted. I've sent multiple emails with photos and videos showing the ever-worsening sag, and, while I haven't been completely ghosted, I still have no solution. (I currently have 3 metal supports holding the table up, but they're hideous and are not a longterm solution for a piece of furniture that is supposed to be the highlight of our entire home... (I DID receive an offer to make us a center support leg, but because there are so many leaves, that will just create a "tenting" effect. I've offered that perhaps 2 center support legs might solve the problem, but I haven't heard anything back about that.) I'm not an expert, but I believe that this table was just poorly designed and that the weight of the wood, combined with the LONG table length and NARROW width, just can't defy the pull of gravity. (I've noticed that they no longer offer this table for sale, either. Coincidence???) Anyway, you might have better luck if you live near where they are. We are in California and dealing with them about this is basically impossible. I'm so mad! (It doesn't help that my husband said when I was ordering, "Are you sure we should order furniture from so far away?") Long story short: All the furniture I've seen from them is GORGEOUS and you might get lucky and have no issues with anything. Or, you might be like me and wake up every day thinking that ordering from them was one of the worst decisions I've ever made in my life.

I ordered a Santa Monica dining table from ModernCre8ve and having now received it, am loving it. The quality of construction is incredible and it is everything I could have asked for. I hate to give any criticism to such great craftsmen, but their delivery process does need a good tweaking. My only frustration was in the timeline for delivery, which was initially estimated at about 8-10 weeks, and was subsequently pushed back several times, with delivery finally happening at 23 weeks. With supply chain slow downs and loss of staff, I understand delays, but I wish they would have been up-front and honest about what the timeline expectations should be. Aside from that, I am still pleased with my purchase and would recommend them to anyone searching for a quality all-wood piece of furniture.Service: Woodworking

This review is not on quality of furniture as I have yet to receive, review is on timeliness and customer service.This is the first negative review I've written and really debated doing this but am unsure what my other course of actions are. I ordered my bed frame from Moderncre8ve on Aug 23rd and was told my product would ship out the week of October 31. I reached out the week before Oct 31 to request an update and heard nothing, the week came and went and still no response. I emailed, called and eventually found a way to text Moderncre8ve to eventually get a response from Parrish who stated he thought he saw my bed and I should see it shortly. I then did not hear anything else until Nov 30th (a full month after) stating that due to some issues I would not see my bed ship out until Dec 26th. I understand that things are weird right now, and totally understand some delays, and accepted it. Well Dec 26th came and went again and no one contacted me about my bed. Again I called, I emailed, I texted until Jan 5th, when I was told again the bed was in the workshop and I should see it being shipped within the next week or 2. It is now Feb 1, a full 3months after I was told I'd get the bed frame, and still no information about where it is or when I can expect it. I have again emailed multiple times and left tons of voicemail to no avail.I've been sleeping on a mattress on the floor 5 months and just want my bed frame or at least some information about it, there isn't even a way to get my money back since I can't seem to contact anyone.I totally understand that there have been material shortages and other delays that are out of control of the vendor, but not responding to an email is an item I struggle to find sympathy for. It's really a shame because I was so excited about this piece and really wanted to support a small business.Service: Woodworking

We received multiple compliments from friends and family over the holidays regarding is beautiful craftsmanship. It truly is a work of art! Just received my Santa Monica table via local pickup from moderncre8ve and couldn't be more happy with it. I had an excellent experience from order to pick up. Parrish in particular was always really responsive and helpful via email when I would ask for status updates on my order, and also sent me a follow up email with helpful tips for how to best care for my beautiful new table. What a pleasure to support such an awesome local business. Will definitely be ordering from them again.

I ordered a table with two leaves back in April - due to supply chain issues the fabrication was delayed.I received my table in October. The craftsmanship of the table is superior - it is a lovely piece. It is made from sustainably harvested wood and is fabricated domestically. It is a piece of art as well as a functional piece. Unfortunately I was only able to get one of the leaves matched to the rest of the table due to lumber issues. You can see in the photos that the last leaf doesn't match the rest of the table.The table alone or with only a single leaf is a fantastic piece.I am pleased to report that the company was receptive to making things right and did issue a refund for the leaf that doesn't match.For others considering ordering - you will be happy with the quality and craftsmanship and I believe the company will communicate with you should they have an issue with sourcing what they need to complete your piece.As an aside - if you are not well versed in wood - be careful because their website also has pictures of pieces made of different wood than what you order (ie Santa Monica table in maple actually shows a table made of walnut)

Absolutely stunning!This will be the second piece of furniture I have purchased from ModernCre8ve and once again they did not disappoint. The first piece was a custom dining room table. Beautiful!This time I purchased the Warwick, king size bed frame. Stunning! Such rich and warm tones in the walnut wood, and extremely well built. They seem to take great care and pride in their work, paying attention to every detail. If you want cheaply made furniture that will last 2 or 3 years then go elsewhere. This is the type of stuff built to last generations. Thank you, again Robert and crew!

Like another reviewer said, this company has TERRIBLE after care service. My dresser arrived with 2 drawers not closing properly and misaligned. I called, texted and emailed them repeatedly asking for a solution, but they didn't even acknowledge my messages. Only when I threatened with a review, they finally responded. I was sent replacement parts, but not the ones needed to fix the slides. Further emails have remained unanswered. I really wanted to support a small independent company, but the experience I have had so far has been beyond unprofessional.

Had a great experience with Modern Cre8ve ordering a custom dining table to fit our townhome's small dining space. I wanted a quality piece of furniture made of solid wood (no MDF, plywood, or veneers!) in a timeless style and this was perfect. Communication was great, lead time was as expected, and our table is absolutely gorgeous.

I ordered a custom version of the Haven media center in walnut. It is beautiful! The wood is a lovely grain and substantial in heft. The delivery was accommodating to my schedule and right on time. The piece is lovely and changes the room substantially.Great job. I will order from Moderncre8ve again.Cathy
